I haven't had this happen yet since most of my toys are pretty new! But I will get annoyed if and when this happens

None of the high quality battery operated vibes have gotten louder with long term use that I have. When one of my Wahls went, it got terribly loud, but I have been told coil vibrator motors do this.
I think sometimes the less expensive vibrators are loud anyway, from the 100 or so I have. I don't use the cheaper ones enough to have found out. Although, I've had my Ultimate Massager Pocket Rocket for a year, and it only cost $24.00 and it is still as quiet as can be.
