Case: This DVD comes packaged in a clear DVD casing, with the cover of the film representing it. On the front of this DVD Janine, the main star of the film is seen with her hand wrapped around a pipe wrench, thus playing on the name Pipe Dreams. There are small images of other girls in what seems to be bondage like scenarios, gagged. The main color focus on this DVD is a purple hue, which is overall very nice. It has the title Pipe Dreams across the bottom, with the Vivid logo to the right hand side in the bottom corner.

The front cover also states that this is a Paul Thomas feature, and there's a subtext about the star, Janine. It states, "Her final film her most daring boy/girl role." The front also lists other stars in the film aside from Janine. For a cover, this is definitely an eye catcher. The back cover has the summary of the feature, and also lists the DVD features, which you will find on the menu of the DVD.

Along with these, you will find various photos of more girls in collars and restraints being whipped. There is also piping all over the back, indicating once again the name of the feature. Overall, this cover is informative and appealing to the eyes.

Advertisements: Before you get to the menu, you have to go through several advertisements and commercials for Vivid products.

Menu: When you come upon the menu after the advertisements, you are struck with music, kind of like a new age trance music, I suppose you could call it. It's not over the top or annoying, but it's not the best either. The menu copies the DVD cover, and continues with the purple hues. There are more pipes, and in the background you can see glimpses from scenes happening. That is if you can see past the scratched texture of overlays and the pipes.

The menu options are as follows:

Play Feature: This obviously plays the film.

Scene Selection: This feature takes you to a sub-menu where you can choose what scene you wish to start from. There's more of this new wave techno music, but once again, it's not annoying. Think of club music. On this sub-menu there's another photo of Janine, a full body shot of her on her knees in a risque pose.

Positions Room: This takes you to another sub-menu where you can choose whatever position you want to see. The categories are as such: Pussy Eating, Doggie, Blowjob, Missionary, and Cum Shot.

Behind the Scenes: This option takes you to a featurette of behind the scenes and the making of this film.

Vivid Girl Extras: This sub-menu consists of extra intimate scenes that weren't in the feature. There are five scenes, and you will notice a next button at the bottom, click this for Janine's bio.

Photo Gallery: This special feature is a slideshow of various body shots.

Vivid Previews: This is trailers for other Vivid films, Big Fake Wedding, Foreplay, Savanna Loves Sex, and Triple Ecstasys, all with very interesting looking trailers.

More Adult Fun: This featurette goes through more advertisements such as, 1-800-Vivid-XXX, etc..

Vivid Products: This is featurette on Phallix handblown glass dildos, How to Have a XXX Sex Life book by Vivid, Herbal Vivid male enhancement pills, Vivid condoms, Vivid apparel and ShopVivid.com.

Lighting/Camera: The lighting on this feature was efficient. There weren't any shadows, and it didn't leave anything to the imagination, because you could see everything that was going on. Sometimes the light was brighter, but it depended where the scene was being shot. The camera was shaky at times due to movement, so I'd say that was a downside, but the angles and shots during the intimate scenes were on mark, and didn't look as though an amateur were behind the camera. The quality of the movie is great, aside from the shaky camera. There is one scene with Janine and Steven St. Croix, where it's a bit grainy, but it's supposed to be, as Manuel Ferrera who plays the plumber is watching Janine on VHS.

Film: As an actual plot/storyline, this movie was good. It didn't lead astray from the plotline at any time in the entire feature, and the acting was fairly decent. The only bad acting, was due to the fact that Janine portrays an actress in the storyline, whom can't act to save her life. As far as diversity goes, the scenes were fairly diverse, and there was girl on girl, girl on guy, and some BDSM moments, which were fairly softcore. The actors truly sound like they were enjoying the action, and it wasn't the fake sounding moans/screams that you might hear from some other porn films.

My overall experience was that this movie wasn't a waste of time for me. It kept me entertained and wanting to watch the entire film to see how it would turn out. Personally, I've been a big fan of Janine since I first saw her in Pirates/Pirates 2, and she shines in this as well. If you're a fan of hers, are into softcore BDSM, or just want a good movie to watch, then I recommend this one. It may not be the best one out there, but it is sure to please someone.

I still have grabbed this DVD, even though I have others to choose from. It's honestly not my favorite, though. Janine is a great star, as I've stated in my review, but I personally enjoyed her in Pirates/Pirates 2 more. Steven St. Croix, though he has a small part in this film, did a wonderful job. The other actors aren't very memorable, but the sex is good.
