Overall the Nexus G-Play Medium is a very versatile toy that has found itself residing in one of the few and coveted spots on my bedside windowsill. My main use for this toy is as an anal plug/vibe, and the vibrations are strong enough to be felt through the vaginal wall. I can also use this as a clit stimulator, but it doesn't live up to my g-spot expectations. That, along with the lack of variety in vibrations, has dropped this toy down to 4 stars. That doesn't mean I don't recommend it!

Use

The unique and well thought-out design of the Nexus G-play medium makes it an awesome toy with a huge variety of uses! Of course, as the name gives away, one of those uses is for g-spot stimulation, but I've found I use this toy primarily as a vibrating anal plug. The small tip and intense vibrations also make this a great clitoral or nipple stimulator, but its one speed is usually too strong for me unless I am quite warmed up.

Unfortunately the G-Play is not waterproof, or even splash-proof as the battery compartment barely seals. So be sure to be careful when cleaning, and always take the vibrating shaft out of the silicone sleeve when sterilizing!

Ultimately if you are looking for a discrete, functional g- or p-spot stimulator of a reasonable beginning to moderate size, I highly recommend Nexus G-Play Medium.

Material / Texture

The Nexus G-Play Medium is made of 100% silicone with a lovely silky finish. Un-lubricated it is still quite slick and provides a nice sensation when dragged over external parts of the body. The silicone takes quite well to water-based lubricants (as usual, DO NOT used silicone-based lubes with silicone toys), and LOTS should be used during anal play.

The silicone has no smell or taste, and has the slightest bit of give. The silicone sleeve covers a hard plastic vibrator, so there is still a definite form and rigidity to the G-Play. This may cause some people a little bit of discomfort when using it, but because of the relatively small size of the G-Play medium, I've never had any problems past some initial, beginning-user anal discomfort that quickly subsides.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The Nexus G-Play Medium has a very unique shape that I enjoy thoroughly. Its smaller, more bulbous head, followed by the thick oval shaft provides a pleasant "pop" and then "glide" sensation when being used anally. it has 3 1/4" of an insertable shaft, followed by a flared base that insures it is safe for anal play. The beauty of this base, however, comes from its well thought-out shape. Instead of being round, as most anal toy bases are, it is elongated so that it sits comfortably between your cheeks!

At the thickest part (the oval shaft below the head), the G-Play medium is 3 1/2" in circumference (or 1 1/8" in diameter). The size of this toy makes it super easy to travel with, although if you do, I highly recommend that you flip the battery upside-down to protect yourself from unwanted vibrations in the middle of security!

Functions / Performance / Controls

First I would like to point out that if the G-Play Medium isn't *exactly* what you are looking for for one reason or another, you can easily check out both the G-Play Small (which EdenFantasys does not sell) and Large. The Small is, obviously, smaller, and thus better for those who might want to use the G-Play as a beginner's anal toy, and the Large has a variety of vibrations and patterns as opposed to the Medium's single speed.

The G-Play Medium has a brilliant design of enclosing a long, narrow vibrator inside a silicone sleeve. This means that the vibrations can be felt throughout the shaft of the G-Play as well as in the tip. Therefore I have found that using this on my clit can be incredible, although I have to warm myself up first. The single speed of the G-Play Medium is fairly substantial, and a little buzzy. It's a little too much to get started with, but once I've had a few small climaxes the intensity is perfect. Because of the silky surface of the toy, I have never felt numbed either.

As I mentioned before I primarily use the G-Play Medium as an anal plug/vibrator. The unique shape makes it easy to insert once I'm warmed up, and helps it stay put. I've never had any trouble keeping the G-Play in, even during vaginal penetration. I sincerely enjoy the fullness that I feel when keeping the G-Play Medium in during penetrative sex, and my male-bodied partner loves that when the G-Play is turned on, he can feel the vibrations through my vaginal wall.

Again, I would like to note that the one vibration setting can be a little intense, but even when I can't handle the vibrations this works great as a simple plug!

The one area where the G-Play Medium fell short for me was g-spot stimulation. I have a fairly deep g-spot and the Medium just can't hit the right spot. Because of the shortness of the shaft it's hard to gain any sort of control over the depth of this toy - it's either in up to the base, or if you try to hold onto it like a handle you can only get the head in before your hand gets in the way. For someone with a shallower g-spot, however, this might be an incredible toy. While I was not able to orgasm using this vaginally, the vibrations were pleasurable and intense, and the shape of the toy was easy to feel.

I would also like to comment on the design of the power button. I sometimes find it hard to push, as it is domed and plastic. When my hand is all covered in lube my finger tends to slip right off if I'm not careful. It's a small thing to pick on, but it's something I've noticed time after time during my playtime with the G-Play. Once you get the hang of pushing the button, however, it's a simple click-on, click-off, with no frills or complications.
    • Easy to use
    • Not enough variety

Care and Maintenance

The G-Play Medium is seriously the easiest to clean vibrator I've ever owned. The silicone sleeve easily slides off of the plastic vibrator and can be washed with soap and water, wiped down with a 10% bleach solution, or even boiled. Because the G-Play can be used vaginally or anally, you must be careful to sterilize it or use a condom before switching between the two!

It comes with one AAA battery, which should be taken out when the G-Play is stored, or else you will wear down the battery much more quickly. I have had a problem with how quickly this toy eats up batteries. There have been more than one occasion when I warmed myself up with this inserted anally, and went to push the button to turn on the vibrations and.... nothing. I've learned to check the battery beforehand, but I've found that this goes from 60 to 0 with very little warning.

Because the G-Play is made of silicone, be sure to avoid silicone-based lubricants!
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
    • Battery guzzler

Packaging

The G-Play Medium comes in a large, nice looking black cardboard box with a window to see the toy. It is suspended in plastic on the inside, and an easy package to open. The box is not graphic, but it is also not necessarily subtle.

If you are interested in having multiply settings for the vibe, look to the G-play large or the Ridge Rider. Even if you are not ready for the size, the vibe is interchangeable with the medium.
    Wonderful review.
