Booty Beads are, in fact, vibrating beads for your booty. This very pretty product looks like no other anal toy, with its alternating black rubber and pearlescent plastic beads. Powered by a 3-speed but quiet bullet vibe, Booty Beads are a great toy for anal play beginners, or anyone seeking for aesthetic and anal pleasures. The toy is good for either partner or solo play, and small enough for carry-along fun.

Booty Beads are made from hard plastic; the black sections have soft and silky textured rubber coating. The beads are strung along a bendable hard plastic rod. The materials will not take on or hold smell, which is always important for an anal toy. The bullet runs on 4LR44 batteries, and the toy is packaged with batteries included and two extra sets. Due to the rubber coating, you’ll need a lube that is rubber-friendly. As always, my favorite lube is Maximus, which worked great with this toy. The toy is advertised as waterproof, and did buzz away happily while submerged.

Booty Beads have a great, sleek, “urban” look that says “Play with me, I’m fun and not scary!” The toy I received was black, but the toy also comes in pink and lavender, so, along with its pearlescent beads, is clearly designed to appeal to women. This anal toy doesn’t look other anal toys, and without “booty” in the title, its use would not be apparent.

The rubber coating, advertised as “Silky Soft Breeze Material” is soft and smooth to the touch. The toy feels good in your hand, and invites playing with the beads and bending its flexible rod. The tip intended for initial penetration has a soft, rounded tip that enters smoothly. The bullet vibe can be felt all the way to the tip; I find that having it vibrating before insertion helps me relax and open for the toy.

The toy’s beads are arranged along a bendable plastic shaft. Bendable, but not actually flexible, as bending the toy takes two hands, and it can’t easily be reshaped once it is in use.

This is a small toy, although it also comes in a larger “Mega” size. The toy is 9.5 inches; the beaded section is 6.5 inches. The tip and beads are ½ inch wide, and the top/handle is ¾ inch wide. If you come to love your Booty Beads, the toy’s size and design allow it to be discreetly be carried in a purse or carry-on bag.

The toy is run by an easy to reach and use button at the tip of its end section. One push starts the buzz at the lowest level, and the second and third pushes increase the intensity. The fourth push turns the buzz off again. Booty Beads can also, of course, be used without the buzz activated as a simple insertion toy. I found it easier to take the toy in with the buzz already on; the vibrations, while intense, are contained, so handling the toy at full buzz is still easy.

The buzz is surprisingly powerful and delightfully quiet. Once it was in me, I couldn't hear it all, although I felt plenty of vibration. As promised by the packaging, the buzz can be felt the entire length of the toy.

As an anal toy, the cleaning of Booty Beads is of utmost importance. The toy is designed to pull apart so you can clean between the beads; this is accomplished by a somewhat complicated pull/twist to lock procedure. This process is illustrated on the packaging, and in video form on the BMS website video directions

While this feature does give some access to cleaning between the beads, it is not possible to fully and safely clean this toy. The surface material is not non-absorbent, and the toy cannot be boiled as anal toys made of silicone can. Even with the beads pulled apart, the rod between them can’t be completely cleaned. The product packaging, in small print, acknowledges this, warning that the toy should not be shared with other sexual partners. Even with careful cleaning, bacteria could remain on the toy between uses even if used for only person.

I am not very experienced with anal play, so I used the toy with my partner’s eager help. She insists on a complete cleaning/enema before anal play, which greatly aided with the difficult clean-up for this toy. She penetrated me from behind, slowly at first. The toy slid in easily, aided by the fun buzz. The toy was easy for her to move in and out, and felt great after I got used to the buzzing all along its length. Although the toy is bendable, she found it very difficult to bend once it had been inserted. In order to bend the toy out of the way so she could enter me vaginally, she had to pull it nearly all the way out and use both hands to reshape it. At that point we both heard a distinct snapping noise, although the toy was whole and hearty after we finished.

The toy was fun to use. The buzz was great, and it, along with the extra pressure, did greatly enhance our fucking with her strap-on. Perhaps my anus is a rank amateur, though, for I couldn’t feel any bumping or popping from the individual beads as she moved the toy in and out. I was sad to say goodbye to the buzz when she finally removed the toy and we dropped exhausted to her bed.

I did then clean the toy according to the package instructions. The procedure is not as complicated as the directions suggest, although there was not as much space between the beads as their animated video directions show. I’m not completely satisfied that the toy is really clean. I definitely would never share it with anyone else. This is a significant drawback for me, so the toy will not be going into my top drawer or traveling toy bag. While the concept for Booty Beads is innovative and intriguing, the design falls short in my opinion. To make the toy more usable for anal play, it probably needs to be covered in a silicone skin, so bacteria can’t penetrate at all. Still, the toy was a great excuse to begin anal play with my Top, and was enough fun that I’m game for future adventures.
