Power wand enhanced - anal vibrator by BMS Enterprises - review by In Between Soliloquies

I chose this probe because of its wireless feature; as clumsy as I usually am, the less opportunity for disaster the better! However, this product ended up being one I'm not really crazy about.

Packaging
The probe comes in a non-discreet clear plastic package, explicitly labeled and displayed. There are no instructions on the package.

Material
The probe is made of PVC. Keep this in mind, because it is a fierce lint/hair magnet. For this reason, it is impractical to store it in a fabric storage pouch because it'll likely pick up fibers, but it can be stored with fragile toys, such as those made of glass. Figure that one out, though, since it's best to keep glass toys in a padded fabric pouch, anyway!

The probe also has a strong chemical smell that doesn't fade after washing or "airing out." I felt uncomfortable using this in my body at first for this reason.

Design
The length is 7 3/4 inches (6 inches insertable) and the diameter is 1 1/4 inches. Circumference is 4 inches. The probe has horizontal ridges from top to bottom, at which point a "removable" bullet pokes out with its single button on the bottom-most part of the probe. My partner and I tried very hard to get the bullet out, but it wouldn't budge. We even tried dripping some lube around the body of the bullet so it would slip out of the clutches of the PVC, but it wouldn't budge. I guess this is good to ensure it won't come out during use, but why market it as being removable if it isn't? There is also a loop on the end for retrieval, which is why it's designed for anal play. The bullet was coated with a purple material to match the body of the probe. So far, it hasn't chipped or faded. The bullet takes 3 small circular batteries, and the packaging includes an extra set of three (which is awesome!).

Here's where it gets frustrating: The first time I used the probe, it didn't want to turn on. At all. At first it seemed as if the button wasn't being pressed hard enough, but then I realized that's just how the button was. Okay, so I mash on the button for a while, unscrew the battery cover, play with the batteries, change them and put in the "extra set", try it again, put the old ones back, tap the probe on the table, and then it finally worked. The probe has three continuous vibrate functions, strong enough for beginners, but perhaps not impressive for advanced users. The vibrations are slightly "buzzy," and they are concentrated at the end of the probe, where the bullet rests.. Th vibrations don't carry too well throughout the probe, so it would need to be inserted far enough to be able to feel anything.

While this hasn't completely redeemed itself, I've grown to like it more after using it for a while.

I no longer even bother to remove the bullet; even though it's supposed to be removable, it doesn't really seem to want to come out, so I just leave it in. I have other bullets, so I don't really miss this one! That said, since the bullet is at the back end of the wand, I really only use it for penetration and not for external play, since the vibrations are stronger at the base.

It has been quite some time since I first unpackaged the want, and the heavy, industrial plastic smell still has not gone away. It has faded, so I expect that eventually it will disappear completely, but it's taking an unusually long time.
