A Pirate's Flogger... Yar!

Glow is a mid-range flogger that makes an excellent addition to any whip lover's collection. It's well-made and meant to deliver a weighty blow or a sensual massage. Its handle is light; its falls decently weighted. Glow can be enjoyed by anyone from beginner to the most experienced.

Use

This flogger can be used to deliver a no-nonsense punch, or a sensual back massage, depending on how hard or soft, fast or slow, it's used. It's light and not overly large, which makes it great for travel. And due to its material and design, it can be used by beginners and experts alike.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

Glow is definitely designed to be a flogger I can sink my teeth into. The fourteen falls are eighteen and one quarter inches of red suede. They're half an inch wide and the tips are cut flat, rather than angled.

They're soft and heavy and smell absolutely divine. The only complaint I have about them is that they're uneven.

Glow's handle is wrapped with two different grains of soft, black leather. The wrap, which covers the ends of the falls and a short wooden dowel, is stitched closed with sturdy black thread. It's seven and one-half inches long and has a six and one-half inch leather wrist strap attached to the end.

It's not the most professional looking thing in the world, but it does look nice. It seems durable. It's not overly heavy or too light. It looks like something a pirate would use. But that's just me. I am, without a doubt, a weirdo.

Performance

This flogger, in use, really caught me off guard. When I saw the falls were suede, I scoffed at it and pushed it to the back of my mind as another toy I probably wouldn't enjoy. I was impressed when M whipped me with it the first time and it actually hurt.

While the handle is light, the falls are heavy enough to win a positive vote from M. The soft, flexible nature of suede allows it to almost flow the direction you swing the whip, while the weight of the falls gives the wielder the ability to make it hurt if that's the desired effect. Each stroke, while not exactly perfectly balanced, is fluid and effortless. And the width of the falls keep them from tangling too often.

The whip works well for all ranges of pain tolerance, from the lowest to the highest. Its bite is a mid-range thud with a little bit of sting thrown in for good measure.

It takes a bit of getting used to on both sides. I definitely wouldn't write it off because of its material. It performs much differently than any suede toy I've ever experienced.

Crank up the stereo and close the bedroom door. It is a whip, so it can be pretty loud.

Care and Maintenance

Please, please, PLEASE do not get Glow wet. Water saps suede of its natural oil. If it must be cleaned, get a suede brush or some suede cleaner. Saddle soap for the handle. And store it flat to avoid creases. Hanging up, I think, is best.

    @Sir - Thanks

    @Lauren - M's kinda a toy snob and His favorite whip is a flogger. Though He's now kinda partial to the buggy whip I bought for Him not too long ago. Evil bastard. =D
