The Ostrich Feather Tickler is a tickler toy made from Sportsheets. A tickler is intended to be used as a sensation play object that feels soft, sensual, and can provide different sensations from the human hand. The feather portion is made up of ...well...a feather. It feels like a relatively-fake feather you'd find at a craft store. The feather is about six inches long, though, so it's not tiny feather. The feather is attached to a plastic rod that's about two feet in length. The plastic rod includes an extra layer of plastic near the bottom to function as a handle. The feather comes in red, purple, burgundy, black, blue, and teal.

The feather does come in a large plastic baggie that covers the body of the toy itself. I imagine this bag is just to protect the feathers. After it's taken out, you'll see there's a tag attached to the plastic rod of the toy. It shows what the toy is on the front side, and on the back side, it gives sexy hints for using the tickler. It gives five different games to play with the feather, and one of them ends up being a game to trace this feather all over your partner's body until you find their tickle spot, then to keep tickling them there.

I enjoy the Ostrich Feather Tickler. I bought this and a couple other ticklers at the same time since these have been on my wishlist since I first joined the site eight months ago. While my favorite out of the batch has been the Chain Tickler, but this one is also a close second. It's my second just because it has such a long feather - while I've played with quite a few sensual feathers before, none of them have been six inches long nor keep their shape. This feather has the middle of the feather (the bone/support) running down the length of the feather, so it stays sitting up. The last inch or so on the top isn't supported, so those can be used on your partner without scratching up your partner.

What's more neat? It's not just one feather - it's two. There are two feathers laid back-to-back on this toy, so while it will look like one feather, there are actually two feathers here to provide extra support to it. The feathers appear to be superglued onto the rod itself, but it looks like strong superglue. If you have a problem with them coming off, you should be able to reglue the feather without any problem.

So how does this feel? Sensual and in a nice way. It tickles lightly on the skin, and while it doesn't make me laugh or feel giggly, I feel like it definitely increases my skin's sensitivity. It's definitely something that your body wants to naturally lean in to which is always a nice change. Basically, it does provide something that offers a different sensation than the regular sensation that comes just from your partner's hands. Since the feather off of the feather ends up being so long and soft, it just feels a lot better than the other ones I've felt with plastic/cheap feathers. This one feels luxurious on my skin.

Cleaning this one should be non-existent or at least very careful. I wouldn't get the feathers wet since I'm concerned they'll just wilt and be sad - I doubt they'd recover from getting wet. For that reason, use this only on a dry both, keep it away from lubricant, and keep it away from bodily fluids. The stick can be wiped down with warm water and a washcloth though. You can store this wherever the feather can lay flat - we are keeping all of our ticklers sticking out in a large flower vase.

I like our Ostrich feather. It's not amazingly high-quality, but for a tickler like this, it works well. Unlike smaller feathers without a handle where I feel like I apply too much pressure to be tickling, the handle makes it much easier to make small, swooping motions that provide good tickling. The handle seems strong, and the feathers seem to be attached well. I definitely do enjoy the Ostrich feather, and I might end up picking up another color besides black.
Follow-up commentary
Out of all of the feather ticklers we own, the Ostrich one is probably my favorite. It's not perfect, but it's still a nice feather tickler. Even after playing with it multiple times, the feather still looks great. I think it's probably because I'm taking particular care to make sure it gets near no liquids. A couple of the little fluffs have fallen off of the feather, but it still looks great.
