Not to be taken lightly!

This is a fabulous flogger for the more advanced user. I think it would be a great addition to the arsenal due to its wonderful design and the unique sensations it provides. Braided leather is my new favorite type of flogger thanks to this beauty!

Use

I would first like to say, holy crap, what a flogger! I do not think this is the type of flogger that beginners should try, but advanced users will most definitely love! Each tail on the flogger is braided leather, with about a 2" section at the end that is brushed leather and unbraided. This flogger hits hard, even on the lightest stroke. It gives a nice tingly sting and can leave some interesting patterns on the skin when used harder. The braids leave imprints that are quite artsy! This flogger has a longer set of tails than I am used to working with, so I'd like to note that you should always be careful of wrapping. What begins as a light hit will not be light once the motion has hit the ends. When aiming for one spot, you will experience the tail wrapping around to hit further than you expected, so practice with this flogger on a pillow or yourself before trying on someone else (always a proper safety precaution, I hit my inner thigh with any new slapping/flogging/whipping toys to test them).

The handle is ornate; it appears to be a red vinyl with black lace overlay. The obvious use of this toy is for flogging/spanking during BDSM play. I would like to note that due to the ends being unbraided, and as such they are a brushed leather, this flogger makes great sensation play. Are you going to flog or brush it gently over your lover's skin? They will be ecstatic with anticipation! The brushed leather is so tender and soft that I really love using this whip to drag it gently down my partners back and other sensitive areas.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

This toy is superbly crafted. I feel as though it will last a long time and, with proper care, will not show much wear for the worse. It can be hung up by a braided leather loop that is attached on the end of the handle. The flogger's total length is 39" with 25" of tails; the handle makes up 9" of the flogger and obviously that leaves the little hanging loop to be about 5". Overall, it is a pretty lengthy flogger, which is why I mention practice before play. Each part of the flogger is fastened with metal pins, the loop is fastened to the handle, and the braids are fastened to the handle. The metal pins are extremely sturdy and I have no worries that they will hold up well. The main special feature of this flogger, in my opinion, is the braided tails, and the fact that they each end with a brushed leather strip that is not braided. I think this cements the quality of this toy because it can be used for a unique sensation when dragging it across the skin, whereas I feel that if it just ended in braided leather, the sensation would not be as soft. The tails are leather, obviously, and the handle of the whip seems to be made of a wooden base that has vinyl wrapped with lace for appearance purposes.

Performance

Performance-wise, this flogger was phenomenal. It leaves beautiful marks on the skin and, if intended for extremely heavy play, can hold up quite well. I found that the tail-ends were my favorite part because they created added sensation play, which I was not expecting when I initially looked into getting this toy. It has held up to everything else I expected; I just liked the pleasant surprise of the soft leather. It is also very aesthetically pleasing—I like the red vinyl under the black lace. It looks very attractive and makes me extremely comfortable hanging it on my wall. Although, if your friends and family don't know you do BDSM play, it might be ill-advised to hang it blatantly as I do!

Care and Maintenance

I have not cleaned mine, per se. You can use a warm wash cloth to wipe the flogger down, but I would not suggest getting the cloth too wet because it can ruin the leather and make it rougher. This toy shouldn't really need to be cleaned; I have never drawn blood with it, personally. If you happen to get blood on it, since it can't be sterilized, I would recommend just wiping it down and not using it between partners. I know some couples are into blood play and will tend to use floggers on top of previous inflicted wounds, which I think this toy could handle, but just be sure to get all bodily fluids off with the washcloth. If it gets intensely dirty for some reason, a mild soap can be added to the warm water. To maintain the quality of the flogger, I would store it either hanging up or in a cool, dry place where the tails can't get stuck on anything or tangled. This flogger should treat you well and last a long time if you take some steps to keep it well placed and clean.

Packaging

The flogger comes in a clear package with no instructions. With this type of toy, I don't feel that instructions are necessary. The flogger is blatant, and the packaging will not hide the toy. It is, therefore, not discreet. You could choose to store your toy in the packaging, but it is not necessary. The flogger can basically be coiled up and put in a drawer or really anywhere that is dry and away from things that can tangle or harm the leather tails.

Personal comments

My only other main point I'd like to reiterate and mention here is that I don't think this is a good flogger for beginners at BDSM or people that are just looking to spice up their bedroom play. My reasoning for this is that this flogger has longer tails than normal ones I've seen and can have bad wrapping. A user who is not good with aiming or new to flogging can easily hit a body part they do not intend, and with more force than they intended. With flogging, you should always avoid the kidneys or the lower back because it is possible to permanently injure your partner. With this being said, a beginner could easily hit there, and with a lot more force due to the nature of the braids and length of the tails with this flogger. It is a very beautiful piece of equipment, but it is indeed a heavier style of flogger, and you will want to have used floggers before and have a little knowledge of them before getting this one.

Experience

I rated the "bee" of this flogger because I do feel that it creates an adequate amount of noise when in use. It has a lovely sound when hitting skin, but it could most likely be heard a room over; it just hits hard enough that it's loud, in my opinion.

I obviously enjoyed this toy quite a bit. I'm giving it five stars because it has a flawless craftsmanship, in my opinion, and it will hold up to heavy play, which I have not found very common in floggers at EF, so when I do find one that can, I always rate it extremely well. I do tend to play rough on my toys, so I can really appreciate a good flogger.
Follow-up commentary
This is still my absolute favorite flogger that I own. It's my "go to" flogger. I have used it numerous times since I got it, and I almost never go to a play scene without it. It has held up wonderfully during the time I've had it, especially considering how often it gets put to use.

Though I do like the Corsette flogger better, this one is nice for, as you said, much, much lighter play. I would call it more of a teaser than the main course. Excellent review!
