The Black & Blue Spartacus Strap Whip is a nice little whip/flogger that can be perfect for both light and heavy flogging. If you want to hurt, this will definitely do the job, and if you want more gentle slaps, make sure your partner knows how to pull hits. With simple flicks, you can flog your partner until they turn red.

With 22 straps, it's most accurately called a "flogger," as it doesn't have the sharp bite of single-tailed whips.

The flogger has 22 straps, each 20" in length. The straps are 1/4" wide, black on one side and blue on the other. I have to say, the color is a bit disappointing. In the picture on here it's a bright, vibrant blue, but in reality it's very dull colored and more of a dark midnight blue. Not a big issue, just something I noticed.

The handle is very firm and can alternatively be used as a small cane. The handle has five round metallic studs on one side, so keep that in mind if you plan on using it for hitting. NEVER hit with the intention to actually damage someone- pain is fun, but injury is not. There is a convenient metal ring at the end of the flogger's handle, perfect if you want to nail it up on the wall in your bedroom or naughty dungeon.

The Black & Blue whip is made of leather, and you can tell by the scent when it's fresh out of the box. The craftsmanship and material are fantastic- definitely a good quality whip that will last a long time. The flogger is surprisingly lightweight given the strength of the handle! At 0.5 pounds, my pinkie finger can easily bounce the whip in the air by its metallic ring, and I'm a five-foot female!

Leather can peel and flake if treated improperly. You can use a light soap if you wish, and there are also products made specifically to clean leather.

Storage is as simple as placing the ring around a nail on your wall, or simply placing it in a dresser drawer. Again, simply avoid moisture and heat. If you think you might spill something on your flogger, it probably is a bad storage place.

The packaging is appealing and does not include any excessively sexual images that might worry you when taking it home. On the back it includes information on the toy- the size of the straps, the fact that it is studded and includes a D ring.

Spartacus (the maker of the Black & Blue whip) also include the information that the company is over 20 years old and include a link to their website, encouraging you to "explore, play safe and visit us online." After visiting the site, I found that it was mostly just a sex toy shop with very little information on whip use.

The blue and black packaging is simple and as discreet as you can get for having a partially transparent box that contains a flogger. The halves of the thin plastic package actually curve and are only connected at the thin bottom of the package, and easy to close and use for storing the toy later. But it's also simple thin packaging plastic, so it's more for waterproofing than a strong barrier against the outside world.
