Toys like these are referred to as "ticklers," but Sportsheets' Pleasure Feather feels more like a silky caress on the skin as opposed to an irritating tickle. Dragging, twirling, or tapping it across any external area of the body can add quite a bit of extra pleasure to either solo or couples foreplay.
This one is extra nice because it's small enough to be easy to store or travel with, durable, and highly affordable.

The design is simple; just a cluster of dyed feathers secured inside of a 1" long soft plastic holder, with a 6" long loop of nylon strap attached. The feathers, which we're fairly certain are rooster hackles, are very flexible and silky feeling all over, with small fluffs at the base of the quill. They are arranged in a starburst-like pattern inside the holder, so the tips splay outward when you look at the tickler from the topside. There are roughly 20 of them in varying lengths, yet because none of the feather stick up directly in the center, it gives you a more wispy-feeling tickler. And in case anyone is wondering, no, they don't smell like anything.

The Pleasure Feather is very well made, durable enough that you can shake it roughly or even give a little whap to your lover's skin (which is an entirely different feeling altogether) without any of the feathers coming out. We've even tugged on them a bit to test the strength, and still no feathers came out.
Used in a vertical position (handle up) the Pleasure Feather teases roughly a 6" wide path that is great for larger areas of the body, like the thighs or back. Held at an angle, it's possible to single out a few feather tips for areas like the jaw line or the nipples. Using firmer strokes gives a different sensation than lighter ones do, so it's best to experiment with both the angles and the pressure to figure out what you like where.

If you're used to the feather-on-a-stick type of ticklers, having only a small holder to pinch can take some getting used to, but it does work. The only issue we had with the design is that the the wrist strap seems to be more of an across-the-back-of-the-hand strap and isn't really necessary to help maneuver the toy. It doesn't get in the way or anything, we just didn't find it useful.

Care and Maintenance:

The best way to care for your Pleasure Feather is to not allow it to come in contact with anything that would soil it, particularly lubricants, sweat or other body fluids. Since this toy didn't come with any packaging whatsoever, you'll need to store it somewhere where it won't be damaged. We suggest using a Ziploc bag with a little air in it to keep the feathers from being crushed. You can also use the wrist strap to hang it somewhere, and if dust accumulates you can just shake it out or use a soft makeup brush to wipe it off.
While it isn't recommended that feathers be "wet" cleaned, you might be able to save a tickler in the event that you do get lube or fluids on it like so:

In a large mixing bowl, add a teaspoon of dish washing detergent (we prefer Dawn) to roughly 1/2 gallon of warm water, and mix well. Swish the feather in the solution, being careful to avoid getting water in the holder, and do NOT tug at them or scrub them. Pour out the soapy water and replace it with fresh water, then swish some more. When you're done, shake off the excess water and either lay the tickler on a towel to dry or use a blow dryer on low heat setting. We generally do a combo of both with our ticklers; blow-drying for a little while and using our fingers to smooth the feathers before laying it down to finish drying.
Experience
Alan says:
All in all this is an excellent toy that stands up to use better than many others that we've tried have.

Michele says:
We forgot to mention that if you like getting freaky in the car, this is something you could easily hang from your rear view mirror as a decoration, without anyone knowing what you really have it in there for. The sun and heat would probably make it not last too long, but at this price it wouldn't be a big deal to replace it once in awhile.

Thanks for the great review! I really appreciated the info about what do in case one gets their tickler wet with lube or other fluids - I'll have to keep those instructions in mind.

PS: What colour did you end up getting? Did you like it?

We got the violet one and it's gorgeous. It's super dark (almost black) with an iridescent teal and burgundy sheen on top of the feathers.

Yeah my Sportsheets tickler stood up to the terror of the cat too, in that it hardly lost feathers. They actually have a great product.

This sounds like a really great tickler, especially for the price. I really like the cleaning instructions, as well. Thanks.
