If you are interested in some light BDSM this is a great paddle to begin with, and it is also suited towards people who are sensitive to pain. The paddle is lightweight and therefore limits the amount of pain inflicted when used for the intended use of, but still delivers a pretty nice sting.

The entire length of this paddle is 12 ½ inches, measures 2 inches wide at the contact end and the handle is one inch wide. The top of the paddle is made of scentless pink faux leather with XOXO cut-outs on the widest end. I was under the impression that the cut outs would leave a mark on the skin, but because the faux leather is so thin, and the paddle overall is so lightweight, no marks are left from the cut outs.





Under the cut-outs is a shiny material that resembles vinyl, but feels like plastic. Under the plastic like piece is a thin layer of cardboard, which I am only aware of because it sticks out in several places all around the edges of my paddle. This cardboard clearly ends about an inch and a half from the end of the paddle because at this point it is easily bendable. The bottom of the paddle is the same faux leather as the top, but is black with no cut outs and is slightly thicker.





In the space where is cardboard is absent is a small metal piece displaying the manufactures’ name “Sportsheets” creating a hole in which a string can be placed to hang the paddles

I was a little disappointed in the overall craftsmanship of my paddle because in several places on the top the stitching is uneven, and even doubles over giving it a less than perfect look. I can excuse the stitching, but what is really upsetting is the unevenness of the edges. In several places the cardboard center sticks out further than the pink faux leather, and the edges of the pink faux leather are fraying slightly. I’m also kind of bummed that my paddle didn’t come with the cord to hang it up.

The lightness of this paddles means you are going to get a slight sting. I would say it feels like getting popped with a thick rubber band, and the feeling quickly fades. As a beginner paddle it works fantastic, and was exactly what I was looking for. I am a little disappointed that there was no XOXO impression left. Actually when using this paddle there was barley any visible markings left on the skin.

Because this is a faux leather paddle is requires little attention. You can simply wipe it with a damp cloth or wipe to clean it. I would advise you don’t submerge any part of the paddle as doing so will likely deteriorate the cardboard inside and render the paddle useless.

I wish the quality had been better with this paddle, but for the price I'm not complaining too much. Had it been better it definitely would have gotten 4-5 stars from me, but sadly showing cardboard and uneven stitching means I don't feel comfortable giving it such a high rating.
