A little love tap this is not. The Lover's Super Strap is a riding crop with a heart shaped tip to be used during BDSM play with your lover. I will preface this review by saying that I am not very experienced in BDSM and pain play; in fact I am very new to it. I have just recently taken a liking to spanking and have acquired a cute heart shaped paddle and a light rubber whip. I have enjoyed the other toys so much I figured I would step it up a little bit and get a crop. I went with this heart shaped one since I found the heart top very non-intimidating, and thought my partner and I could have some fun with this. I was not prepared for just how much this would sting. I am a beginner; I would not recommend this toy for beginners unless you have a partner with a gentle touch that you completely trust. A good smack with this crop will sting and hurt. If that's what you are into, this crop would make a stylish addition to your toy chest. If you can't handle the pain, I would not suggest purchasing this.

The Lover's Super Strap is about 25 inches long. The tip of the crop is heart shaped and made from faux-leather. The packaging that the Lover's Super Strap came in states that the tip is leather, while the product page here on Eden Fantasys states faux-leather. I am going to go with Eden Fantasys' product material description on this one. The heart measures 3 inches across and is 2.5 inches long. The faux-leather that the heart is made from is about 1/8 of an inch thick. The heart tip is connected to the shaft of the toy by thick red thread that extends down about 3.5 inches.




The total length of the shaft of the Lover's Super Strap is 16.25 inches. Aside from the red thread keeping the tip in place, the rest of the shaft is covered in a thick, weaved nylon material. The shaft of the Lover's Super Strap is very rigid; if you wanted to use the shaft for caning I'm sure you could.



The handle at the bottom of the Lover's Super Strap is about 6 inches long, it gradually flares out to a diameter of 3/4 of an inch at the very bottom. The handle is made from a textured red rubber. The rubber has a small amount of drag to it; not as much as silicone does, but enough to not be slick. The nubs on the handle make the Lover's Super Strap easy to get a grip on and could even provide some stimulation if you use that end to rub on your partner. There is a hole in the rubber on the underside of the handle that could accumulate fluids, so I would not recommend using the handle for insertion, as it would be difficult to clean.

As I mentioned earlier, I am a beginner when it comes to BDSM and pain play. When I first got the Lover's Super Strap my partner gave me a good whack with it and my eyes welled up. It hurt! I like the bit of pain some spanking can produce, but I was totally unprepared for the sting that came with this. If you enjoy more pain than a hand or paddle can produce, you may enjoy this crop. We still use this, just very lightly. I do enjoy hearing the crack and snap that the heart shaped top produced when it is smacked against my skin; it is still pretty loud with even just gentle tapping. I imagine with a heavy enough hand it would even produce heart shaped marks and bruises.

So far the Lover's Super Strap has held up well for us. I have not had any issues with the thread at the top coming loose or fraying. We do use this toy pretty lightly, but it seems to be sturdy enough to hold up to heavier uses; we are not quite there yet but maybe some day.

The crop top on the Lover's Super Strap is made from faux-leather which is water resistant. If you need to it can be washed with warm water and a mild, detergent-free soap. Same goes for the rubber handle at the base of the Lover's Super Strap. Personally, I try not to get this toy too messy and only wipe it down with a Eden Fantasys' toy wipe if needed. As I mentioned before, the handle has a hole in the base of the rubber that fluid could accumulate down into and could make it difficult to clean it out should you insert it into you or your partner's body. Also neither the packaging nor the product page mention exactly what kind of rubber material the handle is made from so it's unclear if it is porous or not. (*Editor's note: All rubber is porous)

The Lover's Super Strap comes in a simple plastic sleeve with a cardboard top on it describing the crop. It was very minimal and definitely not discrete. I saved it long enough to snap a picture of it, then I tossed it.
