A Lackluster Viking

There are a few good things about the Viking like the soft feel and the nice stretch it will give you. It's even quiet so you can feel safe using it with people home. However, it can get bumped on to the lowest setting too easily, and a lot of people may find that they can't actually stimulate both a clitoris and a g-spot at the same time because of how short the little arm actually is.

Use

This toy is meant to deliver dual stimulation as you use it, and if your anatomy is the right shape you'll be able to do that. The shaft may be too long for some people to use it vaginally and have the petal stimulate the clitoris at the same time, but if you toss a condom on it you could use it anally and use the petal to stimulate the perenium.

The Viking has some good points if you're looking for specific features, but for most people looking to get a new toy or a first toy, there are better options in this price point.

Material / Texture

The Viking is made of TPR and is meant to be fairly realistic in both design and feel. Running a finger across it feels pretty close to running a finger over actual skin, although it's slightly smoother. Surprisingly it doesn't pick up lint at all, but it will pick up stronger scents from your lube or your cleaner, depending how neutral they smell.

Design / Shape / Size

The Viking clocks in at an overall 9 1/2" long with a little over 5" being insertable. The head starts small and then tapers into a larger shaft, which, despite the give that the material has when you grab it with your hand, still feels a bit bigger than its 5" around once inserted. The veins are nice to look at but seem to get lost in translation once in use. The stimulating arm is set pretty low, only coming up about 3/4" or so.

This guy will work best for those who know they can take a toy pretty deep and like it on the girthier side. It is firm enough to provide a fair amount of g-spot stimulation, but almost too thick to thrust without an excess of lubrication. It's most definitely not discreet, but should travel well so long as you remove the batteries.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The first thing you need to do when you've got your Viking in your hand is track down a pair of AA batteries. There's absolutely nothing in the packaging or the toy itself to indicate which way they're supposed to go once you unscrew the base, so you're going to have to take a stab as to which one is positive side up and which one is negative. On the plus side, you've got a 50/50 shot of getting it right on the first try.

Controlling the vibrations from there is a breeze; just twist one way to turn them on and the other to turn them off. The dial is very sensitive while it's in the off position; very easily turning on to the lowest setting and sitting there until you either turn it off or up. The vibrations themselves are located just under the head in a large bullet that you can see through the translucent material. They're on the quieter side, which is good, but not terribly powerful, which may work well for some.

The Viking is advertised as being waterproof. There's an o-ring at the base of the dial to keep water out of the battery compartment, but it isn't terribly thick. It survived cleaning, but there are better choices if you want to fully submerge something without worrying about it.

Care and Maintenance

The packaging gave no instructions of any kind, so treat this guy like you'd treat the rest of your TPR toys. Clean it after every use with warm soapy water or your favorite toy cleaner. Take care to clean the grooves of the veins well so you don't end up with anything building up and not coming off. Spot test any lube you're not sure about or just go straight for your favorite water based lube. Keep it stored in a clean and cool, dry location.

Packaging

The Viking came shrink wrapped in a plastic bag that was easily cut off and recycled.

Experience

I can usually find a silver lining or redeeming quality in almost every situation or for every product. This one, ehhhhhhh. I like the internal stimulation I got on my g-spot, but no matter how deep I worked it in I just could not get it to also reach my clit at the same time. I was able to finish with it numerous times, but even those orgasms felt so lackluster; like I came to the peak and fell over the edge aaaaaaaaaaaand then got stuck right below it. The start was strong but the finish was so weak I almost might as well have not orgasmed at all.

Initially I gave this toy 2 stars, but after some back and forth discussions I gave it one more star, simply because the overall quality of material is there. I can definitely see where it would work well for someone who needs something that goes deep and has a lot of girth but doesn't want super strong vibrations, but it just won't work right for me and in all honesty I probably won't use it again because the few good things about it just don't seem to outweigh the bad.
