Use

The Wavy G vibrator is designed to be a G-spot toy, but would also make a good clitoral stimulator for people who like buzzy vibrations of medium intensity. It can also be used to tease other erogenous zones, including the anus, but between the small size and lack of a wide base it wouldn't be safe for full-on anal play.

Material / Texture

This is a very rigid vibrator, presumably having an ABS plastic core under the padding of matte silicone. The silicone is soft to the touch with just the slightest amount of "give" when you squeeze it so it isn't entirely unforgiving to whatever body part you press it. Like most silicone, it attracts lint easily and creates a fair bit of drag against the skin, yet it becomes slick with very little lubricant, either natural or commercial lubricants.

Design / Shape / Size

The Wavy G measures just a little over 5" long overall, about four of which is insertable, with a 1" wide wavy shaft that ends in a 1.25" wide angled knob for targeting the G-spot or for more ergonomic solo clit play. It’s small enough that it's easy to store or to travel with, and women of any experience level should have no problems inserting it. The angled knob does make finding the G-spot easy, but it isn't really suited to use for pinpoint clit stimulation since it spreads vibrations over a wider, more general area.

On the bottom of the shaft is a cap that twists off so you can insert a single AA sized battery (not included) and on the bottom of the cap is a wide push button to control the vibrations.

Though the package boasts that the Wavy G is "Waterproof," the microscopic fine print on the back goes on to say that it isn't for use in a tub or pool. We tested this, and though the cap seals well enough that the toy can be used in the shower or washed under running water without any problems, moisture does get inside if you submerge it for long. "Splashproof" or "Water Resistant" would be more accurate terms.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The push button works well in that it's easy to press but not so easy that one could accidentally change the vibration level during use. There are 10 settings to choose from: High, Medium, and Low steady vibrations (in that order) and then 7 different patterns of pulsing and/or escalating vibrations. Each one requires a new click of the button, rather than being able to hold it down to cycle through them. Holding it down turns the toy off.

Wavy G's controls also sport a rather unusual memory function of sorts. When you turn the toy off it remembers the setting, and when you turn it on again it starts on the setting *after* the one previously used. In other words, if you turned the toy off when you were using the High speed, the next time you use it will come on at Medium speed and you'll need to cycle through all the settings to get back to High. This can be a bit inconvenient for people who are fond of one setting only, and the backwards sequence of High-Medium-Low isn't ideal for people who like to start on a gentler setting and ramp of the intensity as they get closer to orgasm.

The vibrations are the high-frequency buzzy variety which will appeal to those who prefer a tingling sensation as opposed to a deep massaging rumble, and they're of an average intensity. If your clit or G-spot isn't overly sensitive or doesn't need a serious power tool, the Wavy G should do. Most of the vibrations are concentrated in the end of the toy, but a fair bit does travel along the shaft as well.

The noise level of this toy is reasonably low, so while somebody who is nearby will hear the whining buzz, it's not likely to be heard through walls or closed doors even without any background noise.

Care and Maintenance

Because of the material's anti-bacterial property, it takes nothing more than soap and water or a bit of toy cleaner to clean the Wavy G. It's compatible with any water-based sex lubes, and doesn't require anything special for storage or maintenance. We *would* suggest putting it in a Ziploc bag or some other lint-free wrap before storing it anywhere that it may pick up a lot of lint or dust.

Experience

Alan says: Provided that your partner does enjoy the kind of vibrations this toy offers, it's not a bad choice for couples. It's easy to fit between you during sex and doesn't get in the way if you want to combine it with a little oral.

Michele says: From a purely objective point of view it's a nice little toy that I can't really find much to fault, aside from the erroneous waterproof claim, but personally it's just not my thing. The high-frequency vibes are irritating to my G-spot, and not strong enough to get me off any time soon when used as a clit toy. Bummer since I really do like the design.

Great review, sorry it wasn't the type of vibrations you need. I need deep and rumbly with some intensity behind it as well.
