A Remarkably Weak Wave

The Tsunami stimulator is appealing to look at, easy to operate, and waterproof. However, the vibrations are disappointingly weak and covered in two jelly layers, which isn't the safest material out there. If you desire toys that vary in thickness or are very sensitive, go for it; if you are a power queen or like your toys uniform, look elsewhere.

Use

The Tsunami Stimulator is a traditional vibrator that can be used for clitoral stimulation. Its size also lends it well to use for vaginal insertion. For those who are more sensitive or enjoy weaker vibrations, this would most likely function well as a clitoral vibrator. Its design also lends itself to use as a vibrating dildo, although it is not labeled as such.

This toy will work for most users, with the exception of those that enjoy powerful, pinpoint vibrations. These particular users may wish to use it for insertion. Because the vibrations are more moderate, beginners would enjoy it.

I have used this toy in solo situations, but I could easily envision it being used in partner situations as well, mainly for foreplay or teasing. Although most likely designed with female users in mind, this toy is not overwhelmingly gender-specific and could potentially be used by males during masturbation, especially around the head of the penis.

Although most clitoral vibrators are not meant for anal use, I believe that this one could be used anally primarily because of its length and design, especially the bulged middle. This would prevent it from becoming lost or lodged during anal play. Also, the controls are anchored to the toy by a base, making it safer as well.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of jelly, which earns a 2 on the EdenFantasys safety scale. For this reason, I ALWAYS use a condom during all play with this toy, whether that includes clitoral stimulation, insertion, or both. This has become common practice for me with ALL of my jelly toys, and I highly recommend it.

Despite this material's lack of safety, it is pleasant to the touch. It has a soft, yielding feel to it, even when sheathed. The tip of the toy beyond the bulged part is somewhat bendable, which can be useful during clitoral stimulation. Beginners may find pliable toys such as this one more enjoyable than hard materials. However, if you are someone who requires toys constructed from firm materials, pass on this one.

This material has no taste. It has a slight, moderate smell that disappears after one or two uses. In addition, upon removing it from the package, I found that it had a slightly moist and sticky residue on the surface. It soon became unnoticeable because of the condom I immediately placed on it, but this may irritate some users.

Design / Shape / Size

I did not personally enjoy the design of this toy. What was surely intended to be pleasurable for some users simply did not work favorably for me. This toy has an overall length of 7 inches with an insertable length of 6 inches. The length, in my opinion, is a good feature and will satisfy most users.

This is where my dissatisfaction lies: the bottom of the Tsunami, near the controls, is a straight, relatively slim part that gradually forms into what I can best describe as a bulged middle. The circumference of the bottom is 3 inches, while the circumference surrounding the "bulge" is 5.25 inches. It is possible that I would enjoy this toy more if it were a uniform size. If you are someone who likes one toy with varying sizes, I would strongly consider this toy. I, for one, found this bulge to be uncomfortable, which took away from my overall experience.

I would not suggest the insertion aspect of this toy for beginners, virgins, or those with vaginas on the admittedly smaller side (like myself).

This toy is larger than a few others that I own, so it is not as easy to hide. Even so, I find that tilting it sideways and sliding it into one of my toy pouches is useful. It would be suitable for travel, especially if you're going to a hotel with an in-room hot tub!

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Tsunami stimulator is powered by 2 AAA batteries. It does not appear to be a battery guzzler. It is listed as having 4 vrooms, but I would rank the vroom level at 3 (at best). The vibrations are located in the bulged part of the toy in the middle. Upon turning this toy on and squeezing the middle part tightly with my fingers, I could clearly feel the vibrations. But when I placed it on my clit, I felt almost nothing. With further investigation, I discovered that the motor is covered by two layers of jelly: one which tightly surrounds it, with the other acting as a kind of "capsule."

For some, this would be a welcome refuge from strong vibrations, but I thought that these layers were simply depriving me of some well-deserved clitoral vibrations! However, for extremely sensitive users or beginners, this hierarchy of jelly just might be welcomed.

This toy is operated by a convenient, uncomplicated dial-base control. On the base of the control, the words "low" and "high" are displayed in small letters. Simply twist the dial toward the power level of your choice, and experience the wave! It literally could not be more simple. You will soon find as you twist the dial that the noise dramatically increases, even more than the power. I found it difficult to muffle the noise of this toy on the highest setting with a pillow or blanket, and it could probably be heard faintly through a door.

I brought this toy on an excursion into the shower with me, and it performed very well. The water covers up the noise, which is always helpful!

Care and Maintenance

Because I use condoms when I wish to experience this Tsunami, this toy is incredibly easy to care for. Again, I would strongly suggest condom usage (or at least that of some form of toy cover) with this toy due to its porousness and low rating on the safety scale. If you do not sheath it before use, I would suggest thoroughly cleaning it with soap and water, or some kind of toy cleaner, after each use.

I store this toy in a "toy pouch" with other toys, although I tuck it away in a pocket because of its porousness.

Do not use this toy with silicone lubricants, as these will soften the toy and "melt" it over time.

Packaging

This toy arrives in plastic shell packaging that is characteristic of many moderately-priced sex toys. There are no instructions included; to be fair, these are not exactly necessary due to the extreme ease of operation. I recycled this packaging.

If you're looking for discreet packaging, you've come to the wrong place. It displays the words "tsunami stimulator" in large letters, along with a rather flirtatious-looking woman in a Baywatch style swimsuit and a man who looks as though he wants to drag her off to the next room. If this toy is a gift, I would suggest wrapping it in something else.

Follow-up commentary
This toy was ousted from my collection a long time ago. Between the bulged design and the fact that vibrations did not transmit through the sleeve-like cover, I simply did not want it taking up space among my other, better toys. I actually sighed with relief when getting rid of it!

Great review! This is one very strange toy! I've never seen anything like it before. Thanks for including details and the photo! It looks cute, but I will have to pass. Seems really pricey for a cheap vibe with such weak vibrations... I agree on the funny shape. The sudden width would seem painful or at least uncomfortable. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the review. Jelly and weak vibrations are not a winning combination. I'll pass on this.
