Charisma waterproof mini - traditional vibrator by Cal Exotics - review by Ryuson

If you were stranded on a desert island, and you had to pick a small toy under $20 with a turndial base, the Charisma Waterproof Mini might be a good bet. Unfortunately, if you are not in this scenario, there are better options out there.

This oversized bullet is good for clitoral stimulation, along with other external erogenous zones. The length of it is nice because you can lay it across your labia and rest it on your clitoris, or it is good if you like taking long strokes while it is resting on your clit.

Being so long, you can also use it for shallow insertion. Please do not use this anally, if only because if can get lost! It has no flared base and no handle at all, making this one of the least anal-safe toys I've seen!

Though it is rigid, it is good for some external couple play, and also for someone new to toys. Another pro is that this is waterproof, making it a nice bathtime buddy that you can easily tuck into a towel.

This is made out of a firm plastic, that has a smooth, satiny feel to it. Plastic comes in at an 8 out of 10 on the safety scale because, while it is nonporous and easy to clean, if you try and boil it you will end up with a melted toy and a sad you. It had no scent or taste out of the package, and hasn't retained either since.

The smooth softness of the Charisma Waterproof Mini is nice because it glides across skin very well. This means that you need little lube, if any at all, and it becomes slick and smooth in the shower. The con to this, however, is that it is a bit tough to hold on to! Becoming slippery so easily, it can slip and slide right out of your grip, potentially ruining the mood in sexy shower play.

It would be good for either a beginner or advanced user because of the softness and safety of the plastic. The plastic is also very convenient because it is easy to care for. It does not attract lint in the slightest meaning that you can toss it in a drawer or overnighter without fear of it looking like a lintroller when you need it most.

While it isn't anything new or exciting, if simplicity is what you need I would recommend this. It is very straight and tapers off to a bit of the point at the tip. This is makes it very versatile because you can either use the side of the toy for more broad stimulation, which I prefer, of for more pinpoint stimulation with the point.

It is 4.5" long, with an insertable length of 3.5". While this can be inserted, it won;t do much for your G spot unless it is shallow and easy to please. Another note about the dimensions is that it is only 3" in circumference, so if you enjoy girth in your toys you will be sorely disappointed in the Charisma Waterproof Mini.

My biggest problem with this toy design wise is the lack of a handle. It looks like the raised silver ridges would work as a fingerhold, but they don't help much when it comes down to it.It makes it difficult to keep hold of, especially in the shower, and makes using it internally difficult because it is hard to maneuver. I wish that it was a bit more ergonomic than it is.

I would say that while it is a bit boring, the design is straightforward and would be good for beginner or advanced users. I feel that everyone should have something like this in their toybox. It is suitable for travel because of the small size and the smooth plastic, and is also easy to hide. Unfortunately, you could not leave this on a bedstand table without arousing suspicion.

This is a fairly powerful little toy, especially for the noise levels. I would rate it at 2 bees on the highest setting, and a solid 3 vrooms. This is nice because living in a dorm I need something discreet and manageable, which this is.

The vibrations carry evenly throughout the entire toy, which is nice because it means that you can use it many different ways for stimulation. They can be finger numbing if you plan on using it a while, but I find that it is a product of the plastic transmitting vibrations so well.

I do most of my playing in the public dormitory showers, and this is perfectly fine for that! It is quiet enough that it is completely covered up by the sound of the showers, so I have no worries at all about the noise levels. You also can not hear then though a door or thin walls, making this ideal for people that share a house with people you don't want to disturb.

It has a turn-dial bottom that is nice because it is difficult to accidentally change settings, but that is where the pros end. I have found that my biggest problem with this toy could have been solved simply by giving it a push-button control. When you go to turn the base in order to power it on, the battery compartment turns open more easily than the base! This means that while it is completely waterproof and has a thick O-ring, I end up exposing the internal mechanics to moisture unnecessarily. I have to take extreme caution when turning the dial base in the shower, but even then since my hands are slick and the toy is slick, I start to unscrew the battery compartment anyways.

I feel like there are three distinct setting for this one. The first one is barley there, a very "Meh." setting
The second is more of a "Hmm" setting, which a nice 1.5 vrooms.
The third one is a huge jump up to three vrooms, and after the second settings it is a bit "Oh goodness!"

I have trouble finding the settings, especially if I am in the shower, so I usually just either have it all the way on or all the way off for ease of use.

This is very easy to take care of, and I have come to really enjoy that. Because it is plastic, it can come in contact with silicone, plastic, or jelly toys without any concerns with the materials reacting. This also means that you can use any type of lubricant on it and not have to worry. I wash mine after each use with toy cleaner and water, but soap or toy wipes would work just as well.

I keep it in a cool, dark place with my other toys. Remember kids; always store your toys with the batteries out! It makes both your toys and what powers them last longer!

This toy comes in a flimsy plastic box, like many other California Exotics toys. This has a clear window in the front where you can see your Charisma Waterproof Mini, and the back has an image of the toy and some basic information. This means that it isn't exactly discreet, and it is pretty obvious what it is, but there are no naked women on the front.

I store mine in the packaing, but it is a bit bulky and will probably find a better alternative soon. I would be apathetic about wrapping it in it's current box only if my friend had already used sex toys.

This is a pleasant to use toy, but unfortunately I just didn't like it as much as my Birthstones. They are both essentially extra long bullet and, while I think that everyone needs at least one, this might not be the best.

I enjoy using it in the shower, and the ease of maintenance is always a plus, but I just don't see this becoming one of my favorites. I really like the ability to hold it against my labia and get clitoral stimulation, but the unscrewing the cap problem just doesn't make it worth it for me.
