Bendables? More like Breakables.

The Bendables Nubby works well as a very basic vibrator, but I would not rely on it for g-spot stimulation. The vibrations are okay, but be prepared to use another toy (or hand) if you want to orgasm. I would recommend it to folks who like small, squishy toys.

Use

The Bendables Nubby from Cal Ex is a traditional nubbed vibrator that can be used both internally and externally. The user is supposed to be able to bend it to create an angle ideal for g-spot stimulation, but that is not a strong feature of this toy. I used this vibe for solo play, but I'm sure it could be used to spice up sex with partners, as well. Since I only used this vaginally and on my clitoris, I am not sure if I would recommend it as an anal toy.

Material / Texture

The Bendables Nubby is made from jelly and plastic. It is covered in small, round nubs.

I would have liked the nubs if the jelly hadn't irritated my vaginal walls. I was irresponsible when using this toy; I did not cover it first. If you are sensitive to jelly or phthalates, do not make the same mistake I did!

The jelly material gives this toy an unpleasant odor, but it's not TOO strong. It sort of resembles the smell of burning plastic. You won't smell it unless you bring the toy near your face. When I first took the toy out of the package, it had a slightly gummy texture that went away after I washed it with mild soap and warm water.

I like the squishiness of the jelly. I do NOT like how much lint it picks up, though.

Design / Shape / Size

The first thing that I noticed about this toy was that it is very small. I don't need much girth to satisfy me, but I could have used another inch, lengthwise. For beginners, or folks who like smaller toys, this one may be a perfect fit.

Here is the size in relation to my hand:

Insertable length:
4"
Circumference:
4 1/2"
Diameter:
1 3/8"

The design of this toy is a good idea, but it didn't work very well. I was able to bend the shaft slightly, but it never stayed bent for very long after insertion.

This is what the toy looks like bent:

After fiddling around with the toy's bending motions for a little while, I bent it just a little too far -- it broke! The vertebrae-like section of the toy (which allows it to bend at different degrees) came apart from the base. There doesn't seem to be a way to fix it, and the shaft is now even less likely to stay bent.

This vibe is not discreet at all.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Aside from the issues with the bending, the Bendables Nubby functions decently. Its vibrations are controlled by a dial at its base. Turn it to the right to power it on, and keep turning to increase the power. I really like toys with dials, because you can set it to the exact speed you want. This is probably the toys best feature. Otherwise, it lacks a lot of the things that I look for in a toy. It's not waterproof, and there are no pulsating patterns. There's also no intense g-spot stimulation. It's very basic.

The lowest setting is low and rumbly, and the highest is high and buzzy.

This vibe is pretty quiet on its lowest setting, but it gets sort of loud. On the highest setting, if the toy is vibrating on its own and not touching anything, it could be heard through the covers, but not through a closed door. However, if you touch the top part of the toy while it's turned all the way up, it gets VERY noisy and can be heard through a closed door.

Overall, the toy is very user-friendly.

Care and Maintenance

To wash this toy, I use warm water and mild soap. Unfortunately, no amount of washing will make the icky smell go away. Because it is not waterproof, I like to go ahead and take out the batteries when I wash it, just as a safe measure.

DO NOT store this toy with other jellies. I would recommend keeping it in its original packaging. In my opinion, it's not a nice enough toy to buy a special pouch for or anything, and I would keep it away from my nicer toys to avoid causing damage to them.

Packaging

This toy comes in a clear, plastic package that is easy to open - simply pull apart the plastic. On the package, there is a picture of a clothed woman with her legs spread, and another picture of the toy.

As you can see, it is not at all discreet.

It also comes with instructions for batteries and use. However, the instructions are not specific to the toy. I have a feeling that they are the same directions that are sold with most Cal Ex jelly vibrators.

To store the toy, I put it back in its original packaging and toss it in my toy bag.

Personal comments

This is my first and LAST jelly toy.

Experience

When I was using this toy, I had a few issues. The nubs felt really nice at first, but it didn't take long before my vagina reacted poorly to the jelly. It wasn't bad enough for me to stop, though.

My next issue was the length. I inserted it as far as it would go, until only the little plastic dial was sticking out. I wish that either the base was bigger, or that the toy was longer, because I had some trouble holding onto such a small part. Once I was all lubed up, thrusting became even more difficult, because the toy was so slippery. In order to orgasm, I ended up inserting the toy vaginally and holding it in place by the dial, and applying pressure to the base, while I rubbed my clit with a finger from my other hand. It was not a hands-free ride, to say the least.
Follow-up commentary
I really didn't like this toy when I first got it, but I stuck with it long enough to figure out a way to use it that would suit my needs. Instead of using it for penetration, I now use it as a clitoral vibrator. It works wonders! However, I still wouldn't recommend it.

I totally wouldn't recommend this as an anal toy! It's small, squishy and a hungry but could Nom Nom Nom it right on up.

Seems like this toy just kinda misses being a really good one on all accounts. Shame....cause it's a cute looking little thing!
