Big fun on a small budget!

Overall, this toy didn't blow me away or disappoint. For its price of just over $20, this toy is definitely worth it if you're on a budget and want something with variable vibes. This girth might be too much for some, but he's a nice "average" fit that most people should love. If you want a pretty good vibe for just a little cash, this is great. If you have the money to spend, I'd advise upgrading!

Use

I got this vibrator as a gift to myself after much deliberation over EdenFantasy's line of cheaper, thicker vibrators. First, the pink Hottie has a nice "bulb" at the end which makes it a lot safer for anal use than other similar vibrators. Secondly, he is just the size I was looking for and can be used for thrusting along with delivering powerful vibrations. And third, he's just cute and sexy. Of course, this toy is marketed toward females for vaginal use, but with some extra care (and common sense!) it can certainly be safely used anally. At the bottom of the top of the Hottie's shaft and extending onto the "bulb" are nubs meant for clitoral stimulation, once inserted. For obvious reasons, I won't be reviewing this particular feature.

This is a great toy to have when you're looking to pleasure yourself without worrying about pain or having to go too slowly for your own liking. The Hottie's length is just about perfect, and his girth is pleasantly filling. This hot pink fellow can be a great way to unwind, and the dual thrusting and vibrating sensations drive me wild. Although at first I was dubious of its quality, I learned during use that this toy is definitely worth having around; especially for its price!

Material / Texture

I have such mixed feelings about this vibe's material. Rubber has never been my favorite material (I've spoiled myself with silicone), but I would say this vibe's advertisement as "soft" is a bit misleading. The vibrator part--not removable, by the way--makes the entire toy pretty stiff, and its material doesn't lend itself to being super-squishy or lifelike, regardless. However, it does have more give at the final couple of inches due to the vibrating bits not extending that far up the shaft.

The material feels smooth, with more than a little drag with dry fingers. The material is slick and compatible with all water-based lubes I have used, and its stylized veins and can easily be seen and felt. The texture doesn't come close to being easily felt inside me, other than the toy's head, but please take this with a grain of salt if you're planning on using this toy exclusively for vaginal use!

As far as smell and taste go, bah. Anyone with a rubber toy knows what to expect for both of those concerns. It tastes somewhat like a Ziploc bag (I don't recommend this one for oral use!) and smells like an unscented latex condom. But hey, he's waterproof!

Some good news I discovered after doing some online research is that the manufacturer's (Cal Exotics) product information database says this toy and its purple cousin are both phthalate-free. The product packaging I received also advertised it as being phthalate-free, but the EF product page made no mention of this when I ordered. The Cal Exotics database outright lists many of its products as containing phthalates, so I doubt the manufacturer has decided to lie about this specific toy. I haven't seen or experienced any tell-tale signs such as leeching, either. Being fairly certain this toy is phthalate-free was a load off my mind.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of this vibe is definitely interesting; it has a semi-realistic design with a very vibrant pink color, which makes the tone of the toy fun and unintimidating (despite its larger size for a vibrator). Sometimes "realistic" toys end up looking kind of grotesque and strange, especially rubber ones, but the pink Hottie definitely has an attractive design, while still looking cute and unique. The only thing I can think of that may be a problem to potential users is its veins and ridged area beneath the head. I personally like these details and their being the same color as the rest of the toy makes them pretty non-distracting, but if you're very texture-sensitive, be aware the pink Hottie has veins extending all around the top and sides of the shaft.

The length of this Hottie comes in at about 5.5" insertable, and around 7.75" overall. His shaft is 5.0" around and is fairly thick for something categorized as a "traditional vibrator." If you're wanting to compare this realistic toy to real men, and statistics are to be believed, this guy really is just about the perfect size if you prefer average-sized men. I love this toy's size; the length and girth are perfectly pleasing without me having to think either "That's it?" or "Oh gosh, there's more?!"

Other than the obvious bulb-like base, I would say this toy is very straight in design. The head is barely flared and not very large, which makes the pink Hottie great for comfortable entry. For anal use, the bulbous end with the large nubs should be more than enough resistance to stop your butt from taking your toy farther than you want it to go. I've used this one several times and have never felt even remotely worried about the possibility; however, everyone's bodies are different so I can't make any guarantees as far as that end.

As far as for whom this toy is best-suited, I'd say anyone between the beginner-intermediate range. His girth may be more than some are bargaining for in a vibrator, but truthfully, this toy is not extremely thick or long; pink Hottie fits safely within the average range in both respects. He is not the easiest to hide, and I definitely recommend removing all batteries between uses! This toy looks like a pink, veiny vibrating cock--not my definition of discreet. However, if you've got discreet storage or simply aren't concerned, there's nothing wrong with this toy, size and appearance-wise.

Functions / Performance / Controls

As you may have guessed, this is my first "normal" vibe and my second vibrating toy. But even with my limited experience, I know the vibrations this toy delivers aren't exactly top-notch. The toy takes two AA batteries and uses a simple twist mechanism for turning the toy on and off. The more the knob is turned to the right, the stronger the vibrations get; nothing new to see here. It may be worth noting the pictured pink Hottie has a darker, pink, rubberized-looking grip on the knob, and mine is just plain, pale, pink plastic.

As I mentioned earlier, the harder vibrating core does not travel all the way up the shaft so the final couple of inches get less vibrations than other parts. On higher settings, this difference isn't as noticeable, but of course the vibrations aren't pin-pointed where you'd like them to be and the mechanism has no bells and whistles; no fancy vibration patterns or G/P-spot-targeting vibes here! To its credit, the lowest settings produce almost no noise and still feel pretty good, and the higher settings can feel pretty fantastic paired with thrusting but make a rather loud vibration that makes me think it's growling. I wouldn't recommend higher settings if you're worried about people overhearing your private time, but it's possible you could safely use the lower-powered vibrations.

The controls are definitely easy-to-use and beginner-friendly; this might be a good toy for someone just starting to explore the world of sex toys on a tight budget. This toy does come proudly announcing it's completely waterproof, but to be honest, I'm wary. The bottom compartment that stores that batteries comes off with a pretty light twist, and there is no locking mechanism to speak of. Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I'm not so sure I'd trust this toy in the tub or shower. But hey, it looks like others have done so with no problems, so please don't just take my word for it!

Overall, the performance of this toy is above what I expected from such an inexpensive vibe but less impressive than many other toys I own. If you're looking for a basic-function vibrator that can competently do some thrusting with a small price tag, this Hottie might be a good choice.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is rubber and the electrical parts are not removable. Because of this, cleaning is a little more complicated but still totally doable. After using this toy, I wash him off in hot tap water with antibacterial soap. I usually give this toy two or three thorough, soapy rinses before rinsing him off once more and drying him. I personally do not fully submerge this toy to clean it; I hold onto the knob with the batteries removed and directly wash only the rubber parts. The plastic dial at the base can be cleaned with a warm, wet washcloth if desired. Once dried, I place him back in his original easy-open clamshell packaging for storage.

Rubber cannot be fully sterilized so I highly advise against using this toy in more than one orifice without the use of condoms. The pink Hottie should be fine without condoms if you are planning on using him exclusively for vaginal or anal use on one person. As I mentioned above, the manufacturer's database lists this toy as phthalate-free, so you don't need to worry about any nasty toxins getting into your body.

Rubber toys are fairly versatile when it comes to lubes--I would recommend a silicone-based, water-based, or silicone/water hybrid lube for this vibe. Once this toy gets properly lubricated, he gets quite slippery, and the lube should last a while. This toy has a very "slip 'n' slide" feel once inserted, especially if you're planning on using him for thrusting. Depending on your preferences, this could be a good or bad thing; I wish he were a bit less slippery, but he's always a pleasure!

Packaging

This toy came packaged pretty minimally, which I prefer more often than not. Besides the toy itself, the package also contained a little fold-out instruction sheet and the endearingly cheesy product packaging advertising the toy's many features. The goofy design informs you that your new toy is "Sooooo Hot!" and that he's "Your Boyfriend, But Better!" Among such phrases are CalEx's logos indicating the toy is phthalate-free and waterproof. The instructions for using the vibrator were vague and obviously generalized, not specialized for your specific toy. However, the toy's design is pretty self-explanatory, and the instructions shouldn't be needed.

I'm not so sure how giftable the packaging for this toy is; since it's form-fitted, of course it could never be used for any other gift. And since the packaging is clear, everyone would be able to see the vibrator as just that--nothing is left to the imagination with this packaging! On a more positive note, the packaging without papers can easily be used for a no-hassle storage area for your new friend.

Follow-up commentary
Since buying this bright, pink cock, I have decided to shift myself away from less-than-safe materials. Due to its cheap material and loud buzzing, I have two very different reasons not to use this toy in my crowded home. This vibrator is still a fun toy for the infrequent times where I'm dying to have both strong, solid vibrations and thrusting at once, but it overall has become one of my least-used toys.
