Crystal Candy Rip-sicle

If you’re looking for something simple, attractive, easy to care for, and also desire something with a little bit of shape and delightful ridges; then the Crystal Candy Rip-sicle by California Exotic is a toy you should check out. The toy is phthalates-free hard plastic, and features a twist dial on the battery cap for variable speed control. The o-ring makes this a great choice for water play, and the gentle ripples of the shaft make massage feel great no matter where you use this toy.

extremely useful review
I must say that I found the Crystal Candy Rip-sicle|Crystal candy rip-sicle pleasing to the eye when I first saw it in its clear plastic box, all adorned with pink and purple stars. Something about the translucent reddish-pink plastic just spewed class and style to me. The ripples are lovely feeling no matter where I choose to use them. They are not so big as to be uncomfortable for internal use, nor are they so shallow as to not provide much sensation. I found them to bulge just the right amount. The shaft is slim with a diameter of 1 inch at the narrow section and 1 ¼ inches at the widest part of the toy. The smaller tapered end is just barely over ½ inch in diameter, and makes insertion a breeze. The toy is a total of 7 inches long, with 6 of those being insertable.

Being constructed of hard plastic, this toy does have some nice pluses to it. For starters any lube may be used with plastic, so you don’t have to worry about grabbing the wrong lube while using this toy. The vibrations are carried quite nicely throughout the entire toy, although I prefer the vibrations to be focused in the tip more. I found that the hardness along with the rippled design lends itself very nicely to using this toy to massage sore muscles as well as intimate massage. While plastic is easily cleaned with soap and water or toy cleaner, I would recommend a condom when sharing with a partner. This toy does look tempting to use anally, but the lack of a flanged base means that it is not safe|The hygiene of backdoor fun for backdoor play. I would seriously recommend not trying it anally at all, as plastic is very slippery when covered in lube and is difficult to keep a grip on.

The battery compartment is different than I have seen before. There is a plastic tube that you place the 2 AA batteries into, then you slide the plastic tube into the toy. There are some pros and cons to this kind of design. It is easy to take the tube out of the toy, but it is quite difficult to take the batteries out of the tube. I found that it is easiest to push one battery further inside of the tube to cause the other battery to pop out the other side far enough you can grab it and pull it out. The remaining battery needs to be pushed out with something else though. I found a pencil to be best, as I used the eraser end to prevent damaging the battery. I was also dismayed to discover that there is nothing indicating which way the batteries are to be inserted. The toy works no matter which end is facing upward, but I found it works much better when the positive end is up. Another little quirk is a metal tab that must be lined up with a notch in the plastic battery tube in order for the toy to be able to turn on. If you have this toy and it won’t turn on, check to make sure the little tab is lined up correctly. I find myself putting it in wrong quite often.

The cap fits on easily, and doesn’t seem to loosen during use at all. The dial can be difficult to turn from the “off” position to the “low” position, but once on, it turns easily. I didn’t really notice much variation in power from low to high, and found that the toy only has a moderate to low level of intensity. While I found this a little disappointing, I do realize that not everyone needs, or wants, an incredibly strong toy. The noise was also low, and that is a definite plus for someone looking for discreetness. While using this toy under a heavy comforter, it was not audible to me or my husband who was in bed next to me.

I have used this toy submerged in the bath tub, and am quite happy to say that the thick rubber O-ring keeps the inside of the toy bone dry. I am pleased that I can say this toy truly is waterproof as the box claims.

I would recommend this toy to anyone who is looking for a traditional vibrator|Sex toys reviews – Traditional vibrators and desires only moderately strong vibrations. The design is lovely, and the toy manages to be attractive and stimulating at the same time. This toy would be especially good for someone who is new to toys or want to upgrade from a very simple straight design to something with gentle ridges.
Experience
This toy is quite thin, but the ridges still make it quite stimulating when used for penetration. The vibrations didn’t add much to the experience for me, and I found that I preferred to just leave it turned off during penetration. My favorite use for this toy is for clitoral massage. The ridges are quite comfortable and stimulating, and with just a drop of lube the toy glides easily providing a pleasurable sensation. While the vibrations didn’t do much for me sexually, they are quite adequate for a temple massage. This is a great use for people who suffer from migraines or stress induced headaches.
Follow-up commentary
I have already broken this toy, sadly enough. I dropped it on a hard floor, causing the cap to break. I was a little disappointed that it broke, but it did land directly on the cap, so I can't say as I was surprised. I have tried to glue the broken piece back on with super glue, and it seems like it is working OK. I won't be using it in water though, just in case my glue job wasn't perfect. I don't use the vibrations the majority of the time, so it didn't exactly break my heart. I still enjoy it as a dildo.

The shape of this looks wonderful! If it had a stronger motor located closer to the tip, I'd grab it up in a second!

Yeah, those were the two things I was really wishing for in this toy. My hubby isn't into vibration much (unless it's delivered through a cock ring) but he actually grabbed this for a bath last night. It's usually a sign that a toy is too weak for me if he likes it ;)

It's really weird that the batteries can go in either way. Does one end of the battery compartment have a little spring (that usually goes with the negative end of battery)? I might worry about shorting it out...

I have a toy with a battery compartment like that. I don't think I like it. I think it's meant to be easier, but...

Nice review! I'm kind of concerned about the battery compartment too. It might not be a good thing if the batteries are causing the motor to run backwards due to improper installation...

There is a spring on the cap, but on the inside/bottom of the toy is a spike-like protrusion for the connector on the opposite end. With the negative end facing up towards the spring in the cap, the toy won't turn on until it is in the "high" setting on the control dial, whereas with the batteries facing positive up the toy will actually turn on on the "low" setting and allows moderate adjustment of the intensity. I make sure I screw the cap on tightly too, so I'm not sure exactly what gives with the battery installment. It hasn't shorted out on me yet, and seems to be working well with the batteries positive side up.
