Fun little toy

This toy turned out to be a nice little surprise. It's too small and buzzy to do much for my G-spot, but the size and shape make it an excellent clit toy. The flat, flexible head feels amazing on my clitoris and other external ladybits, and it would make a great beginner's toy.

First impression

I got this little guy as a freebie with one of my orders. Since it was free, I didn't really look at its size specifications, and when it arrived, I was surprised by how tiny it is. I guess because it's sold as an insertable G-spot toy, I expected it to be larger. However, it's still a great little toy, and I'm glad to have it in my collection!

The Smoother arrived in Eden's usual nondescript brown shipping box with some other purchases. Not even the sender ("Web Merchants Inc.") will give any nosy neighbours or housemates any clue as to what's contained inside your package, so those with privacy concerns can rest easy. The Smoother itself was contained inside a simple sealed plastic bag. It included no instructions, but it's pretty self-explanatory.

I was initially surprised at just how small the Smoother turned out to be. With a total length of no more than 4 inches (3 1/2 of that is insertable) and a circumference of just under 3 inches, it was only slightly larger than some of my bullets. In fact, Smoother appeared to be essentially a bullet vibrator covered in a silicone sheath. However, once I got over how small it was, I was impressed by the smooth, velvety feel of its silicone and I was intrigued by its shape. It has a wide, flat head that curved upwards, and I could see it working very well to target either the G-spot (internally) or the clitoris (externally).

Smoother requires a single AAA battery, so I unscrewed the battery cap and popped a battery into it (there's a little cardboard insert in the battery compartment that shows you which way to put the battery in, which I appreciated). There's an O-ring around the battery cap, so this toy appears to be waterproof to some degree (although I'm not sure I'd risk submerging it, it should be fine to use in the shower or wash under the tap). With the battery installed, I decided to check out the toy's functions. Smoother has a single button on the bottom of the toy. Pushing the button quickly once turns the toy on, and then you just click it again to cycle through the toy's functions. To turn the toy off, you can either cycle through all the toy's functions, or you can hold down the button for a few seconds and the toy will shut off. Smoother has three intensities of steady vibrations, plus seven patterns. The vibrations overall are sort of a medium intensity and are not overly strong, and are quite buzzy, so this isn't a toy for those who need that rumbly super-power to get off, but they seemed strong enough to be worth giving a shot for me.

Overall, Smoother seemed like a fun, useful little toy, and I was excited to give it a try!

First Use

Before trying Smoother for the first time, I took it off to the bathroom sink for a quick wash. Since Smoother is covered in silicone (10/10 on Eden's safety scale, non-porous, hypoallergenic, and free from latex and phthalates) and is at least splash-proof, it's very easy to clean and care for. You can wash it with either toy cleaner or a mild soap and warm water. I ran it under my bathroom tap and had no issues with water leaking into the battery compartment. Since this toy has electronic components, you cannot boil it or run it through the dishwasher, but if you want/need to sterilise it, you can wash it with either a 5-10% bleach solution or rubbing alcohol (just be sure to rinse thoroughly). As with all silicone products, you'll want to stick to using water-based lube with Smoother, and avoid silicone and oil-based products, as these have the potential to degrade the silicone. You'll also want to avoid letting any silicone toy come into prolonged contact with other sex toy materials, especially during storage, as sometimes the various materials can have strange chemical reactions to one another (staining, melting, fusing, etc.). Due to Smoother's small size, I find that it stores beautifully in a snack-sized ziplock baggie, which keeps it clean and separate from its sex toy siblings in my toy box.

Once my new Smoother was clean and had a AAA battery installed, it was time to try it out. I went through my usual ritual of putting down a towel on my bed and pulling up a sexy story on my phone. I started out by using Smoother to tease my clit and vulva while I read. I had it on its lowest steady vibration setting, and I was actually surprised at just how good it felt. I honestly didn't have super high expectations for such a small, buzzy toy, but I found that the shape of the silicone head on this toy was absolutely fabulous an external stimulator. I could turn it on its side to get more pinpoint stimulation, or I could use the wide, flat head to stimulate a larger area. I added a little water-based lube, and it glided around my genital area beautifully and felt extremely good, even if it didn't have the more powerful, rumbly vibes that I normally like. I tried inserting it, and it was all right, but honestly, the light, buzzy vibrations didn't do a whole lot for my G-spot. My clit, however, was really enjoying the shape and vibes of Smoother. Eventually I pulled out my Secret Lover (realistic vibrating dildo) and used that vaginally while I continued to work Smoother around my clit, and I ended up having a wonderfully satisfying orgasm using that combination!

My first date with Smoother was a pleasant surprise. Although it didn't turn out to be a great G-spot toy for me, I really, REALLY liked using it externally on my clit, and I decided that I was very happy to have it in my collection.

Further Experience

I've continued to really love Smoother as a clitoral stimulator. I'm finding that while my G-spot definitely needs stronger, deeper vibrations to make it happy, my clit is a little less picky, and can often be satisfied with lighter, less intense vibes. Smoother is definitely not a toy for the power queens/kings among us, but I think it's an awesome toy for anyone who can enjoy less intense toys. Its shape is really fantastic, and it's the perfect size to use on your clit while using a larger toy vaginally.

It would make an excellent choice as a first sex toy, because of its versatility in functioning as both an internal and external toy. Also, its small size means that it wouldn't be at all scary, intimidating, or uncomfortable for a first-time user (it would even be a good choice for someone who has never experienced penetration before, since it's about the same girth as a super-absorbency tampon applicator).

All in all, Smoother turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Since getting it a couple weeks ago, I've found myself reaching for it quite often as a warm-up clit toy, to use while I'm reading my erotica and trying to get myself turned on enough for a penetrative toy. It also works great for me when paired with a more powerful internal vibrator. Obviously it's not going to satisfy size and/or power queens/kings, but I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys smaller, less powerful toys.

Vibration Map

The vibrations are strongest just below the head of the toy, which I think is the tip of the internal vibrating bullet. Decent vibrations travel to the flat top of the head, and some moderate vibration can be felt down by the battery cap.
  • Very mild, low level vibration
  • Moderate vibration
  • Strong and easily felt vibration

Orgasm Intensity

I haven't achieved an orgasm using this toy by itself, but when paired with a more powerful vaginal toy, I've had some awesome orgasms using Smoother.
Follow-up commentary
I still really love Smoother! It's become one of my go-to vibes to pair with dildos (or penetrative vibes without clit stimulators). I find it very easy to maneuver on my clit while using another toy vaginally. That flat head really is awesome, and the silicone feels great against the skin. Also, I've yet to need to replace the battery, so it's not a battery guzzler at all, which is great. Smoother is just a wonderful, simple little toy, and I'm very glad to have it in my collection!
