I Want A Maximum Lover

I think that the Mini Lover is a nice, "middle of the pack" vibrator for those who enjoy a little G-spot stimulation as well as a tiny bit of texture. It's silicone, safe for anal, and seems to be well-built. While it doesn't scream 'luxury,' you're still getting a safe, enjoyable toy for a decent cost.

Use

The Mini Lover is going to make friends with those who want some G-spot action, enjoy a bit of texture, but are more sensitive to vibrations. It's not going to rock anyone's world. It's not going to jackhammer anyone's clit. It's going to be good for anal because of it's flared base and silicone material. It's also quiet, which is a plus for those living with others.

Material / Texture

The Mini Lover is made from silicone. Silicone is non-porous and also repels dirt and bacteria. The Mini Lover is hypoallergenic, latex and phthalates free and made from food-grade material. It also has a significant amount of drag to it. Of course, that's nothing that a little bit of water-based lubricant won't fix. Remember to steer clear of any other types of lubes as they will damage silicone toys.

While the bottom portion of the Mini Lover is firm, towards the head you definitely get more flexibility. Fairly light in weight, you'll notice the Mini Lover's twist-off handle is plastic. The only texture you have is on the shaft of the Mini Lover. It actually looks like 2 slight ridges, maybe best described as finger grips. The head of the Mini Lover looks like a smoothed over penis head - not really any texture there.

The Mini lover had a mini smell at first, but after a little antibacterial handjob (washing) it quickly went away.

Design / Shape / Size

Slightly curved, the Mini Lover is designed to stimulate the G-spot but can also provide generous arousal to the vaginal canal and the clitoris. The motor is located at the bottom of the Mini Lover, but carry quite well all the way to the head of the vibrator. The two AAA that it takes to power the toy are inserted at the bottom of the Mini Lover by twisting off the plastic cap.

The Mimi Lover isn't waterproof, but it is splash-proof. While isn't not going to melt like the wicked witch of the west, you can't submerge it. Despite it not being waterproof, everything looks as if it's fitted together nicely and the silicone meets the plastic well. I did notice a seem that runs the length of the toy. However, it can't be felt during use and can barely be felt unless you press down significantly on the silicone.

Here's how the Mini Lover measure's up in size: It's got a total length of about 6 1/2 inches of total length, a little over 4 of those are insertable; those are the ones from the 'dorcel looking fin' flat base up. The circumference on the head of the Mini Lover is about 4 inches, and the circumference at the base (near the 'fin') is only a bit bigger at 4 1/2 inches. From the fin down is the handle, which includes the battery pack. That's about 2 inches. Take into consideration that the dorcel fin-shapped base isn't completely flat. It has some moderate thickness to it. This is better shown in the pictures.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Mini Lover has one button. You press and hold to turn it on. At any point and time you can press and hold to turn it off. That single button scrolls the Mini Lover through 10 different functions. However, the level of vibrations never go above a level 3 on Eden's Vroom Scale. You can't go backwards. You have to keep scrolling until you get back to the level that you like. The button is easy to use and access during play.

Here's a rundown of what the Mini Lover has to offer.
1. Level one steady vibration
2. Level two steady vibration
3. Level three steady vibration
4. Slow pulse on vibration level of three
5. Pulse on vibration level of three
6. Pulse on vibration level of three followed by pulsing of levels one, two, and three - repeat
7. Escalating from levels one, two, and three - pulse on level three - repeat
8. Level three-dip to level two- back to level three- three pulses of level three - repeat
9. One slow level 3 pulse followed by 5 quick level three pulses - repeat
10. Escalating from levels one, two, and three then two quick level three pulses - repeat

Care and Maintenance

You can clean your Mini Lover with antibacterial soap and warm water. Feel free to use toy wipes, but either way, make sure you clean your toy before and after each use. Storing the Mini Lover should be fairly easy. Of course the box it came in isn't huge, so it wouldn't take up an enormous amount of room, but if that option doesn't interest you, Eden has more storage options for you to choose from. You will want to keep your Mini Lover away from other silicone toys so there won't be any melting or other damaging reactions./ This can sometimes happen when toy materials are stored together.

Packaging

The Mini Lover came packaged in paper box with an image of the toy on the front. I didn't find it discreet, but it was more tasteful than a lot of boxes that toys come in. It also had an information booklet with it. However, it seemed to be more of an advertisement for Marc Dorcel and his products than a provider of information for the Mini Lover.

Experience

Unfortunately, the Mini Lover jut didn't do it for me. The texture felt great, but the vibrations just didn't get me there. I could have masturbated for hours on end and still not have gotten anywhere but 50% there. Vibrations like these only serve to piss me off. Soon enough I set the toy aside and came out of the bedroom in a huff. The Husband knew what I'd been doing while I was in our bedroom and when I came out I snapped at him about something when he asked me a simple question. It was that pent up orgasm!

The Husband grinned and said, "That one must not have worked."

Follow-up commentary
Unfortunately, the Mini Lover just didn't have enough power to bring me to orgasm. The design wasn't bad, but it lacked significant power. I wasn't impressed with it.

How upsetting. It looks like Dorcel toys are a lot like Dorcel movies — they have a big reputation that they don't quite live up to. Bummer.

What a bummer. I got the discreet bullet vibe with remote from this company to review. I'm having trouble bringing myself to review it because I was SO disappointed with out weak it was. What a waste for my free monthly assignment. Sorry your Dorcel sucked as well.

Nice review! This looks pretty fun to me. Too bad the vibrations aren't any stronger though Had they been, I'd have been ready to buy this. It does kind of look big though. Thanks for sharing.

I'd love to know a bit more about the dimensions since I was totally wanting to get this. How thick is it at the tip? How thick is it at the base? How far can you insert this toy? Are the vibrations more buzzy or rumbly?

Thanks for the review! The Dorcel toys do seem to be lacking the power that a lot of people need from the reviews people have gotten up so far!

There's nothing worse than a boring vibrator. Thanks for the review.

Ryu is totally right! I didn't add any measurements! *facepalm*. See? It doesn't matter how many reviews that you write... you can still get review rot in your brain! Going back to fix that now!

I've on a toy hiatus for a while but this review has me considering getting it!
  • Contributor: Ryuson
Ah! Thanks for adding in the information! Looking at the measurements I think that this will be a good size for me, especially since you said the material was softer at the tip. Don't worry about it, we all forget to add things in every now and again!
