I Wish it Was in Another Shape

I couldn't pass up the chance to try the Platinum Charisma Zia for less than seven bucks, but normally would not have noticed toy like this. It's totally worth that sale price, but I'm not sure it's worth the full retail. It has surprisingly rumbly vibrations, especially for a plastic toy, but the design and size could use some work. The solid construction is great, and it is easy to operate, but there are some issues with the vibration. If I squeeze or apply pressure to the shaft, the vibrations get weaker! Sad face. Made of a lovely plastic, it is very safe for the body and won't cause any irritation. It's best for external use, but can be used internally by those who like thick toys. It's not the best for those who need to be discreet either. The noise level is higher than what I needed when I had a roommate. It's not the most discreet toy out there.

Platinum Charisma Zia is made of PU coated plastic which means it is flame-resistant! You shall have no fear that this toy will burst into flames. Phew! I absolutely love the feel of this non-porous plastic. It's incredibly silky and smooth with a matte feel to the surface. Plastic is hypo-allergenic and free of both latex and phthalates. It has no smell or taste. While it is non-porous, it cannot be sterilized, so a condom is recommended for sharing.

This vibrator has an odd design. It reminds me of a fattened up ice cream scoop. Quite girthy, the Platinum Charisma Zia is not best for beginners. Its total length is 6 1/2" long with a max insertion length of 4 3/4". The top bulb is sort of a curved tear drop shape and has a portion cut out of it to create a concave half oval that is perfect for cupping the clitoris. The top bulge is 2 3/4" long. It is 1 7/8" wide at the largest point, and 5 1/2" in circumference. This is right at the base of the curved out portion. Speaking of, that part is 1 3/8" long. If you have a long clitoris and hood no worries. It should accommodate most women.



After that first bulge, the vibrator slims out in the shaft. There are two rips below the top bulge. This area is about 1 1/2" in diameter and 4 1/8" in circumference. After the two ribs, it thins out even more at 1 3/8" in diameter. Then is flared a bit and rounded out at the end. I would not say that this toy is very safe for internal anal play because it is so short and the flare is not drastic. It's fine for external play, however.

The silver band towards the base is where the toy unscrews so the two AA batteries can be inserted easily. And below that at the end of the vibrator it has notches that make it easy to turn and power the toy.

The design isn't the most obvious. Like I said before, it sort of looks like some sort of colorful kitchen utensil. Toy users will likely be able to spot its use, but as for others, it doesn't scream sex toy right out. It's easy to hide and travel with.


It is very easy to hold.

To power the vibrator, you simply turn the dial base. The starting vibration level is surprisingly rumbly! It's very low but because it is rumbly it works really well for me even without turning it up at all! The vibrations can be felt throughout the entire vibrator but are clearly concentrated in the top bulge. As you turn the vibrator's dial the vibrations slowly get stronger, but seem to jump unevenly at times. Jumpy is the best way to describe the noise level too. It's really loud in general, but the noise level changes if it is touched near the top. It certainly can be heard through a door. When it is inserted, however, it cannot.

Speaking of insertion, it's not very comfortable to do so for me. The bulge is too hard and wide for it to be very enjoyable. I prefer to use the first 2" of the toy to sort of curl inside of me. The best use is to cup around my clitoris. It's amazing! The deep nature of the vibrations around my clit allow me to have a really intense orgasm the whole way through without having to pull the toy away like I normally have to do with buzzy plastic toys. This was a real surprise. However, this toy is a bit cumbersome for just being used for clitoral use. I can't complain much, though. I got this toy for $6 and some change. My boyfriend really likes the rumbly vibrations too! You can tease thighs, nipples, external anus, pretty much all over with this vibrator. I'd try more from this line if I got the chance.

Zia is very easy to care for. It can be used with any kind of lubricant, but if you are using it externally, you probably won't need any. To clean a wipe or quick rinse will do just fine. The toy is waterproof so you don't have to worry about submerging it during cleaning. The toy does retain smells of soap, so consider that when choosing what you want to clean it with. When storing you don't have to worry about it touching other materials either. Just store it out of direct sunlight so it keeps it's gorgeous bright color.

The packaging is very simple. It's just a plastic rectangular box. You can see through it so it is not discreet. I like it because it doesn't take up much extra space. The front says it is whisper quiet, which I have to disagree with! The back of the package describes the gyrating vibrations (rumbly), the lovely velvet-cote texture, and the design. It works well for storage.
