Light Me Up, Buttercup!

With such a cute name and an equally cute body, the Sweet Treat is one toy you could certainly underestimate. Don't be fooled! This sweet vibe has some spice too. With a little glowworm tip that lights up as it lights up your world. With the intensity focusing on your pleasure zones, your fingers are rather protected from the numbing vibrations by the handle. This is a great little vibe for anyone just getting into clitoral stimulation, and even for those of us with a bit of mileage.

Glow little Sweet Treat, glimmer! Glimmer!

If you're looking for a vibe that will numb your clit and your nipples but not your fingers, look no further. A worthy investment, this cute little Sweet Treat from Shaki Toys is a seriously awesome little bullet vibe.
Shaki Toys has taken my preferred vibrator design (bullet with multispeed dial on an attached control pack), added a bit of cute, a touch of function, and a pinch of flair.

The Sweet Treat lights up your night to become the glowworm under your sheets as it buzzes till your heart's content. It's pretty cool.

It's compact and light so you can toss it in your bag to travel wherever you may roam. The vibrations are powerful as hell, but they're also noisy, so you may wanna leave it behind if you're roaming into parts where strangers come armed with suspicious ears.

This vibe is strong but if you're not in the clit o' steel club like me, the Sweet Treat has a treat for you too! This vibe is versatile enough for all users, and can either buzz gently like a bee or ramp all the way up to blow you away.

Material / Texture

The hard plastic shell used here is a pretty safe choice. Lubricants of all kinds (oil-based, waterbased or silicone) can play here, and stick around too! The plastic won't absorb the lube, but rather let it slide around wherever you like. It would've been nice to have a bit of texture on the handle, though, as a slipper handle isn't worth much in the way of function!

The plastic is smooth as can be. A touch of drag here would've been nice, as the clit can become numb if stimulated in only one manner for a period of time, and a varying texture would change things up a bit. As it is, one can use the multispeed dial to smoothly transition to higher or lower speeds, giving the bundle of nerves an occasional rest from overdrive.

Design / Shape / Size

Considering the price of the Sweet Treat, the design is pretty flawless. It's not waterproof, which is a downside if you're big on bathtime and playing with more than your rubber ducky. It's pretty basic, but for the price I couldn't quite ask for more.

The abstract body shape of the bullet is unintimidating as well as functional. It's the first bullet vibe I've come across that addresses in design the ever-present tingly-finger issue that comes with extended bullet use. All those vibrations travel through your hand and your lovebead, but the handle ensures that your hand is a bit protected from the action.

The little star on the control dial is pretty awesome and adds a little bit of sweetness.

At 4" long and 1" wide, the Sweet Treat is not for insertion of any kind, but its size comes in handy too. It's very light and just the right size to stimulate you without getting in the way of partner play.

The flared base is simply too small for anal, as it could vanish into the black abyss. Look for an insertable toy with a nice large base, wider than the body of the toy, if you're looking to delve into the depths of your bum.

Functions / Performance / Controls

It's pretty awesome how the Sweet Treat is designed to treat your erogenous zones and leave your fingers pretty well alone. The motor is located in the wider tip for pinpointing with the strongest of its buzzy vibrations. The base tapers to a longer shaft that is perfect for 2 - 4 fingers to steady and guide the vibe. The distance of 3" between motor and handle may not seem like much, but it's sufficient for the task at hand. Holding onto a vigorously moving object was never really much easier.

On the highest setting, the vibrations are pretty intense for this type of toy. With fresh batteries this thing will really blow you away. The handle is super handy as your hand would certainly become numb in no time without it. Grasping the bullet tight in my fist, I can feel the vibrations all the way up my forearm, and they taper deeply before stopping at the elbow. It's pretty strong.

Care and Maintenance

Pop in 2 AA batteries (not included) and you're ready to rock! Use your favorite lube (remember, with plastic any kind will do!) to get it going. Clean up should be done with care, as the toy is not at all waterproof.

I recommend cleaning with soap on a damp cloth, and wiping with a clean damp cloth. To sterilize, use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol on a cotton swab. Never switch between non-fluid bonded partners without sterilizing first.
Be careful not to get any liquids in the battery compartment or at the base of the bullet. Water will short out the vibe faster than you can say 'Dammit!'

An occasional swipe over battery contacts with a pencil eraser will ensure better contact and longer life of the vibe. If you find the vibrations getting weaker and weaker on higher setting, remove the batteries and use them for something less demanding. Fresh batteries will always yield better results in a vibe. And these things do drain batteries pretty quickly.

When you're finished playing, turn one battery the wrong direction in the compartment to break the electrical current. This will keep your batteries lasting longer. Removing them completely will ensure that no battery acid damage will muck up your toy.

You can store the toy as-is in your toy box, or use the clear plastic box it came in. As long as it is clean and dry, the Sweet Treat will be content enough without you until you conjure its powers to your bedside once more.

Packaging

The packaging was incredibly cute and incredibly Chinese (the manufacturer is based in Shenzhen, China). Shaki Toys chose a basic clear plastic box with minimal writing, nearly all in Chinese. There are no instructions or useful information on the box, but you have all you need to know right here in this review!

Personal comments

I collected about 6 of these as free gifts from Eden at one point, and gave them to my girlfriends who deserved a little extra attention. I had been contentedly living life with my other bullet vibes until one day I realized I'd slowly allowed all 4 of them to migrate to my boyfriend's house. So I popped some batteries in this baby, not expected much, but was wowed. The little light on the end is pretty entertaining, and I love how it increases in intensity along with the smooth transitions in vibration. I definitely underestimated this little gem!
    • More awesome than it looks
Follow-up commentary
I had 6 of these at one point, and gave all but 2 away. I currently use one alternately with other vibes of the same style during solo and couple play. The other is backup for when the original dies out. I have yet to have had to change out the batteries, and the light-up feature still tickles me. I like this toy.
