Ribbed vibe - traditional vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Lustus Mihi

The ribbed vibe is just what it says - a vibrator with a ribbed sleeve. When it first arrived, I didn't have time to do any test driving, but I did open it up and sniff. Yes, I sniffed it. I could not recall ever owning a UR3 toy but was pleasantly surprised. The sleeve is gently scented - I think a berry of some kind. It isn't overpowering or even distracting, but it is enough to mask the underlying scent of the material itself. The sleeve has somewhat of a pinkish tone just at the tip of the "head" but is otherwise white all over. When I peeled it down a little way, I did notice a powdery substance between it and the vibrator. The vibe itself is a kind of pretty opalescent plastic. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to remove the sleeve. It stretches, yet holds on to the vibe when in use.

When I had time to actually play, I put the 2 C batteries in, and slowly cranked up the speed. Technically it is considered a dial-base multispeed, but it was more like multivolume! I couldn't believe that it was literally as loud as my Hitachi with the sleeve off, and yes, I tested it. It seemed decently powerful for a stick vibe, and if you leave the sleeve in place, it muffles the noise somewhat. But make no mistake - this is NOT a toy you want to be using in a place where discretion is advised.

The ribbed vibe does have a nice girth - 1 3/4" to be exact, but it's a somewhat squishy 1 3/4". I prefer a more solid sort of experience. I did have a lovely li'l orgasm though, so it worked out well. The ribs on the sleeve did me in. Because it is so squishy, the ribs didn't hurt. In fact, I liked them so well, I tried the sleeve on my favorite dildo and WHOOOOOOO BOY was that wonderful! It took a nice, solid dildo and gave it more girth and a more realistic feel.

***WORD OF CAUTION: If you are feeling frisky and decide to use the sleeve on a different toy, do NOT just toss it aside when you are all blissed-out. Be sure to make the trek to clean it up and remove the sleeve. If you don't, it may cause a nasty, oily reaction and end up ruining your favorite dildo. (Needless to say, lesson learned.)
