The Bon Curl is my first C-shaped vibrator. I'd been interested in C-shaped vibes since I first started browsing sex toys on this site, but had avoided purchasing one mainly because they seem to be marketed as couple's toys to be worn during sex. I don't currently have a partner, however, I was really intrigued by the Bon Curl, so I decided to request it as a review assignment. I'm glad I did, because it's turned out to be a wonderful solo toy for me!

The Bon Curl arrived in Eden's usual nondescript brown cardboard shipping box. The sender is listed as "Web Merchants Inc", so you don't have to worry about nosey neighbours or housemates knowing you're ordering sex toys. Inside the discreet brown box and nestled in brown shipping paper was the box for the Bon Curl itself. The packaging for this product is very nice, although, for some reason, the box says it's called the "Ribbon RCT" instead of "Bon Curl." Still, it's clearly the same product. The box has a pretty indiscreet outer sleeve that displays pictures of the product on the front and back, but this sleeve slips off to reveal a very discreet, classy-looking black box that has no writing on it, so that could easily be used for storage or gifting.

Upon slipping off the outer sleeve and opening up the box, I noticed that my toy was purple rather than the hot pink displayed on the product page. Honestly, I liked the purple better, so I wasn't at all upset by this, I just found it a little odd. The toy, its remote, and a white USB charging cable are all nicely contained in a foam insert. Beneath the foam insert is a card with instructions and other basic product information, which is nice.

When I first removed the Bon Curl from its foam insert, I immediately noticed two things: first, that the silicone felt wonderful and silky-smooth, and second, that it was EXTREMELY flexible. I'd expected it to be bendy and hold its shape however you bent it, but it doesn't hold its shape. It's just really, really flexible, almost to the point of being floppy. I honestly wasn't sure if this would be a good thing or a bad thing, but I loved the feel of the silicone and the overall shape and design of the toy.

I also noticed that unlike many rechargeable toys with remotes, both the Bon Curl AND its remote are rechargeable via the magnetic USB cable that's included, so I thought that was really nice. The Bon Curl has an insertable length of about 4 1/2 inches, and the widest insertable portion (the bulb on the end that rests against your G-spot) has a circumference of about 3 inches, which seems about average for C-shaped vibrators. The larger end that rests against your clitoral area has a little mound on the underside (the part that comes into contact with your body) to provide more targeted stimulation, which was an aspect of the design that I really liked.

As with all toys I've ordered from Eden, this one arrived with a charge, so I decided to check out how it functioned. The Bon Curl has a single button on the toy itself, while the remote has two buttons. The toy can be controlled with or without the remote. The single button on the external end of the toy turns the toy on and off when it's held down for a few seconds, and also cycles through the toy's various modes of vibration when it's pushed more quickly. To use the remote, you must first turn on the toy by holding down the power button on the Bon Curl itself, then hold down the power button on the remote (a blue light will activate on the toy to let you know it's on, and a blue light will flash briefly on the remote to let you know it's been activated). Once both toy and remote are powered on, you can use the button on the remote with the lines on it to cycle through the toy's vibration functions. If you hold down the power button on the remote, the toy will go into "stand-by mode," where it's on, but not vibrating. In order to turn the toy off, you have to hold down the button on the toy itself. You cannot turn the toy on and off with the remote.

The vibrations were not the absolute strongest I've ever felt, but they definitely seemed strong enough to get the job done. I noticed that the internal end seemed to vibrate more intensely than the end that stimulates your clit, which I found slightly disappointing. I would have liked it if both ends vibrated with equal intensity. However, it had a nice range of patterns, along with 3 intensities of steady vibration, which I liked a lot. There were a few aspects of the toy I was a little iffy about, but all in all, I was definitely excited to give it a try.

I charged up my new toy and then took it for a quick wash. As this toy is silicone and waterproof, it's very easy to clean. You can use either a toy cleaner or mild soap and water (I use toy cleaner). If you feel the need to sterilize it, you can wash it with either rubbing alcohol or a 5-10% bleach solution (just be sure to rinse thoroughly). Since this toy contains mechanical parts, you cannot boil it or run it through the dishwasher, as the heat would ruin its mechanics. Since this toy is waterproof, you can freely run it under the tap to wash it, and you can also use it in the shower, bath, or any other wet environment. That said, while the toy itself is most definitely waterproof, I'm less certain about the remote. It looks like water might be able to penetrate either the seam along the side or get in through the buttons, so to be safe, I'd advise trying to keep the remote fairly dry (though it's survived getting small amounts of lube on it, and does just fine when I wipe it down with a wet wipe).

I took the Bon Curl back to my bedroom and started my usual ritual of laying out a towel on my bed and finding a sexy short story on my phone. At first I tried to use the Bon Curl to tease my clit and other external areas while I read, but I found it a little awkward to use that way. The fact that both ends vibrate and the fact that it's so flexible made it hard for me to find a good way to grip it and maneuver it as an effective external stimulator, so I switched to using my Fondler (a small clitoral vibe) for my masturbatory foreplay. I know the insertable end of the Bon Curl is small enough that I could have just put a little lube on it and stuck it right in, but I find penetrative toys feel MUCH better for me if I wait until I'm nice and aroused before insertion. Once I was nice and wet, I threw aside my phone and my Fondler and was able to insert the internal end of the Bon Curl easily and comfortably without any extra lube.

I held down the power button on the external end of the toy and turned on the lowest-intensity vibration, which felt quite nice. I found it was very easy for me to get the toy situated, so the internal vibrating bulb was resting against my G-spot with the external end resting on my clit. I then turned my attention to the remote and found it worked easily and well, and I started using the remote to surf through the various settings. The internal vibrations were quite strong and felt wonderful against my G-spot. I wished that the external vibes were a little stronger, but I really liked the way the little mound on the underside of the external stimulator was able to apply targeted vibrations to my clit. Eventually, I decided that a quickly-pulsating pattern felt the best for me.

I'd initially been a little worried about how flexible the toy was, but I found that while in use, I rather liked it. I found that I could hold the external end on my clit with one hand while I could use my other hand to gently thrust the internal end back and forth across my G-spot, which felt awesome. I also discovered that I could angle the internal end upwards to press it more firmly into my G-spot if I desired. The flexibility allowed me to move the internal bit around in my pussy as I pleased, all while keeping the external end firmly pressed to my clitoral area. After about 10 minutes of thrusting and wiggling the internal end around in my vagina, I found myself enjoying a lovely orgasm. It wasn't as intense as some of my toys that have stronger clitoral vibes, but it was still very satisfying.

All in all, I really enjoyed my first experience with the Bon Curl. I was somewhat surprised to discover that the extreme flexibility of the toy had a lot of advantages, and it didn't make the toy annoying or ineffective during use, as I'd feared it might. I was definitely looking forward to experimenting more with the Bon Curl.

This review took me a little longer to get to than many of the past items I've reviewed, largely because there were several things I wanted to try out with the Bon Curl before publishing this review.

I decided to try pairing the Bon Curl with a dildo in my vagina. Since C-shaped vibes are designed to be able to be worn during vaginal sex and since I don't have a partner to test that out with, it seemed like using it with a dildo would be a reasonable way to test out that function of the toy without having access to a real penis. I've found that the Bon Curl performs beautifully alongside small to medium-sized dildos (I honestly don't have any really large dildos, but it would probably work just fine with larger internal toys as well). Thus far, I've paired it with my EF Mage, which is a firm silicone G-spot dildo, and my Pink Heart glass dildo, and it worked extremely well with both.

I was worried that the super-flexible nature of the Bon Curl might prevent it from staying in place well with something larger thrusting in and out of my pussy, but those concerns were for naught. I could thrust away quite vigorously with the dildo, and the internal end of the Bon Curl stayed in place against my G-spot just fine. The vibrations from the Bon Curl travel nicely through the material of the dildo and make everything inside vibrate nicely, which is fun, and having another toy in there presses the internal bulb more firmly into my G-spot, providing more intense internal stimulation. Even when it comes time to pull the dildo out, the Bon Curl stays in place. The only downside to its super-flexibility is that I have to hold the external clitoral stimulator on the Bon Curl in place, otherwise, it does tend to flop around a little. However, it only takes some light pressure from a single finger to hold the external end in place, so I didn't find it annoying or problematic in the least. I found that my orgasms came much faster and more intensely when I used the Bon Curl with a dildo.

My second experiment was pairing the Bon Curl with something in my bum. First, I paired it with my EF Booty Toy, which is a very small (and adorable) silicone anal plug. That was an extremely enjoyable experience. I found that having the plug in my butt seemed to help target the internal bulb to my G-spot and provide more intense internal pressure all over, which felt incredible. I found myself cumming hard and fast with that combination. Shortly after that, I tried using the Bon Curl with my EF Sugar anal plug, which is a vibrating plug that is slightly girthier and a good deal longer than the Booty Toy. That was, if possible, even more enjoyable than pairing the Bon Curl with the Booty Toy. Having all three of my hot spots being simultaneously stimulated and vibrated was intensely pleasurable!

I've also found that I really enjoy using the Bon Curl in the shower. I'm not normally someone who masturbates a whole lot in the shower, but the fact that the insertable end of the Bon Curl is so small means that I can insert it comfortably without lube, so it's not as big of an issue when the water inevitably washes away some of my lube (either natural or out of a bottle). I've had some awesome orgasms in the shower using this toy, both using it alone and pairing it with an anal plug. (When using an anal plug in the shower, I typically either insert it before I get into the shower, or I use a little coconut oil as lube, since it won't get washed away by the water....but I'm hesitant to use coconut oil as lube for vaginal penetration.) However, I feel like I should note that when I use the Bon Curl in the shower, I don't use the remote. I just don't trust it to be waterproof, and I don't want to end up ruining it, so when I use the Bon Curl in the water, I just use the button on the external end to operate it.

The Bon Curl can be used and enjoyed in a variety of ways, and I've been having loads of fun experimenting with it. It performs just fine on its own, but I've found that I get the most pleasure out of it when pairing it with other toys, either in my pussy or in my bum. Despite my initial concerns about how incredibly flexible it is, I've found that I actually really like that feature of the toy. It allows me to move each end of the toy totally independently, which really allows me to customize which spot each end stimulates. I feel like it would perform very well as a couple's toy during sex. Really my only complaint is that I wish the clitoral stimulator had stronger vibrations. The vibrations on the internal stimulator are quite strong, but the vibes in the clitoral end are not quite as intense as I'd like. They're still strong enough to get the job done for me, but if you're someone who needs really intense clitoral vibrations to get off, then this toy may not be the best option for you.

The strongest vibrations on this toy are definitely in the little bulb that's inserted internally. The external clitoral stimulator vibrates decently but not as strongly, and a moderate amount of vibration can be felt through the floppy silicone part that connects the two ends.

The intensity of my orgasms ranges from a sort of moderate when I use the Bon Curl on its own, to extremely intense when I pair the Bon Curl with a second toy (either in my bum or in my pussy). When used alone, I'd rate my orgasm about a 6/10, and when paired with a dildo in my pussy or a plug in my butt, I'd rate my orgasm at about 8-9/10.
