The Elephant That Didn't Fly

Cute as it is, I just couldn't get excited about this toy, physically or mentally. I think this little elephant vibe forgot that it is an elephant, not a kitten.

The Mini Mini Elephant clitoral stimulator by Doc Johnson is available in blue and fuchsia. Mine is fuchsia, which means that both the elephant (made of TPR) and the controller are that color. The elephant itself had a slight plastic smell out of the plastic clamshell packaging, but that really wasn't a problem for me. I liked the idea that this toy had lots of settings (10 to be exact) and that there seemed to be a fair amount of cord between the remote and the clitoral vibe itself. The buttons on the controller are very simple. You press the on-off button to turn the vibrator on and then press the button labeled "10" to cycle between vibration patterns. I noticed that the red light that tells you that the vibrator's on also mimics the pattern of your chosen vibration setting, which is pretty handy.

Care-wise, given that the toy is made of TPR:

a) Don't try boiling it. Soap and water is fine, as long as you don't get the controller wet. I'd suggest taking out the AAA batteries it takes before cleaning and when you aren't using it, just for extra safety.

b) If you plan on sharing this toy, it is a good idea to use condoms.

I like the design of the controller for this vibe. It is the right size for my hand and has slightly wavy indentations to it so that you can lay four fingers easily in those slots and manipulate the power buttons with a thumb. I will say that the material the elephant vibe is made from is very soft, which felt good in my hands for long periods.

This toy is not exactly discreet, although it might appear that way at first. It comes in very cartoon-like packaging. I would not leave this toy out in the open as the bright colors and the softness of the vibe material might capture the imagination of a curious child.
Experience
I chose a quiet afternoon in my very peaceful bedroom to try this out. I didn't want to do anything too new in terms of my environment so I could really judge *just* the toy. All I can say is that I must be a tried and true power queen or very inexperienced, or perhaps both, when it comes to vibrators. I wanted to like this really cute and travel-sized toy. It just didn't do anything for me, period. I worked with it for a good 15-20 minutes on several settings and shrugged. I even tried switching to my Ako just to see if something was wrong with ME, only to find out that IT seems to be malfunctioning. So, just not a happy day for your local phoenix. Bleh.

I don't think this toy will be making an appearance in my usual hit parade. I suppose it would be a good gift for someone who is very touchy about/new to the entire idea of vibrators and finds anatomically shaped ones intimidating. This might make a fun gag gift or an appearance at a bachelorette party.
Follow-up commentary
This little guy just didn't have the power to do much beyond tickling me. The vibrator was a really cute idea, but needed a lot more oomph to get and keep him off the ground. I don't plan on keeping this one. That's a shame, too, because I'm in the market for a solid vibe now that my Picobong Ako's died. (Never, ever get the casing wet, people!)
