This toy is best suited for women's solo or couples' play. Intended for insertion, the vibes are also mildly strong enough for clitoral stimulation. Unfortunately, because it does not have a flared base, it is not intended for anal play. It is the perfect simple dildo, great for beginners and advanced users. It is not water-proof, but is small enough to stick in a purse to travel with (remove the batteries first so it does not power accidentally).

When it comes to material, you can take comfort in the fact that this is 100% medical-grade silicone, non-porous, and completely hypo-allergenic. The silicone sleeve is covering the base which is made of plastic, but if that end is in your nether regions, you have either inserted the wrong end or have inserted it too far! This toy has no taste or smell, and is rose petal soft with only a slight drag when you run your fingers across it. There are two raised seaweed designs in a slightly smoother texture, and although they are visually appealing, they are not noticeable on insertion. The silicone itself is rigid only at the base 2 inches of the shaft where the motor is located and then is firm but flexible at the top, strong enough for easy insertion but squeezable enough to form to your body. The best thing about silicone? It does not absorb lube the way other materials do and is perfect for beginners to advanced users.

First of all, I have to get this off my chest... why don't you come in purple!? Okay, I'm better. The 5½ inch (4¾" insertable) Voyage is a straight dildo with such a gentle taper of 1" diameter at the rounded tip to 1¼" at the base is almost visibly unnoticeable. The matte texture silicone is completely seam-free with only a shiny raised seaweed design stemming from the base to break up the sleeve. The rounded tip eases insertion and the graduated diameter is noticed as you slide it in all the way to the base. This simple toy would easily be recognized as a dildo, but is small enough to tuck away from prying eyes or in a suitcase and is very quiet, even on full speed. It would not be heard through a closed door or may not even be heard within the same room if there was some white noise.

I was surprised at how well the moderate high-frequency (slightly buzzy) vibrations carried from the base through the silicone to the tip of the toy. Although the vibrations can be felt throughout the toy, they do seem pin-point no matter where you place the Voyage over your clit and can easily be felt inside as well. The turn style controller is located at the base and the vibrations increase from mild to high-moderate. I love that the dial can be turned quickly off in an emergency, but is not easily changed during play. Unfortunately, there are no pulse patterns and I was not able to stimulate my g-spot, no matter how hard I tried.

The Voyage is compatible with water-based lubes (avoid silicone lube unless you are really curious as to what your toy would look like melted). It cleans easily with mild soap and water for use in the same orifice by the same person. However, if being used by multiple partners or anally the manufacturer recommends "clean'n'safe" for disinfecting, although other toy cleans or a 10% bleach solution should work well also. Avoid submerging as this toy is not water-proof. I would avoid other methods of disinfecting, such as boiling, because I do not think the sleeve removes easily or would easily be put back on without risk of tearing. Once dry, put the Voyage back in the included toy pouch (minus the two AAA batteries if you want to extend battery life) and store as desired.

On a side note, although I have included cleaning information should you choose to use this toy anally, it is not recommended as it does not have a flared base. However, we are all adults, and I'm sure someone will anyway.

Definitely an upgrade from "novelty" toys, JoyDivision has packaged this traditional vibrator in a metallic silver box with black letter instructions in several languages over all the sides. Making it look that much cuter are large blue and fuchsia words like "vibes" and "love" scrolling around the box. The front is an open cut-out leaving the Voyage open to view through the clear plastic casing. The box opens at the top and the plastic insert holding your toy slides easily out revealing a silky silver toy pouch with black draw string that is so cute, a sample of JoyDivision lube called AQUAglide, an insert featuring some of their other products, a small instruction sheet, and 5 year material warranty.
