The folks at California Exotic never cease to amaze. Some of the designs that come out are very interesting and different. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. The Basic Essentials Small Pearl Stroker Beads may be one of those instances where it doesn’t quite work.

The overall concept is pretty simple. Take some stretchy thread and assemble fake pearl plastic beads with it in such a way, that they form five connected rings that can be slid over an erect penis. The question becomes, why? Is the device just for looks, do they act like a cock ring, is the intent to increase the girth of the wearer during penetration, or are they meant to move up and down the shaft either on their own or during penetration? Unfortunately, there are no instructions provided to answer this question, so the user is left to their own devices.

The Pearl Stroker Beads end up being pretty easy to put on. As mentioned earlier, the thread connecting the beads is stretchy. In fact, the Pearl Stroker Beads are reminiscent of the cheap beaded bracelets that children sometimes wear. Once you are hard, just pull the beads apart and slide the rings into place. It was not comfortable trying to use the beads to produce an erection. This was actually more painful than originally anticipated. Maybe hard plastic just doesn’t work well for penis sleeves.

After getting the Pearl Stroker Beads into place, sliding them up and down the shaft does not produce satisfying results. Also, using them to increase girth during penetration is not very pleasing either. The beads don’t go far enough into the vagina to make much difference internally, and they just tend to irritate the vaginal opening. They also do not put enough pressure on the cock to enhance the erection, or delay ejaculation so their functionality as a cock ring is not good either.

So, if they don’t work as a cock ring, or for stroking, and they don’t work for girth enhancement, then what does that leave? That’s right, looks. If you are into wrapping your cock in cheap looking pearls, then this might be just the toy for you. At least the price is right for this kind of activity. If you like to inflict unnecessary pain on your cock or on your partner, then these might be an inexpensive way to do that. However, if you are not into pain, or want more function from your cock toys, there is definitely better stuff out there.

So, if you can’t already tell, my experience with the Pearl Stroker Beads was not good. They were not pleasurable no matter how I tried to use them and they did very little for my erection. They were not good for my partner, and were cast aside relatively quickly. As for how they look, they just seem like cheap costume jewelry to me. They don’t seem very masculine, so I guess I don’t see the point too much. They don’t cost very much, though, so I guess if you are looking to enhance your cock wardrobe this might be an inexpensive way to do it.
