Well, cock rings are pretty straight forward. Your partner puts it on his cock and you go from there! (Or put it on yourself if this is from a male's point of view.) Obviously this toy cannot be used internally, but is for outer stimulation. I personally can't see a cock ring being for "beginners" or "advanced" users, but again this is only my personal thought. When I started using sex toys, all I got were cock rings, and they all are pretty straightforward. Practically all of them across the board are easy to use. This is a stretchy jelly which makes it easy to put on, so if you've never used one before this one would be a good one, so I suppose if I had to classify it, it would be beginner.

This cock ring is thick and large. The butterfly is a wonderful size and makes clitoral stimulation a breeze while using. It has a nice texture for added stimulation and a small bullet to insert into the ring to add vibrations throughout the ring. Most of the strength of the vibrations coming from the butterfly.

This cock ring is made out of jelly, which is sticky and can attract lint, and can't thoroughly be sanitized. Jelly toys are supposed to be covered with a condom if shared, but obviously this toy isn't being inserted and is mainly used by couples, so it isn't a huge concern unless you are sharing and in that case it would be difficult to cover this toy. One plus of Jelly is that it is extremely soft and almost has the feeling of jelly candy. It does have a rubbery smell but it is hardly noticeable. Jelly products should only be used with water and silicone lubes.

Jana's butterfly ring does have a lot of texture for a basic ring. It has the vibrating butterfly with nubs for added stimulation and the band to go around the cock has swirls; however, the backside of the ring is completely smooth.

The shape and design of this toy is great. It lines up great and does exactly what it is made to do. It is purple in color, and actually pretty large for a cock ring. The unstretched diameter is 1 1/4" but should not be stretched over 2". And when you think about it, this will fit most guys. However if you are putting this on a toy, a lot of toys go over 2" so be sure to be careful so that you aren't putting this on something that is too big.

It has nubs on the vibrating butterfly for extra clitoral stimulation and swirls around the ring. It is designed with a hole through the butterfly to insert the wireless bullet for vibrations. The bullet that comes with is a typical plastic bullet with a silver coating.

This toy does exactly everything it is suppose to as far as the design and fit.

I have to finally get this out …. The vibrating bullet that came with this SUCKS. It takes watch batteries which is to be expected with it being so small, but it is a con. But that isn't the problem. It takes 3 of these batteries (they ship 6) and with only putting 1 battery in and not even putting the lid on, it started vibrating on its own. I then put the other 2 in, and closed the cap thinking making that would help. Well, it didn't. The toy continued to vibrate, even when I put it on off! I tried twisting the dial to on, to off, to high, to low. Nothing worked. The only way I could get the toy to stop vibrating was to take the batteries out completely. The vibrator was completely faulty. I am not sure if I got bad luck and got a broken one or if they are all just made this cheaply.

The vibrations on the toy, however, are strong. They are very well suited for its intended purpose. The vibrations are on a dial but I wasn't able to feel the variation since my bullet was broken as mentioned. I was only able to feel the one setting and I really couldn't tell you if that was high or low, but it was very strong so I'm assuming it was high.

Care is easy. You can't share this toy since it is jelly. It isn't being inserted, but I would still rather be safe then sorry. The bullet is not waterproof so you will want to be careful when cleaning. I recommend removing the bullet completely when cleaning so that you can thoroughly clean the ring. Since it does have nubs, swirls, and grooves, it does take some added attention to cleaning but it is still an easy toy to clean.

I keep the toy stored in its box along with its batteries in a bag, since I can't keep the batteries in the toy. (Due to it being faulty as mentioned above.) But being a cock ring, it is rather small in size and easy to keep away.
