Overtime for a Good Time

If you're looking for a real prolonging cream, this is it. Don't expect fantastic gains, but it's no snake oil. Be sure to use a non-latex condom with penetrative intercourse, however. Otherwise, it will affect both partners.

Use

The Overtime Delay Cream is designed to be used on male-bodied individuals before sex. It is applied on the head, glans, and other sensitive parts of the penis.

Benzocaine is the active ingredient in Overtime. This is the same ingredient in topical oral analgesics, like if you have a tooth ache or a canker sore. I'm not worried about a little bit of ingestion or its safety for use. However, it is intended for external use only.

Did you know that Benzocaine, like menthol or other "minty" tasting chemicals, bind to the same receptor in your nerve cells that is affected by cold temperatures? This receptor is called CMR-1, cold-menthol receptor 1. It communicates a cold or numb feeling to your nerves, and from your nerves, to your brain! This cream works just like an ice cube would. Yet, it has the benefit of not being wet and will stick to your skin, so the effect lasts longer. Applying this cream to the skin likely causes Benzocaine to bind to the CMR-1 receptor and is dependent on its unbinding before you will return to normal feeling.

Applying both cold and a chemical that affects the receptor will create a synergistic effect. If you wanted to heighten the effect you get from this cream, you could apply a cold pack or ice cubes wrapped in something. This would provide additional and longer numbing effects if you find that Overtime doesn't do enough for you. Be careful, though, you're only given one penis, so treat it with care! While your skin is numb, it might be hard to fully judge your own reaction. Also, it will get harder to maintain an erection with added numbing. Use your best judgement and err on the side of caution.

Returning to normal will occur in about 15 - 30 minutes. This time depends on the individual, activity, activeness of stimulation, and possibly also on lubricants or items that come in contact with the skin to which Overtime was applied.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

When I first tried applying Overtime, I noticed that it is a thick, white, and slightly gritty paste. You must squeeze it out of the tube and not a whole lot can come out at one time. I could feel the grittiness between my fingers and on my palms as I applied it.

Luckily, my partner in science didn't feel a thing. He likened its looks to yogurt or cottage cheese, and said he couldn't feel the grit at all.

When applied, Overtime stays right at the site you applied it until you decide to rub it around. Likely, this paste wouldn't go away and didn't absorbed into the skin, unless you rubbed it in. Rubbing it in is very necessary and also kind of hard. That's probably what you'll be doing while waiting the 5 - 10 minutes the instructions recommend. If you use too much, absorption might not happen at all.

First application:
Zero min OT
Rubbing it in:
Rub in OT
Ten minutes:
Ten minutes OT

As you can see above, after 10 minutes, which is the amount of time the box recommends, there's still a white film. Playing with getting the right amount may take some time.

Taste / Aroma

I was worried about bitter tastes, perfume-y scents, or maybe even unpleasant, medicinal aromas. However, after hesitantly sniffing and licking, I'm happy to say that it has no taste and no smell. In use, when a slightly larger quantity was around, I could detect a very faint odor. Rest assured, the odor was very faint. I happened to get a little more on my tongue and it still had no taste. I could only tell I really gotten some because the top of my tongue went tingly! After experiencing it, I definitely think comparing this cream to an oral analgesic is accurate.

Performance

This stuff definitely works. After using it, we noticed an estimated 20% increase in the time it took to reach orgasm for him. He reported feeling back to normal right after orgasm, so no fears about lasting numbness.

Her experience;
We waited the requisite amount of time before intercourse. We also used a non-latex condom, to prevent any of the cream getting on me. The box recommends for external use only and certainly, prolonging my orgasm wasn't our intention! Since I could still feel some of the cream's numbness on my hands and tongue through intercourse, I'm certain that using a condom or other barrier was necessary. If we had not, I likely would have been affected by its numbness as well.

His experience:
When asked about the quality of sensation, he noted that orgasm did not feel difficult to achieve. It just took longer to achieve. At no point did he feel it was out of reach. He did notice that orgasm was not intense. It wasn't a deal-breaker for Overtime, just that his orgasm didn't feel as intense as usual.

On his skin, the cream's residue began to get quite sticky, which added slightly uncomfortable friction. Luckily, clean up was very easy. It was only slightly longer than normal.

**Beware that if you use a condom, it should be non-latex. Overtime contains mineral oil, which can degrade latex very quickly -On the order of 60 seconds, according to a study by the Mariposa Foundation. Obviously, if you don't keep non-latex condoms on hand, this is a definite con.
    • Gets sticky
    • Needs to be washed off with soap and water
    • Not compatible with all materials
Follow-up commentary
This is still a good product, and my boyfriend and I have used it a number of times after my initial review -- however, it will numb me, too! We don't always have non-latex condoms since neither of us has a latex allergy and I'm not keen on going out of my way to stock a different kind of condom just for this cream. We could use this only for hand jobs, maybe boob or ass cheeks only stimulation, but this was designed to prolong intercourse. So, I simply don't find this product practical anymore.
