3D Sexy Women and a Hollywood Icon.

Beautiful quality art book for the erotic or nude photography buff, or photo historian. Lovely, semi modest nudes for those seeking a more classic art option. The book is well made and a good value for the price.

An amazing art book for a variety of people! It combines art and photographic history, erotica, and Hollywood history all in one weighty tome. I didn't put it together until the book showed up and I read the foreword, but Harold Lloyd was an early silent film star. Most people would probably recognize a famous still of him in his trademark black glasses and straw hat hanging from a large clock face in the film Safety Last! from 1923. Well he had a whole other passion for photography, especially with an innovative 3D camera. This book starts with a short introduction, then the bulk of it is filled with gorgeous color photos of beautiful nudes, a portion of which are in 3D. Glasses are included for viewing these. The photos are a bit tamer than later images, with the pubic area usually gracefully covered. But breasts abound and these are some naturally beautiful women, largely from the 1940's-1960's, so pre-lipo and plastic surgery. A perfect choice for someone who enjoys erotic art of a tamer sort, or just nude photography.

Design

This is a heavy hardcover book, partially because it has a lenticular image superimposed on the book to give the cover a 3D appearance. The cover image has the naughty bits covered over, but some still might prefer to not leave it on the coffee table. It is oversized and printed on a nice quality of paper.
    • Hard cover
    • Large coffee table style

Personal comments

I really enjoyed this book for the natural quality of the women pictured more than for the 3D images. These women are beautiful and curvy, a la Marilyn Monroe, rather than the overly thin or overdone plastic surgery you see so much of today. A few of the sets are a little hokey, especially any that were taken in the 60's look a little dated, but it's still a book I'm happy to have.
Follow-up commentary
A girlfriend and I enjoyed this book during a recent night in. It's a great conversation starter for an intimate group of friends. The 3D pics are lots of fun.
