Amerotica, The Art Of Irvin Bomb (and bombshells abound!)
If erotic art is something you enjoy, this book has it in abundance. The art ranges from classy pin-up to down and dirty fetish... something for everyone!

Pros
The art is magnificent.
Cons
Wish it had been longer, showing more art.
Subtitled Amerotica, this is a collection of art done by an amazing artist, dedicated to love of the female form. I was unfamiliar with Irvin Bomb when I ordered the book, I was simply intrigued with the photo of the cover and the one photo featured in the ad when I was browsing that section. I was certainly not letdown when it arrived and I opened it for the first time!
The book is an excellent example of my belief that erotic art is not porn. His erotic pin-ups have been featured in magazines like Penthouse, and humorously, Cheeks and Big Butt Magazine. (He does seem to have an affinity for women with large derrieres...) The forward to the book is done by Ava Vincent, a Penthouse pet. Bomb has done many artistic works of her. Vincent breaks many stereotypes in this forward, primarily by simply being very articulate.
But you buy the book for the art, and Bomb's art is just amazing. Many of the pieces are so realistic that is is nearly impossible to convince yourself that they are not photographs. The depth and intensity of his work fools the eye completely. There are photos of works that clearly are art, and these are equally wonderful. But to me, the real beauty is in his works that seem to be photographs.
Fetishes abound! There are a lot of different fetishes included in the featured art. Bomb especially seems to have affinity for lesbian vampires, and lesbians in general. He has a couple of demon with nude works that were personal favorites of mine. Some kick-ass shoes are included on a couple of pin-ups, and I have a real 'thing' for shoes, so I enjoyed them very much.
There is little writing in the book, just a few paragraphs devoted to his processes and techniques in taking a photo and making it into a beautiful piece of art. He shows the entire process in one section, starting with the photo, then the progressing pencil drawings that eventually lead to the finished work. Very interesting!
The book is not very long, only 64 pages. It leaves you wanting more for sure! But the beauty and eroticism is like a wonderful meal. You savor every page, and even though you are sated at the end, you still wish there were dessert. My husband and I spent quite a lot of time pouring over it and then had some really hot sex... just what I want out of an erotic book|The Art of Irvin Bomb!
