Becoming Boring

As I've said, this book may have been boring to me, but ask someone else, and they may say it's the best thing since sliced bread. I find myself attracted to books with a lot more humor within the pages, because (yes, I'm going to repeat myself here) sex is fun, and it should be fun to read about sex.

The "help you feel comfortable with yourself" line in the product description is the reason I chose this book. How many women, no matter your age, are uncomfortable with their appearance after having a baby? I'm right there alongside you guys, or rather, still there, even after 6 months.

So anyway, I chose this book, thinking "I don't need to learn how to orgasm, but I do need help to feel comfortable with this new body."

While there are several topics in the book (ranging from exploring your genitals, touching for pleasure, and even real-life relationship issues), the actual reading of the book is quite boring. Or at least, it was for a 22-year-old desperate to get her old sex life back. This book may be a better fit for someone more mature in age. And yes, I do have a few sex books myself, one in particular by Tracy Cox that I love, so no, I'm no stranger to this genre of writing. Honestly, reading this book was like being in school all over again. It's too text-book-ish, in my eyes; sex is fun, and so it should be fun to read about it.

Now, I'm not knocking the book or saying it's garbage; it is a good read, just not for me.

Design

The book is ordered perfectly; you can read from one chapter straight into the next without becoming confused. The quality of the book is great; it's no lightweight paperback, that's for sure. My copy still looks new (which is really no surprise. I'm known for taking especially good care of my books).

Personal comments

Though I feel the book is not for me at this moment in time, it may very well be later in life. I do not regret getting it, and I will store it on my bookshelf with all my other books in hopes that later on, I can fully appreciate it.
Follow-up commentary
I still think this is a well-written book, just not for me. I really hope that sometime in the near future, I can read this without yawning.

    Thank you for the review.

What exactly did the book talk about? Listing the chapters and what they entailed is always nice in a book review. Even if just the highlights of what the book talked about would be helpful.

The Mentor Program is a great program for new reviewers. You will learn to write really helpful reviews, mentored by a seasoned reviewer of high ranking.

Good luck. Keep on writing and playing.
