Nice candle for general household use, odor masking, or mood enhancement. (Or save it for your next power outage!) Quality glass votive also makes it a good choice to give as a gift on a variety of occasions. Perhaps a little too strongly scented for those with allergies, migraines, or other sensitivities.

I think that any of the soy wax candles are going to provide you with a longer burning candle, that burns more cleanly, and largely evaporates while burning. This is an extremely clean burning candle made of quality materials that justify the higher price.

The sample I received was stated to be sunflower scented. I've grown a lot of sunflowers and don't recall any that smelled this strong, or really had much of a scent at all. The scent can be quite cloying and overwhelming, even when the candle is not lit. It may be too strong to create a mood with your man if he isn't into strong scents. Perhaps one of the other selections would be more pleasing. Sunflower is a lot like walking into a really stinky florist.

The candle performs well in terms of burning for a long time. Because it does not have a lead wick, the flame is quite constant without a lot of flickering and sputtering that you get with some candles. The glass votive is very heavy and sturdy. I am clumsy, and knocked it against the edge of my counter hard enough I expected it to break, but it didn't even chip. The reuseability of the votive is also nice and helps make up for the high price.

This candle is in a heavy glass votive with a design on the side that varies in color depending on the selected fragrance as shown on the website. I think the sunflower scent's color is the least pleasing as the strong contrast between the candle color and the orange/brown graphic is not personally attractive to me. It does not arrive in a really spiffy box like some of the other Illume brand products, but the box is nice enough to make a good looking gift. However the glass is of a nice quality that could be used with another votive when you had used up the existing candle.

I'm not big on any product that is too strong smelling. I prefer a mild fragrance or none at all. This was strong enough in my opinion when just setting there, and when lit started to give me a headache. I'm sure there are those out there who would think it's a nice and strong candle, but it wasn't what I was looking for.
