Sweet sensations pajama set - bed jacket discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by Dawn (Lilac Distraction)

Design

These pajamas are fairly simple when you look at them. There really aren't any frills (literal and metaphorical) here. You get a nice "bed jacket" and pair of pajama pants as an adorable little set. The bed jacket has nice long sleeves that are great for snuggling up in. From the picture you'd think that it doesn't have buttons, but it does. The buttons go up high enough that you don't have to show too much boobage if you don't feel the need to, but it's always an option if you'd like it to be. The buttons also continue down the front of the top, as well. When I was feeling a little on the flirty side I skipped the last few buttons as well to let a little more skin show. There's also a pocket on the breast, as well. What the purpose of this pocket is I'm still not quite sure of, and don't know what you'd keep in it, but it's a nice little detail. There's a bit of a collar on it but it's nothing too crazy. It's a soft shape that adds another nice little touch here.

The pants are also fairly simple. Just your plain old pajama pants here. They have a drawstring waistband with just the right amount of elastic to keep them up, but not to make them look all bunched up and silly. The drawstring's size resembles more or a ribbon than it does a string, so tie yourself a pretty little bow with it. Overall, very comfy all together.

The collar, sleeves, and hem of the pants are adorned with a cute hot pink piping that adds to the charm factor. Normally I hate anything pink, but I found it quite adorable.

When you look at the design, it is obviously something that's totally flattering no matter what size or shape you are, which is rare to find in lingerie-like things these days. In fact, it's also suitable for people of all ages, as well. I'm contemplating buying one for my mom, even.

Wearability/Material

When I ordered this I also ordered a black satin cami and short pajama set because I thought it would be fun to skip the bed jacket and have a nice matching cami to go with it. When comparing the two it became obvious that this was much better quality even though both of them are in the same price range. The satin here is incredibly nice for what you pay for it. The other set I got felt more like shiny paper and was too thin to really look that great. The material of these pajamas looked as if it was much better quality. The satin is nice and shiny. Very silky and cool to the touch, too. It flows and moves with you and leaves you feeling quite luxurious because it still has a little bit of thickness in the material (unlike the other set I bought). This is something I would have paid twice as much for because of the quality. The stitching is flawless and I have a good feeling that these will hold up for quite some time.

I was a little hesitant to wear the bed jacket when I slept because I hate being confined by things and easily get too hot so I usually end up in a tank top. Surprisingly, I was even more comfortable in this. It still allowed me to squirm around in bed without feeling constricted. It wasn't half off me at the end of the night and I wasn't tangled up in it (which is a desirable feature in pajamas). The pants were quite cozy, as well. I could walk around the house without having to keep pulling them back up on my skinny little self. I felt cozy, yet dressed enough to spend an entire day in it. I just didn't want to take it off!

Sizing

I'm tiny so most smalls are usually too big on me. However, this fit me and still had room to spare. The only real issue I had was with the pants being a little long on me, but that's the case with most pants. I'm about 5'5, 100 pounds, and have a long torso and the legs of someone about 5'2. The pants weren't incredibly long, but at an understandable length for someone my size. Everything else fit perfectly without being too loose or tight (which rarely ever happens anyway). I'm a dress size 0 and feel like the small would work well for those up to a size 6 without causing any issues.

Care

I've had a few pajama sets like this one that were perfectly fine in the wash. I'd suggest washing them in cold to warm water and drying them on low heat just to avoid any possible risk of damaging them. Also, make sure not to pull the drawstring like I did in a clumsy manner while getting out of the pants. It slipped right through half of the waist band because it's not sewn securely in the back like some are. Luckily, with a little love and a dash of craftiness I was able to get it back through.

I really enjoy these a lot. I was highly surprised by the quality of them considering that the price was incredibly reasonable. They've become my favorite sleepytime clothes, actually. I wish that wearing pajamas was appropriate in public because I'd never get out of these.

Normally I'd add some pictures here (because that's what we love about lingerie reviews) but I look pretty much like the picture in them. Just go ahead and buy yourself some, okay? You'll be glad you did.

These have held up wonderfully through several washes. They're still my most favorite pair of jammies because they're both adorable and comfortable. That drawstring still hasn't made it back into the pants, but I'll probably get around to putting it back in soon. Just make sure you don't step on it when putting on/taking off the pants and you should be fine.
