Lace kimono - peignoir discontinued by Baci - review by LambChop

The Baci lace kimono is lightweight, comfortable, and very sexy! This is a simple short robe, basically, with slightly extended kimono-style sleeves. The flower-patterned lace is soft and slightly stretchy and very comfortable. It is completely sheer lace, but the pattern is such that it's easy to not feel completely exposed. Unfortunately, there is a small (about 2" wide) collar of a different floral lace that is not comfortable at all. It is stiff lace, and very itchy. This can be solved by folding it back; it just blends in with the rest of the white lace. The model photos definitely do not do justice to the pretty sleeves. The kimono design of the sleeves give this peignoir an extra-feminine and very romantic look. They are actually sewn shut halfway, leaving a classic kimono opening in the upper half of the sleeve.


Sizing is One Size Fits Most. Probably not. I wear a smallish medium top, or a 4-6 in a dress, and although this wrapped completely around me, the edges barely met in the middle (just as seen on the model). There are no snaps, buttons, loops, or other closures to hold it together. It seems to be designed to not close completely, as you can see in my photo. The sash, however, does mostly work to hold it together. There are no belt loops of any sort, but the sash has plenty of spandex, and is very stretchy, (like a leotard). This stretch allows a nice tight no-slip fit. After moving around quite a bit, the front of the kimono did begin to fall open a little, which could be annoying. The robe is about 19" inches from armpit to armpit laid flat, and about 29" long from shoulder to hem, which was a great length on me, just covering my butt but still short enough to be cute. The sash is 72" long (yes, that's six feet!), which is quite long, and would be great for an impromptu bondage tie as well. This robe seems well-constructed and should last a while with care.


Speaking of care, hand wash this in cold water and drip-dry. I would probably put this in a lingerie bag on the gentle cycle and then drip-dry.

This robe arrives wrapped in plastic inside a pretty glossy cardboard box with a photo of the model from the front on the front and the back on the back.


This would be perfect for just sitting around looking pretty or luring your lover in for some sexy time.

This is such a beautiful robe. It is very well made, and a nice compliment to many sexy outfits. This is great to throw on as a coverup, but it is definitely HOT (as in, temperature-hot).
