A bit rough for a butterfly

I like some light texture as much as most people, but this toy is more targeted towards people that like a lot more than I do. I found it a bit painful to use, but others may have an easier time. It is low maintenance and waterproof, and isn't very loud. My main bone to pick with this toy is that it takes three batteries but doesn't offer very much in return!

Use

This is a moderately sized toy that is made for the purpose of insertion. It does not have a g-spot curve, but if you have an easy to please g-spot you may be able to stimulate it with this toy anyways. It also can be used clitorally by pressing the tip of the toy to your clitoris or by running the shaft along your labia and clit.

I would not recommend this toy for anal play because it does not have a flared base or a retrieval cord. It also doesn't have a very easy to hold handle, so it would be easy to 'lose' up there and I would hate to see any lovely people from this site end up at the doctors office in an embarrassing predicament.

This would be an okay toy for beginners but they may find themselves overwhelmed with the texture and girth. Advanced users or people looking for a cheap way to try out a new texture may find this an interesting gateway toy, but I can't see it becoming a staple of anyone's arsenal.

It would be an okay toy for couples play, but it is pretty unforgiving and would require a lot of communication. I usually recommend something smooth and flexible for couple use especially if it is a new concept, simply because it is easy to bruise or otherwise hurt genitalia with sex toys, even when being careful.

I would say that this is a pretty dorm safe toy because it is easy to smuggle into the showers, the noise is concealed easily by the faucet, and it can't be heard outside of the door to my room. More on those details later, but it passes Ryu's dormitory seal of approval.

Material / Texture

This pink toy is made of a pretty smooth plastic, which is rated an 8 out of 10 on the Eden safety scale. It is nonporous and safe, and also easy to take care of. This is a nice material for something so textured because if it had drag to it it would make it much harder to use.

Small butterflies adorn this toy pretty evenly from the base almost to the tip. These are pretty intense to feel going in and out, so I would not recommend this to someone who is used to only very smooth toys. It really does change the whole experience, but I don't think that I will personally be buying anything this heavily textured in the future.

The tip is smooth which allows for more normal clitoral stimulation, but if you want you can also use the shaft along your clit. This is more unique to this toy and is something that you may like, but again I found it interesting but not preferable to other, less rough toys.

My real fault with this toy is that it smelled a bit like burning plastic when I removed it from the box. Since then the smell has become lighter but is not completely better. There is no real reason why it should smell like that as I have had no real problem with it overheating, but I also haven't had it on for an extended period of time. Out going theory is that there was a fire in the factory, but that really is a wild guess!

Design / Shape / Size

The design of this one, other than the unique pattern, is pretty basic. It is shaped like a traditional vibrator and has a push button control. The insertable length of this toy is around 5 inches, but it measures in fully at 6 inches. In my experience, this is pretty average for a vibrator. The girth allows for the texture to be felt more fully, but may be a bit wide for those just starting out. It has a circumference of 4 inches, but because of the raised butterflies this is almost too wide for me.

It has no curves or bulges to it, but if you have an easy to find g-spot you can use this for that purpose. My g-spot is about 2 inches inside of me and easy to stimulate, so I had no problems at all. If you can't get it to work for your g-spot it is great to use for thrusting and stimulating the entire vagina and vaginal opening.

I would not recommend this to beginners because of the texture, but if this were smooth the size and shape would be fine for a newbie to the sex world. It is not very discreet, but because of the smooth plastic it is pretty easy to hide. You can easily stash it in a drawer or under your pillow and not have to worry because it doesn't pick up dust.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This toy is a good, basic vibrator as far as functionality goes. It is controlled by a small (but adorable) heart shaped button on the base, which is very easy to press. My only fault with this is that it is very easy to change the setting (of if you're on high, turn it off) accidentally. You have to cycle through all three settings to turn it off, but since there are only three I really don't mind.

The vibrations carry pretty well through the whole toy, which may lead to some hand-numbing. The vibrations are pretty strong, though, which means that the whole toy can be felt vibrating when it is inserted. There are three settings, which are the standard low, medium, and high.
The low is around 1.5 vrooms, the medium is about 2 vrooms, and the high measures in around 3 vrooms. The highest setting is also around 3 bees.

Care and Maintenance

This plastic toy is pretty easy to care for. It does not collect lint and is easy to wash, making this good for anyone who doesn't want to do a lot of upkeep. My only problem is that the butterflies tend to grab on to gunk and can be a bit tough to wash off, but this can be remedied with an old toothbrush or a scrubbie sponge. I wash mine with an antibacterial toy cleaner, but you can also use soap and water. If you get nervous about bacteria or you want to share this toy, you can also wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution.

I store this in a cool, dark place with the rest of my toys. You should always take the batteries out before you store this if you plan on not using it for a while. It is compatible with all types of lubes, so you don't have to worry weather or not your favorite will harm it!

Packaging

This came in a plastic, clear clamshell case. It clearly displays the toy and is not very discreet. While I don't mind minimal packaging, especially on a less expensive toy, I do mind the scantily clad blonde on the front and back of the package!

I was surprised because this toy came with extensive instructions in many different languages. Most of them were basic, like how to put the batteries in or turn it on. There is also a long list of warnings about how it is for adult novelty use only, there is no responsibility of the producers if you get hurt misusing this toy, store it not touching other toys, clean it carefully, and some more common sense advice. There is also an extensive list of what to do if there is an electrical malfunction.

Personally I wouldn't recommend this packaging for gift giving because of the tacky images. It is okay to use for storage, but it does take up a lot more room than the toy itself.

Experience

This toy is okay, but I will not be recommending it to anyone for several reasons. The first is that the texture feels nice at first, but after a few minuted of use it seems to start rubbing the entrance to my vagina almost raw. This is because the butterflies edges aren't rounded. If you enjoy a bit of pain with your sex toys, this might work for you, but for me it was a huge turn off.

Secondly the smell at first was a bit bad, but the more I use it and have it on the more the scent dissipates. Not really a flaw anymore, but first impressions count!

Third, for three AAA batteries you don't get very much power at all. As a poor college student I don't have money for lots of batteries, but if it was very powerful or offered a lot of variety I might consider it worth it. Unfortunately it really doesn't offer either of those, and it really increases the price of keeping this toy going.

Because of these problems I'm giving this toy a 3 star rating.

Awesome review, thanks. I loved the looks of this one (well I still do) but I didn't realize that the texture on this thing would be that intense. Glad I didn't order it.

Thanks for the review. Was looking into maybe getting this one but I think I should try out a softer toy with this amount of texture first.
