A great vibe for the price!

This is a great vibe for the cost, far superior to others in its price range. The shape and texture make it fun to use even without the vibe going. And it's a great color -- Play With Me Purple.

Pros
Nice firm silicone that transmits the vibe well -- and a pretty purple to boot.
Cons
Vibe gets only more or less intense, no pulse or varying features.

Okay, first responses – really great purple, and a very solid, responsive vibe for the price!

I have never much liked the cheap, slender, pretzel rod-like vibes – the buzz always felt too buzzy, and the aesthetics – well, they looked too much like mystery medical instruments. But this little lovely is so much nicer than I expected for its price range. It is pleasant enough even as silicone dildo|Silicone vibrating dildo, firm enough to matter but bendy enough to play. [Editor's note: this toy is TPR silicone, which is still somewhat porous.] Add the variable vibe feature, and it is definitely nightstand top-drawer material.

The silicone also conveys the buzz quite nicely, while keeping the sound level very private. Even the tip carries enough vibration for playing with nipples or clits, while the base is definitely hoppin’. Vaginally speaking, this is a great arrangement, as the strongest vibe is right where all those clenching nerve endings and muscles are doing their best to party, with the entire vibe vibrating away inside. The girth felt much larger than it looks – substantial enough that the first time out I needed some foreplay before being able to insert the vibe fully and easily. A good water-based lube always helped, of course, as it always does.

The variable speed buzz has a good range for an inexpensive toy, and is definitely easy to reach and adjust. Although trying to do that after one has applied lube to the vibe proved more challenging that I thought. Note to self – keep box of tissue within reach. I’m finding that I like vibes with pulsing motions more than just vibrations of various intensities, but am still enjoying my new toy.

I am, as always, a little mystified by the “realism” feature. Perhaps I am not the right audience for this look; having texture is nice, but I’m finding I prefer the more abstract representations. The straight-up (so to speak) design of the vibe makes it unsuitable for anal play. The vibe uses two AA batteries. I hate throwing batteries away, full as they are of various toxins unsuitable for landfills, so bought rechargeables. The vibe seems to run quite strong with these, although if you have a wide variety of toys, you'll need to find one of those wall-units that can charge a dozen batteries at once...
Experience
The vibe is listed as water-proof. I haven't tried that feature yet, as my sweetie has been away and my shower just isn't spacious enough for fun, so I'll report back on my follow-up. Wonder if the lifeguards would notice if it got carried into the ocean?
Follow-up commentary

I've played with some several other toys since first taking this purple critter for a spin. With more peers to which to compare it, these thoughts:

1. It is still a bit too realistic for my taste, and it is very very purple. The latter of which I love, and which seems to be some sort of ironic commentary on the former.

2. I appreciate the material more. I bought a jelly toy after receiving this one, and wow, what a disappointment that toy was. The smell--ugh. It was making my whole tool bag smell, so I tried to air it out in the room--then the whole room smelled. So even though TPR silicone is not as safe and easy to clean as pure silicone, it is DEFINITELY a better purchase than any "jelly" toy. It has the smooth surface of silicone, but not quite as silky as the best silicone toys, and has some give while holding its shape. There’s a reason those jelly toys are so much cheaper, and your body and your sexuality deserve better. This toy is a great middle ground, reasonable price with some of the features of more expensive pure silicone vibes.

3. In girth, every quarter inch matters. This one is 5 ¼", which is just a little too big for me. I like to feel full, but this one makes me feel a little stretched, which is not an experience I seek every day.

4. Although the description says the vibe is centered at the tip, I still feel it stronger at the base. Compared to my Opus from the folks at Evolved, with a very strong vibe right at the tip, this vibe is definitely lacking in concentration of pulsing. Still plenty powerful, though. So the toy isn’t in my tool bag, but it is fun to pull out now and then. If you like the girth, it could definitely be a favorite toy.

So is the vibration distinguishably stronger near the base?

Just a note- TPR silicone is a composite material and still porous- use a condom when sharing!

If the realism bothers you too much, at least it's, well, VERY PURPLE.

"Realism" always weirds me out. In fact, I think it weirds me out even more if it's "realistic" AND purple.

Yes -- the fake raised veins in the color of manic panic hair dye is a little startling. I prefer the Fun Factory approach to adding texture and visual interest -- swirls, ridges, bubbles, even the funky little animal shapes. But this vibe still feels nice - and when it's in use, the realist features are not so much visible...

The vibe is somewhat stronger near the base. The difference is not night and day -- maybe afternoon and dusk, but definitely noticeable.

Great review! I've had my eye on this one for a while now, but wondered how good it really was... At least the lovely purple disguises the "realism" somewhat!
