The Tantric Zen by California Exotics is a wand style massager meant for use by couples or for solo play. This toy is also curved at the tip, meant for g-spot stimulation, and is textured for something a little extra to enhance play. Overall the toy has ten different patterns of vibration, and one can cycle through them until they’ve found the setting their most comfortable with. While the toy is made for g-spot stimulation, it can also be used on the clitoris, or other erogenous zones such as the nipples. This is a very beginner friendly toy, and shouldn’t leave the user with too many questions or concerns, as it is easy to manipulate, and pretty straightforward, but more on that later.

Users who enjoy playtime in the shower will love the toy’s waterproof features and quiet motor. I cannot say for sure that this toy would stand the test of time completely submerged, but I can say that it is splash proof and waterproof to the extent that there shouldn’t be a problem with taking it in the shower. As well as being waterproof, you could easily slip this toy into your purse or overnight bag for some bedtime fun, as it is small and discreet enough for travel. If it does happen to be discovered in your bag, it wouldn’t be hard to figure out what this toy is though, so remember to pack it somewhere safe. Also, when traveling with this toy, remember to remove the batteries from the compartment.

Do not use this toy anally. There is not a flared base, and as a result could become ‘lost’. Save yourself the embarrassing trip to the ER.

This toy is made from soft, velvety silicone on the upper portion that is meant for insertion, while the lower half housing the batteries and controls is made from ABS plastic. Silicone rates the highest number on the Eden Safety scale, coming in at a 10/10. ABS plastic comes in at an 8/10 on the Eden Safety scale and both are safe for use. Both the plastic and the silicone are easy to clean, safe, hypoallergenic, latex and phthalate free. Both materials are also relatively durable, but you should always keep plastic out of direct sunlight in case it becomes weakened and cracks.

Those with sensitivities will cheer out, as this toy has no smell or taste, apart from when the battery compartment is opened. When it is opened, it has the faint smell that most things with mechanical parts have, which is a new smell to them. This light smell cannot be detected unless the toy is placed directly under the nose. The silicone and plastic are smooth and velvety to the touch, and has little to no drag to it, so if using lubricant with this product, apply sparingly, as you probably won’t need much. With that said, only water based lubricants should be applied to this material, as silicone lubricants may create a reaction within the silicone on the toy and cause it to ‘melt’ or deform.

There is a texture on this toy of a swirly pattern on the tip. This cannot be felt in use, and only provides a small amount of stimulation when rubbed along the clitoris or nipples. The texture looks to be there to provide a little added flair without effecting performance.

The overall purpose of this toy is to stimulate the g-spot internally through vibration. Its design is geared toward achieving that purpose, due to the curved, pointed tip on the end, but this toy will not suit everyone. Because of its compact size, more experienced users may find this toy incorrect for their anatomy. Those with shallow g-spots may appreciate this toy a little more than others, provided that they like the vibration patterns this toy has to offer. Because of this toys size, it is suitable enough for traveling, as it can easily fit into your purse to keep hidden from prying eyes.

This toy would be suitable more for the beginner looking for a toy rather than a more experienced user. The vibrations are weak and will not help those of you who have a 'clit of steel' or a hard to reach g-spot. This toy could come in handy for a teasing session, as that's basically all one will get with the vibration patterns. The function of this toy is to stimulate the g-spot through ten different rounds of vibration pattern. There are two buttons located on the base of the toy, which operate it. One button turns the toy on, while the other one is pressed to cycle through the different patterns. When the toy is turned on, the buttons and surrounding area of the toy lights up with a purple hue to match the color of the toy itself. The silicone of this toy is a nice, pretty lavender color.

Each press of the pattern button cycles to a different vibration, and is easily pressed to do so. As with all 10 function toys by California Exotics, this one has the same vibration patterns as so many others before it. They range from a low humming vibration, to a steady one, over to an erratic mix of different pulses. To put the battery inside (takes 1 AA battery) unscrew the cap on the bottom base where the buttons are and place the battery + side down into the toy, and replace the cap. Make sure that the base is secure and that the o-ring is attached to create the waterproof seal if you are taking this toy with you in the shower.

As you can see, the base lights up when the toy is turned on, with a purple glow. This toy is really quiet and cannot be heard through a door or while you're in the shower. It's a very low hum, and may be heard if someone else is in the room, but should not be heard through covers. The vibrations are fairly weak on this toy, but they are good for teasing the erogenous zones. The multiple patterns of vibrations can surely help you find a favorite setting for your comfort level.

This toy is really easy to care for. The silicone is non-porous, making it easy to maintain by a simple wash of soap and water, or using your favorite toy cleaner. Because this toy is waterproof, make sure that the base is on tight and you can rinse it under the faucet with no problem. If body fluids get into the finer details, use a soft bristle brush to clean them, and rinse the toy thoroughly, making sure to get any soap residue or toy cleaner off of the material. Always remember to wash your toy before and after use, as before there may be stray dust or dirt because the material is slightly tacky, and after should be a given.

Do not put this toy in the dishwasher or boil it. It may be silicone but it has mechanical parts and can be ruined by extreme heat. Always remember to use water based lubricants with silicone toys as others could warp or melt your toys if used. When you're finished with this toy, always remember to take the battery out, to prevent corrosion. You can store your toy in its original packaging or a small Ziploc baggy if you want to keep dust and dirt off of your toy.

Since this toy is small, it can easily be hidden in a sock drawer or some other place you'd like to keep it from prying eyes. This toy is fairly low maintenance but remember to keep this toy out of direct sunlight as the plastic could become weak and crack.

This toy came packaged inside of a plastic box, with a plastic insert that the toy sits in. It also came with a set of instructions of how to place the battery and the different vibration patterns it offers. If one did not wish to keep this box, it is recyclable. It would make a nice gift if the user were to wrap it in gift wrap. I personally keep my original packaging as it's good for storage, but it does take up quite a bit of space for such a small toy.





On the back of the packaging there are multiple languages which include: English, German, French, Spanish, and Russian. All of them say the following:
