Barbie Dream Vibrator

This toy is a really mixed bag, it features some great things (rumbly vibrations, variety of controls, clever concept) with some some goddamn awful ones (the jelly material, the irritating battery compartment) but over all the experience is unique, pleasurable, and certainly fun.

Use

This is a dual stimulator/rabbit style vibe. What makes it unique is the egg attachment that can be moved around to suit the user's anatomy or used to please a partner. It's a fairly large toy, with a rather intense texture and so is generally best suited to people who like larger more textured type things. The vibrations are fairly rumbly, and when turned up to the highest setting quite intense. It also features a variety of vibration patterns which is quite nice. I find that variable settings, mobile clitoral attachment and versatility of this vibe make it an especially nice toy for a lesbian couple, as it can be shared and adjusted to either party's needs.

Material / Texture

This toy features a jelly "shaft" with a hard plastic egg and handle. The jelly is scented with some sort of fruity scent, and very soft over a firm core. The head obviously features rotating metal beads under the jelly sheath. Jelly is a porous material and has a higher potential for causing allergic reactions than most other materials, so I recommend using a condom with this one. The texture is ribbed/swirled, and quite intense. If you're not a big fan of texture this is not the right toy for you. There are also the little nubs for the on shaft vibrations which are somewhat noticeable when inserted.

Design / Shape / Size

This vibe is large and pink and shimmery, I swear it looks a little bit like a barbie dream vibrator. It features a pink plastic handle, with an on/off switch on the bottom. On the top of the handle there are three buttons, two buttons together which change the speed, and one round button which changes the vibration pattern. The clitoral egg is about palm sized for me... slightly smaller than a chicken egg, slightly larger than a robin's egg. The shaft features a swirled/ribbed texture and has rotating metal beads at the tip. The shaft also features three vibrating "nubs" that vibrate independently of the main shaft.

This is a fairly unique dual stimulator vibe, in that the clitoral egg is mobile, this feature is honestly awesome, with the huge variation in anatomy between women it's hard to find a rabbit that works for everyone. This one works for a wide variety of women, but it's large shaft and intense texture may be less than ideal for some... but provided you like texture and ahem... size, this is sure to please.

This is a large, rather loud toy, and definitely great for size queens, not so great for the virginal.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Alright so this vibrator as a variety of functions and settings. It features three speed settings, and five vibration patterns.

The vibration patterns are:
1. Vibrations that pause every five seconds or so, and the beads switch direction every five seconds.
2. Quick on and off
3. Roller coaster ramp up and slow down.
4. Quick pulsation
5. Constant vibration, quick direction switching in the head.

I really like the easy on/off switch as an idea, but in terms of actual functionality it's a bit finicky to operate when you're all lubed up (actually I have trouble operating it in general without using my nails). The beads also jam now and again which is frustrating, but not unexpected, and the vibrations in the shaft are luscious. My major complaint is that the egg can be a little hard to hold onto when lubed up.

The vibrations are deep rumbly and lovely. The only other awkward thing is the battery case which does not like to stay closed.
    • Long lasting power
    • Not discreet at all
    • Powerful

Care and Maintenance

As with all jelly toys this is compatible with water based or silicone based lubricant. It should be stored in its baggy away from other jelly toys, and away from extreme temperatures. Use a condom over it, as the material cannot be sterilized and tends to hold bacteria.
    • High maintenance

Packaging

It comes in a plastic case with a cardboard insert detailing some of its functions. It also comes with a small silky fabric pouch presumably for storage, I personally prefer to keep it in a plastic baggy as the jelly material tends to collect lint.
Follow-up commentary
So despite a particularly nasty break up, this toy has stuck by me, standing the test of time (and various lovers, as well as living through a move). Definitely something to turn to in dark times.
