Basic, but good.

If your looking for a no frills vibrator and lover lots of ridges, this is the vibrator for you. Otherwise beginners or smaller women may find the ridges to be too steep, and advanced users may long for more features than this vibrator has.

Use

This is a good, solid vibrator for beginners, or for those looking for a no frills cheap vibrator. This toy should be for vaginal use only and would not be good for anal because it lacks a flared base to keep it from slipping in too far.

Material / Texture

The Blue Duchess is made of silky smooth rubber which becomes very slick when lubed up. The rubber also feels very realistic if you roll it between your hands for a minute or two to warm it up. As with all rubber toys it is probably a good idea to use a condom over it especially if you are going to share it since it is porous and hard to adequately clean. The screw on battery cover is made of a clear plastic with ridges on it to help you grip it when your fingers are all slippery.

Design / Shape / Size

The Blue Duchess is insertable up to about 5 inches and due to the large ridges the diameter can vary quite a bit, but it is just under 2 inches at its widest. The tapered smooth tip of the vibrator makes it very easy to insert however the ridges can be a bit too large for some uses. If you are someone who like to go in and out a lot, especially with speed the this may not be the toy for you. The ridges are not tapered enough to make it smooth going in and out, they are more like steep speed bumps. The ridges work very good for slow use, or for the the feeling of almost pulling them out but overall she found them a bit too rough.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Blue Duchess performed exactly as it said it would, it vibrates well and has varying speed which can be controlled by rotating the knob on the base. It does seem to have a good range, the low is pretty low and the high was more than enough for us. There are really no adjustments or patterns or special features, it is just your run of the mill vibrator.

Care and Maintenance

We typically use a condom over this vibrator because of the material. We do still clean it after each use using soap and water. and we store it in a Ziploc bag because the material will pick up all sorts of hair and lint if you don't store it in something.
Follow-up commentary
Well this toy was okay until we were using it one day and the screw cap, the one that you use to turn the blue duchess on and off and vary the speed, cracked. Now it will not stay on the vibrator, meaning the vibrator has now become just a dildo after only a couple of months of light use. We would suggest looking for a higher quality vibrator.
