Violet - rabbit vibrator by Vibratex - review by PassionQT

I've used several toys from Vibratex in the past, none of which really impressed me all that much, until I received Violet. I thought it would be just another poorly designed rabbit with cheap looking controls, but to my surprise, it looks as if Vibratex has made some significant improvements. I don't think they are quite at the top-notch level that will please the most discriminate, power-hungry, advanced user, but Violet's design is a step in the right direction.

MATERIAL
The handle portion is made of white plastic with a white silicone cover over the control pad. The shaft portion is covered in a surprisingly buttery-soft, violet-colored, smooth silicone sleeve. What few seams are present are barely visible and can't be felt. Older models of toys from Vibratex that I've owned had sleeves that felt as if they would slip right off or were of a squishy soft elastomer that wasn't as safe to use as silicone. No worries about either concern with Violet! There's no smell or taste present.

SIZE & DESIGN
The size isn't ideal for thrusting, since there's only about 3.5 worth of length (total length of toy is 8.5 inches) that can be inserted. It's good enough to target the g-spot though with its large egg-shaped tip (1.25 inch diameter) that tapers a little before meeting the clitoral stimulator. The latter is animal shaped, or rather bug-shaped. It reminds me of a cicada or beetle more than a butterfly, with its detailed frosty tentacles, pointy wings, and multiple soft ridges on its belly. It's a design that I've never seen before, but I like it! The reach of the clitoral stimulator is nearly 2.5 inches, which is long by comparison to some others that I've used. In fact, it actually overshot my clitoris!

FUNCTIONS & PERFORMANCE
Violet takes 4-AAA batteries which are inserted into a removable storage try in the bottom of the unit. It's not a waterproof toy, although it's water-resistant (rubber gasket present) and the battery cap secures tightly. It's probably safe to use in the shower where it will only be splashed a little and not submerged. Same goes for washing it off under running water during cleaning.

Back to the power, in my opinion, there's not nearly enough juice to let this toy show all is potential, which could be blamed on the fact that the silicone absorbs a good amount of the vibrations. What you have left is just a toy of average intensity that produces very buzzy vibrations. On the plus side, it is much quieter than some because the silicone absorbs some of the vibrations, maybe too much.

The control panel is pressure activated, so there's little chance of accidentally tripping anything. There are two sides (one to operate each motor separately or simultaneously) with 3 vertically placed buttons on each. Because the control pad is made of white silicone, the impressions which are supposed to tell you which buttons does what are difficult to discern, but there's only two to choose from, so it's not that difficult to figure out.

The side with the top button that says F1 operates the clitoral stimulator and the F2 button-side operates the twisting motion of the shaft, which is reversible by pressing F2. The middle button on each side is the ON/UP switch, which must first be pressed to power on either/or both sides. Continuing to press the UP button increasing the speed of the vibrations or twisting action (low, medium, high, highest). Pressing F1 or F2 while the toy is running changes the pattern (f1) or direction (f2). There are 5 patterns: constant vibration, quick bursts, longer bursts, escalaiting, and roller coaster. You cannot reverse and go back to a previous favorite without cycling through everthing again. Finally, to turn power off the toy, there's an "off" button on both sides (furthest from body when using the toy). There's also a little light indicator on either side that flashes and/or stays lit when the toy is operating.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
Only a water-based lubricant should be used with this toy. Its silky softness makes it less likely than other tackier material to pick up lint and hair, although it may do so a little. It should only be cleaned under warm running water with antibacterial soap or with an antibacterial toy wipe. The plastic box it comes in could be used for storage, but it's just one of these lightweight ones that can fold flat.

The silkiness of the material had me right away, but I knew it wouldn't be long enough for thrusting. Once I had it inside of me, the bulbous head popped under my pubic bone and pretty much stayed put by my g-spot. If I pushed it in as far as I could, the clitoral stimulator overshot my clitoris, so I had to pull the toy out some so it could hit its target. Then I just concentrated the vibrations on my clitoris, not paying much mind to the shaft, and came that way. Frankly, I was surprised I climaxed at all since its much less powerful than my favorite toy, so I'll probably only use this one when I'm not in a hurry. Right, who am I kidding?!

Violet was pretty at first, and then it made me "blue" after I would keep trying it and the fit just wasn't quite right. I made it work the first time, probably because I was so excited to try something new, but subsequent uses have failed to make it my go-to toy. It's still a decent product, just not a good fit for me.
