Butterfly strap-on vibrator discontinued

Epic fail.

Except for the fact that it is exceptionally waterproof, I have had a difficult time finding pros for this product. It is oddly shaped, poor quality, and has one very weak vibration setting. I can't think of hardly anyone that I would recommend this troublesome product to.

Use

I was rather excited about the prospect of reviewing this toy, as it would be my first experience with a strap-on vibrator. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up...

Upon opening this product I discovered that one of the adjustable waist straps was already broken. It was late in the evening and I didn't want to wait to start my reviewing process so instead of contacting the company or making a trip to the store for a new snap to repair it, I stapled it back together and got to work.

The best consumer that I can think of for this product would definitely be beginners or someone who prefers very low vibrations. The beak of the butterfly is meant to stimulate the clitoris, although it was largely unsuccessful.

Material / Texture

The waist and thigh straps on this product are stretchy purple elastic, and the sleeve itself is made of glittery purple TPR. TPR is smooth and flexible. It is Phthalates free and less porous than some materials. Use with a condom is not required but it is recommended if you plan to share the toy with others (although I'm not 100% certain on how you would maneuver that with this product). There was no offensive odor or taste.

Design / Shape / Size

I must say that I absolutely love the fact that this product is glittery and purple. However, the size and shape were completely inconvenient for me. The butterfly design is cute and would not be intimidating for beginners. The butterfly includes a beak meant to provide clitoral stimulation with ease, that ultimately just makes the sleeve look like a weird butterfly / hummingbird combo. I also almost felt like I was molesting this poor creature as I crammed the "powerful multi-speed" bullet up it's butt before use.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The packaging of this product has the word "powerful" splashed all over it. It also boasts a "Multi-speed Removable Bullet", and "pinpoint stimulation". If ever I look for truth in advertising it is with my adult products, and I certainly did not find it with the Wireless Venus Butterfly.

The bullet included in this kit has a ridiculously weak vibration and one measly setting. It took me several minutes to remove the bullet from it's butterfly sleeve and I'm surprised that nothing was ripped in the process. It is controlled by one push button located at the base of the bullet. One good aspect of this product is that it is very much waterproof and capable of being submersed for several minutes at a time.

Care and Maintenance

The sleeve on this product has a tendency to collect dust and debris from its surroundings and will require regular cleanings. It is made out of TPR which is compatible with both silicone and water lubricants. This is what the EF Guide to Materials says about TPR.

"TPR is less porous than cyberskin, but more porous than silicone, so we recommend using condoms when sharing. TPR toys cannot be disinfected with boiling water. You can wash them with warm water and toy cleaner or mild soap."

Personal comments

Typically, I would recommend replacing the inferior bullet included in this kit with a more powerful multi-speed one; but it was so difficult to remove, and such an odd shape, that this does not seem like a logical solution in this case.

Experience

I found that in order to receive ANY stimulation from this product whatsoever, I had to keep one hand pressed down on it to keep it in place. Perhaps it is just that my body shape is not compatible with the design of this toy, and it would work perfectly fine for someone else. However, it seems to defeat the purpose of the waist and thigh straps and wireless controls if you end up having to use your hands constantly anyway. (o_O)

I'm bummed to hear this didn't work, I've always been curious about these. Do you think if you wore it and lied on your tummy you'd be able to increase the contact enough to make a difference? Maybe the pressure from the bed would help?
