Fair(l)y Rote

It's going to be hard for most eggs to garner my praise these days. Now that I've fallen so hard for the Bliss, I'm looking at everything else with a very critical eye. This egg is fairly rote - positive points for the ergonomic handle, but those are canceled out by the wide seam on the egg itself.

Small, good for beginners, ergonomic controls.

Small, big seam, just ordinary.

Use

This small egg (just one inch around and slightly over two inches long) would, in theory, be great for beginners who want to try out a remote, vibrating egg, either clit-wise or internally. It's small enough that it won't be scary to newbies, and the batteries (two AAAs) seem to last a long time. The control is incredibly ergonomic (that was my favorite part of this toy) and very easy to use. Sadly (or, truly, gladly, I've been spoiled by my recent favorite acquisition -- the pretty, hot-to-trot Bliss and this one just couldn't measure up... at all.

Material / Texture

The material is very smooth and slippery, like a plastic Easter egg. This makes for a great control but not such a great egg. For me, the egg was just too small and too slippery to get a good grip on. It has no smell at all, which is nice.

Now, to my main issue with the materials: There was a pronounced seam along the middle of the egg. It's an inny seam (like a belly button -- some seams go out and some go in :P) so it wasn't something that I felt. But it did make me worry about getting it fully clean AND about whether or not water or lube would get inside and ruin its internal motor parts.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

As mentioned, this egg is pretty small (just two inches by one inch) so if you're a size guru, this probably won't work for you. I much prefer a toy that's a slightly larger size, both for clit vibrations and internal movement.

The compact size does mean it's super easy to pack and travel with. And it's kind of a cute pink, with the controller reminding me a bit of Hello Kitty. The controller's more than twice the size of the egg, which kind of made me giggle -- seems like it should be the other way around.

The control -- my fave part of this toy -- is designed for easy, comfortable holding. The finger curves were perfect for my hand, and it was the right combination of slip and grip type materials. If I could have such an ergonomic control for the Bliss, I would be the happiest egg-owner ever!

Oddly, the egg came with a clear jelly thing, but no instructions at all on how to use said jelly thing. It kind of fits around the egg itself, but it doesn't cover the whole thing (and I wasn't about to stick it inside me like that), and it doesn't add anything in the way of vibrations. It's not (I don't think?) large enough to be a cock ring. It fits on my finger really really well, but then I wasn't sure what to do with it. So, it's an added bonus that may or may not be a bonus, depending on your creative abilities.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The egg has a number of vibrations, but again for me, the small size kept them from really doing anything wonderful. They are easy to cycle through, however, so that you can find the one that works best for you.
    • Easy to use
    • Long lasting power

Care and Maintenance

I didn't see anything on the packaging regarding whether the egg was waterproof or not (actually, the packaging is so simple there wasn't much of anything on there, other than the giggle-worth "For Women's" bit). And with the wide seam (which grew wider over time, fyi), I was nervous about washing it, afraid I'd either fry it or I'd give myself a shock. But in the end, I washed it with antibacterial soap and neither happened.

Can be used with most lubes -- including water-, oil- and silicone-based items. Although, again, with its small size, it turned out not to be necessary.

Packaging

Simple, clear thin plastic box with almost nothing in the way of instructions or information.
Follow-up commentary
It's still... blah. Nothing awful, nothing special. Pales in comparison to other eggs on the market, but isn't as bad as others. I still like the remote the best. The egg itself is so tiny that it's almost not there.

I'm surprised it's so weak since all the other Fairy toys are so powerful.
