Forked fun!

Voila is a fantastic little toy that beautifully combines portability and versatility. It feels great on all parts of the body, and the flexible prongs work equally well on the nipples and the clit. The silicone is extremely soft and velvety, and the ergonomic shape feels great in hand. This is just a great little toy!

First impression

I was initially drawn to Voila because of its unique design: it looks a bit like a giant, forked snake's tongue. It looked like the flexible prongs on the end could work well on the nipples as well as the clit, which appealed to me, and it checked all the other boxes that I look for: body-safe material, waterproof, and rechargeable.

The Voila arrived early with several other assignments in Eden's usual nondescript brown box. The sender is listed as "Web Merchants Inc," so those with privacy concerns can rest easy. Inside this innocent-looking box, the Voila was packaged inside a simple, plain white cardboard box. It has no writing on it and would be perfectly discreet for gifting or storage. Inside this box, the Voila was wrapped in a simple bubble-wrap baggie. A USB charging cable is also included. It came with no instructions. I was immediately impressed with the softness of the silicone on the Voila. It felt incredibly soft, smooth, and velvety, and felt amazing against my skin. The little prongs on the end are quite flexible, although they were somewhat thicker and more rigid than I'd expected (I'd imagined them being very thin silicone membranes, and they're a little more sturdy than that, though still flex easily). The diamond-pattern grip on the handle gave the toy a subtle, modern, chic kind of vibe, in addition to feeling great in hand and giving some extra grip.

Next, I turned my attention to the toy's functions....or at least I tried to, but I couldn't seem to find any buttons. First, I tried pressing on the bottom of the toy, but that clearly wasn't a button. I found a little bulls-eye mark near the top of the diamond pattern and tried pushing on that, but nothing happened (I eventually figured out that was the charging port). Finally, I found a very small, faint circle mark in the middle of the diamond-pattern grip, and when I pushed on that, the toy finally activated (it activates with a simple push, no need to hold it down). The same button cycles through the toy's various vibration functions when you continue to press it, and holding it down for a few seconds shuts the toy off. Voila has three intensities of steady vibrations, plus several patterns of pulsation, escalation, etc. The vibrations have some decent (though not super strong) power, and the little forked prongs don't really "flicker," as the product page says, but they do quiver and transfer vibrations very well. The vibrations are more buzzy than rumbly. There's also a little white light at the bottom of the toy that flashes in time with the vibrations, which is kind of fun.

All in all, I thought Voila looked like a lot of fun, and I couldn't wait to try it out!

First Use

Before trying out my new friend, I first plugged it in and let it fully charge (as I mentioned above, the little bullseye mark near the top of the diamond pattern is the charging port), then took it off to the bathroom sink for a quick wash. As Voila is silicone and waterproof, it's very easy to clean and care for. You can wash it with either toy cleaner or mild soap and rinse with warm (but not hot) water. Since this toy contains electronic parts, you cannot boil it or run it through the dishwasher, but if you need to sterilise it, you can do so with either a 5-19% bleach solution or rubbing alcohol (just be sure to rinse thoroughly). Since it's waterproof, you can use in the shower, bath, pool, etc. worry-free.

Once my new toy was clean and charged, it was time to test it out! I went through my usual ritual of putting down a towel on my bed and pulling up a sexy story on my phone. I'd gotten several other assignments at the same time as Voila, so for our first date, I decided to use it mainly on my nipples. I used my new Pave Grace clitoral vibrator on my clit while I read my erotica, and eventually threw aside my phone and grabbed Voila to see what it could do for my nipples. Once again, I had a bit of trouble locating the power/function button, but eventually, I found it and turned the toy onto its first setting (low-intensity steady vibration) and held it to my breast so that the little prongs hugged my nipple. I have somewhat small nipples, so I was pleased to find that the gap between the prongs was just the right size so that the prongs themselves were positioned perfectly on either side of my nipple. The buzzy vibrations were just what my nipples like, and a few seconds of holding the Voila over my left nipple had it erect and sensitive within moments. Next, I moved it over to my right nipple (which seems to be more sensitive for some reason), which felt even better. I experimented a little with tracing the prongs of Voila over my breasts, belly, and inner thighs, all of which felt wonderful. Before long, I was extremely wet and aroused and ended up switching out to using a rabbit to get my orgasm.

I didn't try Voila on my clit that first time, because I just wanted to see how it would work on other parts of my body first. It makes a fantastic stimulator for all parts of the body, and I think it could be enjoyed by both male and female-bodied people. I was very impressed by my first date with Voila, and was excited to experiment with it more!

Further Experience

The second time I used Voila, I did try it on my clit, and it's FANTASTIC as a clitoral stimulator. The prongs hug my clit beautifully, and the way it delivers vibrations from two sides makes it surprisingly intense, especially considering that it's not the most powerful toy in my collection (although it's far from the weakest). It performs wonderfully alongside a vaginal toy as well. Because of the flexible, low-profile prongs, it's very easy to slip over my clit while using a penetrative toy vaginally, and I think it would also be a great toy to use during sex. It doesn't get in the way at all, and it's very easy to hold onto and maneuver. Thus far, I've used it with my Dual Density Stud and my Bonbon (both unpowered silicone dildos), as well as my Secret Lover (realistic vibrator) and my Sensualist (realistic rotating vibrator), and I've had amazing orgasms with all those combinations.

I've even gotten better at finding the power button! I've found that it's actually a lot easier to find by feel than by sight. The little circle mark is raised, and feels significantly different from the charging port, so it's quite easy to find with my fingers, even though I still have trouble finding it with my eyes when I'm just looking at the toy. Still, it would have been nice if they'd made it a little more obvious, though that's my only complaint about the toy.

I'd recommend Voila to just about anyone who's interested in a small, versatile, moderately powerful, non-penetrative toy. It could easily be carried in a purse or pocket for fun on the go, and it's relatively quiet, so it would be a good choice for those concerned about discretion. It feels great on all kinds of body parts, so you don't need a clitoris to enjoy Voila. It's just a great little toy that can be enjoyed by people of all anatomies and experience levels.

Vibration Map

The vibrations feel strongest in the little prongs and decrease in intensity as you move down towards the bottom of the toy. Some vibrations can be felt in the grip, but not to the point of making the toy uncomfortable to hold.
  • Very mild, low level vibration
  • Moderate vibration
  • Strong and easily felt vibration

Orgasm Intensity

I usually have trouble reaching orgasm from clitoral stimulation alone, so I haven't had an orgasm using this toy by itself. However, when I pair it with some sort of vaginal toy, my orgasms have been amazing!
Follow-up commentary
I still really love this toy! I love how versatile it is. I find myself using it on my nipples more than anything else, which always feels amazing. It's different from anything else in my collection, and those soft, flexible prongs feel great on all parts of my body.

Crap, I just realised that I made kind of a bad typo, and it's too late to edit. I said that this toy can be washed with a 5-19% bleach solution, when I meant to say that it can be washed with a 5-*10*% bleach solution. Damn you, tiny keyboard! Most of you reading this are probably smart enough to figure out what I meant (who would seriously measure out a solution that's 19% bleach?), but I figured I should clarify just to be safe.
