The Mini Water Gems Nubby by California Exotic is a rabbit-type toy that is designed to stimulate both the vaginal and the clitoris. It is operated by 4 AAA batteries that are not included. The battery compartment consists of two parts: a twist cap, and a spring released cover. This dual closure over the batteries is what keeps the batteries from being affected by water. I also like that the battery compartment has stickers in it to tell the user exactly how to insert the batteries.

It has two types of functions, rotating and vibrating. There are easily located buttons to control both sets of functions on the bottom part of the toy. There is an on/off button for the rotation function, and an on/off button for the vibration function. There is also a button to reverse the direction of the rotation, and a button to change the intensity of the vibration from low to high. It is possible to have the two functions on at the same time, and you can adjust the intensity/rotation without interruption of usage. I did notice a difference between the high and low settings of the vibration, but I did not notice anything significant about the rotation, in either direction. It is very easy to operate this particular toy, and the way that the base of it is designed makes it comfortable to hold in hand whether you are using it on someone else, or yourself.

The nubs that are located all over the toy are intended to add to stimulation, however I did not find this to be the case. I did notice a difference between the high and low settings of the vibration, but I did not notice anything significant about the rotation, in either direction. I found that the best way to use this toy, for me to get any sort of sensation out of its use, was to use the rotating function and the vibrating function simultaneously. I tried out every combination that I could think of with the high and low settings and the clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, but once again I did not get much satisfaction from this toy in any combination I tried. I did find it completely useless to use one function of the toy but not the other.

Also of important note is the noise level of this toy. If you live with a parental unit, or roomies that would rather not know what you do in your personal time, then I'd recommend finding a different toy. This one will definitely let the folks you are living with know exactly what you are up to, even through a closed door, or underwater, or in the shower for that matter. I was impressed that it was a waterproof toy. The AquaGel material does cause problems of its own. “Jelly material can't be sterilized like silicone-so no boiling water. Since jelly toys can't be sanitized they can't be shared-unless you put a condom over them. Clean jelly toys with the warm water and toy cleaner. Don't use strong soaps on them and keep in a cool dark place.” Additionally, one of the negative aspects of this type of material that really gets on my nerves is that it picks up everything- dog hair, lint, dirt; you name it you'll probably find it stuck to your toy at some point. To combat this problem, I highly recommend keeping it in it's box, and cleaning it before and after each use. Speaking of packaging, this toy comes in a plastic box that fits it well, and doesn't have much extra space that is wasted. The box is clear so you can see the toy, so if you're planning on giving it to someone, it may be better to avoid giving it to that person while their mother or grandmother is around, talk about an awkward moment!

There is one particular point that concerns me about this particular toy. The vibrating clitoral stimulator is not in line with the rest of the toy. It is slightly off center. I do not know if it's really supposed to be that way, but I found that I wasn't able to line my body up with the toy perfectly without adjusting the toy to be lined up to hit where it needed and should hit. Additionally, each time I take the toy out of its package, this part of the toy gets hung up on the box and thus becomes pulled in a direction that it is not meant to go. I worry that this will cause it to break at some point in time, which might be reason enough to find a different type of plastic box to store your toy in.

I tested its waterproof-ness by dropping it in a tub of water while not on, pulling it out after a minute and turning it on to test to see if it still worked. I also turned it on prior to submersion and tested to see if it continued to run once submerged for a minute. And lastly I put it underwater and then turned it on to see if it still worked. After all those underwater adventures it still worked, and the batteries came out of the toy nice and dry.

I tested out this toy while relaxing in a hot bath, sans bubbles. I picked a day in my cycle that put me in peek horny-ness. I spent about half an hour total with the Mini Water Gems Nubby. In that length of time I can usually get a lot done, but with this toy I got nearly nothing. I did have one small orgasm when I used the rotating function and vibrating function simultaneously, but nothing to impress me, and certainly nothing prolonged. Overall, I enjoyed the warm bath water more than playing with my Mini Water Gems Nubby.
