Traditional vibrator discontinued
by Xtassie

I was hoping for a little more X-tassie from this Objet

It's a nice medium strength vibrator with many different settings. The controls can be very frustrating, but it is a very nice looking toy made with body-safe materials. I think it is just an okay toy; it has some great things about it but ultimately the controls got in the way of being able to enjoy it.

Use

X-Tassie Objet is a traditional style vibrator that has a lot of flair and style to it. Just like most vibrators, it can be used in a variety of ways. It's fun for both solo play and as a couple, though I had to remind my boyfriend that with its 9 inches of length it would be too painful to insert it all the way. I liked it best clitorally with the pinpoint precision of this vibe coupled with the vibrations being concentrated at the tip. It was also great during vaginal and anal use. Just be careful to use caution when playing and don't switch orifices without sterilizing the toy first. The patterns of the Objet are fun and versatile, and it's a nice, happy medium strength-wise.

Material / Texture

The material is medical grade silicone for the insertable portion and ABS plastic for the handle. The silicone has some drag to it and does have a tendency to attract particles. I also believe there is plastic underneath the silicone because this toy does not bend hardly at all. It is a rigid toy except for a little give in the tip.

There is some mild texture to it which I thought was very pretty but didn't really add any sensation when being used. I don't think it's enough texture to where it would be uncomfortable for anyone.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

I really liked the look of the toy. The swirls were very nice looking, and it is a very pretty pink and white color. I know that does not matter to everyone, but I really do like a pretty toy and I definitely had a little crush on this toy when I first looked at it.

This is a very long vibrator. The package lists it as being 8 inches long, but I measured it at just a hair over 9 inches. It is about an inch and a half in diameter as well. It's a traditional style vibrator so there is no curve to it at all. If that's what you are looking for, then Objet may be a nice toy for you. It's easy to hold ergonomically, but unfortunately it's a little too easy to hit the controls while holding it.

It is not at all discreet. At a glance, someone will be able to tell that it is a vibrator. The X-Tassie website does show a vase you can get to go along with your Objet to make it look a little more discreet, but it does not come with the toy and at this time EF does not sell it. If you are worried about discretion, it may be a good option to look into since it will just look like a piece of art.

Functions / Performance / Controls

I did not like the controls of this toy at all. I think that they are the biggest flaw with this toy. It is VERY easy to accidentally hit the button while you are playing with it and all it takes is a light touch to change the setting. I am rarely frustrated by controls, but I was not happy with this one. The handle is round so it's difficult to get a good grip on it without pushing the button.

There are 10 settings: 1)steady (low), 2)steady but more throbbing (medium), 3)steady (high), 4)rolling, 5)escalating, 6)throbbing, 7)steady (again? feels the same as #3 to me), 8)bzz bzz bzzzz, 9)very quick pulses, 10)longer pulses. When you've gone through all the settings rather than cycling through and starting over, it actually goes back down the settings. So it starts going 1-10, but after you press the button again, it goes back down 9,8,7 etc. Not a big deal to me but is a little quirky and counter-intuitive. There wasn't a big range in power between the different settings, and a lot of them felt very similar. Having 10 settings may have been overkill considering how similar a lot of the patterns feel.

The vibrations of the toy are felt most strongly in the tip where the motor is. They do travel throughout the toy. It's a fairly quiet toy. Quieter than the average toy but not as quiet as some. You should have no problem with people hearing this toy though a closed door.

Care and Maintenance

The Objet is a pretty easy toy to care for. Since it is a medical grade silicone toy, regular soap and water will clean this toy just fine as will toy cleaner or a bleach solution. If using a lube, water based is best because a silicone based lube can harm the silicone in the toy. I did test it with some silicone lube and did not see any discoloration or other issues with it, but I'm sure that using a silicone lube repeatedly with it could cause some issues.

It's a good idea to keep it in some sort of storage because it is definitely a dust magnet. Luckily it comes with a box that is great for storage. I would take out the batteries when storing it because the controls are so touchy that I found that more often than not it would turn itself on in the box.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The packaging was very impressive and would be excellent for storage, and you will want to have some sort of storage for this toy because it does attract dust and lint. The packaging is somewhat discreet but if someone picks up the box and reads the print, it will be pretty obvious what is inside. It comes in a very sturdy cardboard gift box and lies in a more flimsy cardboard insert. I thought it was a little tricky getting it back into the insert, so I just took the insert out and keep it in the box.

The instructions included with the Objet were not as helpful as most toys I've encountered. Some of the information doesn't match with the toy and I think belongs with one of the other models. However Objet is a pretty intuitive toy and it's pretty easy to figure out how to use it.

Personal comments

The information about this toy from the manufacturer was really pretty inaccurate. This really bothered me because you would think that they would want the details about their own product to be correct. The information that came along with the toy was for the Aurora which is another toy in their line. On the X-Tassie website, they claim that the Objet is rechargeable which is also not the case as it runs on AA batteries, so I'm not sure if a rechargeable version is coming out in the near future as well.

Maybe I missed it, but did this have a separate instant-off button, or do you have to cycle all the way up and all the way down to shut this off? That would be a pretty big annoyance...

Other than that, really good review! I'm not sure If I'm sold on these Objects, but they do look nice! Thanks, Taylor.

Ooops forgot to put that in there. There's no seperate power button, but you can hold the button for a few seconds to turn it off. Then when you turn it back on it will start with setting #1

That's good to hear about the power button! Is this toy waterproof?
  • Contributor: Taylor
It did not say whether or not it is waterproof, so i am assuming it is not waterproof. However I did not run into any problems while washing it with water. The design seems like it would be waterproof, but I would play it safe and not submerge it.
