G-spot strap-on vibrator discontinued

Kind of silly, but it makes housework more fun

Wearable vibes are a gimmick, but a fun one. This toy might be fun to wear - or order your sub to wear - while doing housework. On the lowest setting, it's even quiet enough to wear outside the house if you're brave. But it's not very strong, and the insertable portion is far from guaranteed to hit your G-spot or even stay fully inserted. If you like the idea of hands free dual stimulation that you can wear under your clothes, this toy might work for you. Just don't expect too much of it.

Use

The Mini G-spot Strap-on is a wearable vibrator, with straps that go around the legs and waist to hold it in place. A short probe with a G-spot hook is meant to be inserted, while the vibrations travel into the star shaped external area for clitoral and labial stimulation. It is fun to wear under your clothes while doing housework or watching tv, and it could be especially fun to order your sub to wear it while she performs other duties. However, it's unlikely to ever be the main event due to its low power. It's unlikely to get anyone off on its own.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of TPR, a rubber blend that is hypo-allergenic and free of latex and phthalates. It ranks 7 on the safety scale, as it is somewhat porous. Since it cannot be fully sterilized, it should only be shared with fluid bonded partners. The shape makes it unlikely to work with a condom.

The material has a pleasant plushy feel, and is not as much of a lint-magnet as silicone. It has a very light odour, but only when held directly to the nose. I am very sensitive to smells, and this one did not bother me.

The texture of most of the toy is smooth, except for the underside of the starfish limb. These contain little nubs for extra stimulation.

The control unit is smooth plastic, and the straps are made of a slightly stiff elastic.

Design / Shape / Size

The external shape of the toy is that of a starfish, with a G-spot probe centred on the underside. Four of the starfish limbs have an elastic strap attached to them, while the one that is oriented in the same direction as the G-spot hook is strap-free. The straps can be adjusted, but they cannot be removed. The strap attachment does no favours to the toy's aesthetics, but at least the elastic is the same colour as the toy.

The clit arm is not very long, and may not reach for every woman. It a least is flexible enough that it does not cause any poking or pinching, as some dual stimulator vibrators do.

A wire emerges from the centre of the starfish and leads to the control unit, which is made of plastic. It is a comfortable shape to hold, and has + and - buttons for the controls.

The colour is a bright pink - almost fuchsia. It is not particularly discreet, but it's not difficult to hide.

Measurements:
Waist/hip (unstretched): 25 1/2" to 40 3/4"
Leg (unstretched): 13 1/4" to 21"
Length of clit arm from top of probe: 1"
Length of probe: 3 1/2"
Width of starfish, arm to arm: 3 1/4"

Functions / Performance / Controls

The internal bullet is located in the shaft of the G-spot probe. The starfish section and G-spot hook are pure TPR. The vibrations are muted somewhat in power by the time they reach the clit arm, and I'm not sure I felt it on my G-spot at all, except as a diffuse sensation that carried through my vagina.

The controls are very simple. Push the plus button to turn it on and move through the settings, then the minus button to go back down. There are 3 continuous settings and 2 patterns. Having to push the - button to step back down through the settings and get to 'off' is a bit annoying, but with only 5 settings, it can be done pretty quickly.

The control has an LED light function which shows the settings and blinks in time with the patterns. I don't really know the purpose of lights on toys, but I guess someone likes them.

My favourite setting, surprisingly, is the lowest. It feels the most rumbley, and is nearly silent when the toy is inside me. The rest of the settings, including the patterns, feel more buzzy and the noise is distracting.

I think the first setting is quiet enough that this toy could be worn in public. However, there is always the risk that the + button would get accidentally pushed while in your pocket, and cause your crotch to start emitting noises. I'm not brave enough to try it.

The wearable nature of the toy makes it not terribly practical to wear in the bath or shower, if you are also showering for purposes of cleanliness. However, I did test its waterproof claim by leaving the vibrator running whilst it was in a sink full of water. Both the wearable portion and the controller passed this test.

This toy is not the most convenient one around, as there is time needed to get the straps in place. Once you adjust them to your size, you can simply step into it as if it was underwear, but first you have to untangle and untwist the straps.

It's best to use minimal lube for this toy, as it tends to want to slide out. Once put on and adjusted for comfort, you simply use the controller to put it at the speed you want, and carry on with your day. A g-string or a snugly fitting panty can help to hold it in place. It's especially fun to pair with a French Maid costume, but you can also put on your regular clothes and let it be your little secret.

Care and Maintenance

TPR can be used with water based or silicone based lubes, but avoid oil. Due to being waterproof, it is easy to clean. I just dunked the entire thing - straps, controls, and all - into a sink full of soapy water. It will need to sit out a little while to let the elastic dry after doing this.

For storage, you want to put it in a plastic zipper bag or fabric pouch of some type to keep the straps and wire from getting all tangled with the other toys in your Naughty Drawer. Always remove the batteries for storage - I just drop mine down inside the bag with the toy.

Packaging

The packaging shows a photo of a woman wearing nothing but the vibe with her hands over her breasts, which is not at all discreet. It is thin cardboard, and not useful for storage. I tore it into little pieces and put it in with the recycling.

Starfish instead of butterfly. The starfish 'arm' without the strap attached is for the clit. It's kind of short.

There's no decent way to photograph this in use, but this shot of me wearing it over pyjama pants might give you a general idea.

Final thoughts

Due to the weak vibrations and lackluster probe, I can't really give this an unqualified recommendation. It works as described and doesn't seem to have any flaws or false claims, but it isn't going to rock your world.. At best, it's a silly novelty to spice up an otherwise dull day around the house. If the gimmick factor appeals to you, and you think the starfish arm will reach your clit, then go for it. Otherwise, there are faster and more convenient ways to get off.

It is too bad it isn't stronger! Nice review!

Thanks for the review! I'm sorry it wasn't strong enough. That's always a big disappointment when it comes to vibrators.
  • Contributor: Silverdrop
I agree. You think 'stronger vibrations' would be something they'd design in from the start. It isn't a secret that most women think the stronger the better!
  • Contributor: P'Gell
Why do these "butterflies" always seem to lack strength?

Sorry it didn't work out. Somehow the probe should be adjustable. Every woman's G spot is in a slightly different place.

    How frustrating!

    It's a little low for a belt.

LOL, very low for a belt.

Thank you for sharing the review. I like the concept of these, but need more power than this has to offer. Sorry it didn't work for you.
  • Contributor: Silverdrop
I'll try another one sometime, but I'm not in any real hurry. It's not an essential product like having a great bullet or a perfect butt plug.
