Flexible G-spot vibrator discontinued
by Maia Toys

Maia MV1 is not my MVP

Maia MV1 is a decent vibrator but for the high price tag it seems to be lacking. It only has 4 steady vibration settings but does come with a nice storage pouch and is made of silky smooth silicone. As it stands now I wouldn't recommend this toy simply because of the price tag. It's currently listed at $73. If it was about $20-$30 less than I would recommend it but you might as well spend a little more and get a rechargeable toy. You will likely save money by not having to replace the batteries.

extremely useful review
The Maia MV1 silicone vibrator comes packaged in a cardboard box with a picture of the product and small description. The box has a velcro secured flap which opens to towards the right to reveal the product inside. My box is a bright neon pink like the toy itself. I imagine the yellow version of this toy comes with a yellow box instead.

Included with the toy is the storage pouch, product instructions and booklet showing you other Maia products. I have the pink one which appears to be called Marcia while the yellow one appears to be called Confetti. The brand on the Eden Fantasys product page says it's an Eden Fantasys product. I find however that this is a Maia brand product. Nothing on the box says Eden Fantasys. It seems like an Asian product to me because of the preview window opening on the box and how the instructions also open towards the right.

MV1 is made of silicone and plastic. The insertable portion is made of a smooth and silky silicone with very little drag. There is a plastic chrome band around the middle of the toy separating the silicone from the plastic handle. The plastic handle is made of slightly rubbery plastic which can help you to hold the toy. The insertable shaft is flexible and has a slight curve to it to allow for g-spot stimulation. There is also an oval shape on the back side to provide some texture too. The toy is a total of 8 1/2 inches long while the silicone insertable portion is about 5 inches long. It also features a 1 1/2 inch diameter.

This toy requires 2 AA batteries which are not included. When I first got it I wanted to try it out immediately so used some rechargeable Eneloop AA batteries, but they would not work with the toy. It just acted like there were no batteries inserted. If you're planning on using rechargeable batteries with this toy please be aware that they might not be compatible. Later I purchased AA batteries from the store and the toy started to work properly. To access the battery compartment just unscrew the bottom. The batteries are held in place and easy to grab with the spring mechanism. Do be careful when unscrewing the handle because the spring mechanism can cause your batteries to fly across the room. The battery compartment is tight and secure so there is no rattling noise when vibrating.

MV1 operates with the 4 button control pad located in the handle of the toy. The buttons are up(^), down(v), on and off. The buttons are easy to press yet not too easy to be accidentally pressed. To turn the toy on just press the on button. To cycle through the 4 steady vibration patterns (low, medium, medium-high, and high) just press the up(^) and down(v) buttons. Once you reach the highest or lowest setting you will know because it will stop changing. This toy will not remember your last setting so if you like a specific setting you will need to cycle through the settings until you find it, however with only 4 settings I don't see this being a huge issue. To turn the toy off just press the off button. As far as I can tell there is no button lock feature for traveling, so the best thing would be just to remove the batteries if you want to travel with it. When the toy is switched on there is a red light that lights up the control panel. This light remains on during operation and increases in brightness as the vibration setting increases in strength.

The vibrations are mostly felt in the tip of the silicone shaft yet slight vibrations can be felt throughout the toy. Comparing this toy with other similar toys I would rate it 3 vrooms. It is very quiet even when on high. It can probably be heard through the covers but not through a closed door so I gave it 2 bees. Overall I am not impressed with the vibration strength of this toy. I thought for the price tag it would be a lot stronger.

Since MV1 is made of silicone I would recommend using only water based lubricants. That being said, since the silicone is so nice I find that I don't need any lube besides I like a tiny bit of drag. Cleaning is also very easy. You can use toy wipes or some antibacterial soap and water. I store mine in the included storage pouch. The toy fits perfectly inside and it closes securely with a drawstring closure.
Experience
I did enjoy using this toy but I still feel that it could use a little more vibration strength. If you're into vibration patterns this toy does not have them however I don't mind it so much because I prefer steady vibration.

I used it internally and externally on my clit. The silky smooth silicone made it easy to insert internally even without lube. I find for clitoral stimulation that it could be better if the shaft wasn't so flexible. I prefer the pressure I can get with rigid toys.

It doesn't appear to be a battery guzzler although I haven't used it very much yet. It's also fully waterproof and I verified this by submerging it in water while it was on then checking the battery compartment for any leakage. It was a little difficult to submerge completely because the handle seems to float in water. After pushing it down for a few seconds in the water I pulled it out and checked the battery compartment. It was completely dry so this toy will work fine in the bath or shower.

Fantastic review. Thanks for all the pics. It is very expensive for a battery operated toy with limited functions.

Overpriced for what it is. Great Job!

I do like that it has steady vibrations a plus for me but battery operated at this price? I agree with you, if it rechargeable definitely worth it. Thanks for the great review!

I have a Maia toy for review too and was confused about the manufacturer being listed as EF so I contacted an admin and was told that Eden's name was just there because the manufacturer (Maia) had not been put in their system yet.
Just thought you'd be interested to know too as it seems Maia toys now shows up as the manufacturer on the product page.
    Nice review and pics!
