The thing that both confused and charmed me about the little Tiny Teasers dolphin|Tiny teasers dolphin was its shape. Even before I switched it on, I was turning it in my hands, trying to figure it out. With a plain bullet vibrator, you already sort-of know where to put things, to make the sparks fly. With a little Jel-Lee marine mammal, it’s not quite as clear-cut. Am I supposed to use the nose, like you would with a rabbit-style vibrator? Is it supposed to hug your clit with its fins?

I was pleased to note that the little included bullet vibe fit very snugly inside the toy, so I had no worries about it slipping off at an inconvenient moment. Yet it also looked like too rough handling could split the Jel-Lee around the bullet if I wasn’t careful. The material is very squishy, and the edges are pretty thin and bendable, so I wouldn’t advise storing your Tiny Teaser anywhere near sharp objects; the toy will pick up nicks or tears. Not surprisingly, being jelly, it’s also a little sticky. I had to pick off some lint almost immediately after pulling it from the package.

I washed it off before my first use, as it isn’t the right shape to just slip a condom over. The package advises using the toy with lube, so I slicked little Flipper up with a generous slather of Astroglide|Astroglide - Lubricant, and turned it on. Despite my initial reservations, I found that it wasn’t hard to find the toy positions that worked best for me (its sides and back). The nose is just too tiny and flexible to do any real insertion with, so it’s definitely for external-use only.

The intensity of the vibrations can be adjusted by twisting the bottom of the bullet, and it turns easily. Good. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s fumbling with complicated dials and buttons while working my way towards an orgasm! The softness is both a blessing and a curse; soft materials vibrating on sensitive parts are very, very good. But maybe because of that softness, the vibrations are more diffused than you get with a steel vibe. It took turning the Teaser up all the way and pressing hard to get the same effect as I get with my metal egg. Keep in mind, though, because I do use metal vibes, I’m used to pretty strong stimulation, and so this little guy might be more than enough for more sensitive clits.

Overall, I think it would make a great beginner or intermediate toy. I especially like the fact that it’s whisper quiet. Under a thick blanket, you’ll hardly hear anything at all. In a crowded house, I’d have no reservations about taking it into the shower, where the water-spray would all but drown out the sound of the vibe. (My only real concern there is that it claims to be water-resistant, not water-proof). Seeing as my walls are thin and discretion is key, for just that reason alone, this little guy will definitely be seeing a lot more action in the future!
